Very nice resort. The layout is spot on very large beach frontage massive pool two children's pool one with play ground. Nice bar at pool, great Barman (Viet thanks for the memories). About $5:00 Aussie to get a cab to Hoi An or the resort has free shuttle. Breakfast was great I couldn't ask for more. Front bar very warm think they had aircon problems? I would definitely recommend and stay there again.
We are a family of 4 travelling with 2 grown boys.I purchased 2 vouchers for 7 nights off Scoopon.I upgraded our room to a Grand Deluxe Garden view room & the boys had the Premier Garden view. Dates were secured straight away to fit in with rest of our holiday. This was done with ease.We arrived early morning as our flights were early check in was easy & our room was ready around 11am which was fantastic. On check in there was not a lot of information given about the hotel or surrounding areas. The rooms where very nice & clean. There is a free shuttle into to Hoi An which we used & we also got a cab which was cheap. The hotel does provide free airport shuttles but we didn't use this as it didn't coincide with our flight times. Buffet breakfast was fantastic & catered for all nationalities. The dinning room at times was very crowded & very noisy, but the food far out weighed the negatives. Our vouchers included lunch & dinners now this is where things became difficult. When arriving at the restaurant we gave the staff our scoopon vouchers & it seemed the staffs attitude changed. The menu is very limited & is the same menu at lunch & dinner. The serving sizes are very small as my teenage boys looked at it & asked me where the rest was. On our first night we were told each voucher had to order the exact same meal.I immediately checked my email & proceeded to tell the staff this was incorrect.Things then went from bad to terrible. Most days my young men ordered of the main menu & I off the scoopon menu this also was an ordeal. On speaking to other scoopon holders they were also having the same issues. On eating in the western restaurant we ordered some drinks after waiting over 40 mins for drinks we ended up going to the main bar ourselves which was quicker. One night my husband got his main before the starter & I didn't receive my main until after everyone had finished & were ready to leave, and our meals were off the main menu.Bread rolls were hit & miss some times we got them other nights they forgot.Once we got our meals the food was very good. On a night of the BBQ they ran out of cold beer & served up hot beer and when I asked if I could have a cold one was told there wasn't any. The pool area is beautiful but the bar staff once again were not very friendly & found the service non existent. We did order meals from the bar menu which were very good as was the room service. We made use of the massage vouchers which we're lovely but some of the rooms only have a curtain between them, I found getting undressed with a see through curtain dividing the rooms a bit uncomfortable. We did book a few tours through the hotel which was great. We did see an activities board of what was happening for the day but never did see an activities person walking around trying to get people to participate. I also felt that the resort was lacking of night activities. We have stayed in resorts all over the world & most resorts have entertainment ect at night. The resort is beautiful & on speaking to the manager while there he is looking to improve on a lot of things which is desperately needed. On saying this we had a great time.but probably wouldn't stay here again.
Nice resort, rooms were spacious, staff are friendly enough. No sand left at the front of the resort but there is a sandy beach just 100m away. Be aware that the restaurant does get busy at breakfast time.
My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and I was genuinely impressed as soon as I saw it. It's absolutely beautiful. However the service is the complete opposite. My husband did well by booking the best room on the resort so they couldn't offer anything complimentary but seriously do not expect it. We decided to celebrate our union here and they genuinely are not bothered about returning customers, it's obvious they feel they will keep getting the custom, but you're left with customers who don't feel valued. We were told they gave us a bowl of fruit as a gesture, every room gets a complimentary bowl of fruit. When we asked to speak to management due to other issues he couldn't be bothered to take the time out. My advice come here sure but expect nothing.
Beautiful stunning resort, it was very unusual for the manager of the Golden Sand Resort to welcome us upon our arrival and was genuinely interested in a conversation. From that moment on it just got better, staff were all amazing especially these staff members Trang from the pool bar and Trang from the Restaurant. Phong and Viet from the pool bar. These staff went out of their way to make our stay that much more enjoyable. The staff at reception were so helpful and friendly. The facilities were second to none and would not hesitate to go back.

Room was nice, staff lovely. We travelled on a Groupon deal with 4 couples. We have used many vouchers, however, this is the first time I felt we were second rate customers to them. Had to pay for airport transfers which were included or wait two hours forfree shuttle. Our rooms were in the furthest block and the extra meal a day (lunch or dinner) was a very limited choice and very small serves. This stayed the same for the 5 days so we only ate once in resort. Location and staff were beautiful and loved how close it was to old town
We thoroughly enjoyed this place! Our son did get a nasty electric shock from a lamp by the beach which we have been told has since been fixed. A couple of things for those that may expect luxury service....it's lacking. Maybe in time the service will improve but I think if they got their staff to walk around the pool asking if you want food or drink we would have spent more. You have to go up to the bar, place the order, either wait for them to make it or point out exactly where you are sitting. Saying this, I would go back in a heartbeat! The pool was fantastic, our kids practically lived in the pirate ship pool, breakfast was awesome (lots of variety), great food at dinner, great room service food. Friendly staff but I think more poolside service would give this place 5 stars.
We stayed here in June 2016 and it was fabulous. Room was beautiful on ground floor overlooking pool and beach. Location was fantastic and service was wonderful. We ate here each morning for breakfast and also dined in the restaurant which was very nice. Staff took us on a morning bike tour which was really informative. Lovely place to stay.
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights, our first time staying in a resort. We usually opt for smaller hotels, but decided to treat ourselves and try a resort as we were on our honeymoon. We felt the breakfast selection, huge pool and surrounds were great! The lower rating is due to the below average service at the pool bar (generally slow and unfriendly, and we also saw a staff member "wash" our glass by wiggling a brush into it for a couple of seconds before pouring our drink into it), and service on arrival (we were forgotten about and had to ask to be checked in).
