Stayed in one bed exec apartment. The location of this property was excellent- central to everything - easy walk to Salamanca, the Brooke St Ferry terminal and Sullivan's Cove Precinct. You definitely don't need a car if you stay here. The property itself was clean, and contained everything we needed ( if a little bland and beige on the decor). The staff could not be faulted and were very helpful. Would definitely stay again.
The rooms are well appointed and very clean. The view of the harbour from the balcony is spectacular. Parking is a little difficult as there are too few spaces. The hotel is surrounded by good restaurants and shops
We stay here when in Hobart and I've reviewed this hotel before, but, it has had a make-over and the rooms are even better. Upgraded bathrooms and bedrooms are super. Small touches like the free drink at the adjacent restaurant etc. lift the mood. Of course the location is terrific as you can walk almost anywhere in and beyond the CBD from here. Want a night in, then you have a convenient small kitchen with everything supplied. Outlook over the harbour on both sides is splendid. The staff were super and helpful as you expect. Free parking too.
This accomodation was excellent. From the time we entered the staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was excellent, providing kitchen facilities, air conditioning, washing machine and dryer. Excellent location and views, close to restaurants and Within working distance to Hobart shopping and Salamanca. Would stay here every time I visit .
The Somerset is certainly in a great spot. We had a Premier Family Apartment which had a small balcony with a nice view over the harbour. The apartment looks high-end on the surface - but was let down by the detail - pokey rooms, the cheapest toilet seats you could find anywhere, cheap toiletries, crockery that didn't match, uncomfortable master bed. There are very few parking spaces - so we ended up in public parking. It's pricey too. We much preferred the Old Woolstore..
We greatly enjoyed our 4 nights here. The location was position perfect. Everything was a short stroll away, just what we wanted. With an abundance of restaurants, bars and cafes on our doorstep, we were in heaven. Being right on the Marina is quite spectacular, you get to enjoy watching all the moored yachts and we enjoyed seeing 2 cruise ships coming in to dock. The hotel was clean, neat and tidy. Great linen and quality towels. The rooms were serviced every day, by delightful staff. . You will love staying at Somerset on the Pier, you won't be disappointed.
Located in middle of town close to restaurants and shops. Hotel was clean and tidy with lots of space. Only negative bedroom had no toilet upstairs so if you needed to go in the middle of the night you have to come downstairs. Staff was helpful and friendly.
Falling asleep was hard as the walls were paper thin and we could hear everything next door...Including Christmas carols in mid July! It sounded like they were having a party and when we complained the next morning they did sympathise but did say they knew it was very noisy in the rooms but couldn't do anything about it. Overall clean, modern apartment with good space, nice beds and amazing water views but would choose something else upon next visit.
We picked this hotel as we wanted to be right in the thick of things during the Taste & Sydney-Hobart yachts festivities. It was a perfect location. Its lacking a bit of character in the rooms, although you just have to look out the window for all the goings on of town. Rooms well appointed, clean and great service. Walk to everything.
The hotel as the name suggests is right on the Elizabeth pier, the premier rooms with the balconies look out onto Constitution Dock and the standard rooms, no balcony, look out to Brooke Street Pier and the MONA ferry. The rooms are well equipped with a kitchette, the mezzanine has the very large bed, a wardrobe with a room safe and another TV. The bathroom is downstairs and has a washing machine and dryer for those on a long stay. The location is fabulous as all the waterfront activities are a short walk away and Salamanca Place is a 5 minute walk. Front desk staff are friendly and helpful.
