The pods do not have any ventilation. When the doors are closed, no AC gets in and it heats up fast. The mattress is the size of a twin but about half as thick and covered in leather. I woke up aching every day. They have a rule that you cannot eat or drink in the pods. The showers smelled like mold. The baggage tables were always overflowing.

Very nice staff, clean bathroom, capsule too small for me, bumped my head twice, but it was good experience. Moved to first class. Much better, however couple next to me argued so much and I can definitely hear them.

I read reviews online that had me second guessing my choice to book with First Cabin, but I ended up not agreeing with the complaints. Going into the stay, I knew it was a hostel, so my expectations were geared towards that. In comparison to other hostels, including those in Honolulu, First Cabin had way more privacy and the pods really do provide some decent privacy. I actually really like it in my own little burrow, nestled in like a cocoon. The showers were clean, and they clean the bathrooms daily, but some lazy guests, like from a country where manners are considered virtuous, might not pick up after themselves until the staff comes and does, which they will. The sheets were comfy and the towel was clean. There was no noise from the TVs in the pods and they are set to mute automatically and you're supposed to use headphones via bluetooth. They are small smart TVs so I just watched YouTube with the CC's on. I stayed in another hostel this trip and was surprised that 80% of the guests were over 50, some even over 60. In First Cabin too. Really crazy. I stayed for over a month in a hostel in Honolulu in 2019 and the guests were 90% in their 20's. Kind of ruins the hostel culture. I will add, I did not see any homeless people in Waikiki during my five days and that is really unusual. Entrance is directly across the street from Fendi. Your uber might take you to the Waikiki Shopping Plaza, but you have to cross the street to Waikiki Business Plaza.

It's super convenient and more if you only used it at night, it has laundry that you have to pay extra and they give you detergent, but you must sign up to take a schedule to wash, I wasn't told personally when I arrived but when I need it a guy who speaks Spanish I help me, so super well. The super friendly staff, unfortunately everywhere there are people who are dirty and do not respect the spaces to share with others, but other than that, everything super good, would come back again.

Great place to stay if you’re on a budget. Think of it as a very fancy military barracks. If you have mobility issues, you might want to check if they are the best place for you. I got an upper bunk “cabin,” which is about the size of a single bed and wasn’t easy for me to climb into. You get one electrical outlet plug and a tv, which you are asked to use your Bluetooth earbuds so no one else hears. Everything is pretty public so your suitcase and anything else that doesn’t fit into your cubicle will go outside with everyone else’s Suitcases. During busier times, the bathroom sinks may have a wait time till one becomes available. I saw one that had what I assumed was “beard” hair. You are given complimentary sandals, but if you’re larger footed, like me, your heel will not fit. For the price, you can’t beat it. It suited me fine because it was a short trip and my bag fit in my cubicle. Plus, I only went there to sleep, not to hang out. The social area was good because it had coffee and tea with a community refrigerator. suitcases.

I think homeless people like to hang out in the lobby in the mornings. I woke up early every day and had uncomfortable encounters with men who looked and acted high and who were half asleep in the lobby.
