Stayed here on the weekend for a quick trip to Hobart. The staff were so helpful they even offered to drop our friends to their hotel about 10min away which we were very thankful for. The room was very clean, comfortable and well decorated. I will definitely stay here again when I am next in Hobart.
There is something about sleeping in a converted wharf with a submarine and icebreaker out the window that is special. This is my go-to Hobart hotel for work travel and I’d stay here for a vacation too. Big loft rooms. Big kitchenette. My only gripe is that they want my drivers license at check in. I travel all over Australia at least every second week, and this is the only hotel that risks my privacy this way. Why? My government employer books through a travel agency. The Commonwealth is good for the money! Seems like an overly zealous bean counter is compromising an otherwise perfectly acceptable customer check-in experience.
We had 3 nights here and it was such a great location. We had a great room with a balcony and view over to Maq1 Wharf. We were even entertained by a seal right in front as we had our breakfast in the sun on our balcony. Fabulous!
My UK visitor and I recently spent 3 nights here and I would to send a big thank you to manager James who went above and beyond in sorting out a less than satisfactory situation that had arisen with a third party, online booking agent. The outcome of James' assistance meant that we received the room we requested initially and were able to enjoy a worry free stay. Our one bedroom apartment with balcony overlooking the dock suited us perfectly, especially as the onsite restaurant T42 saved us from having to cook at the end of a tiring tour day. Somerset on the Pier is in the very best location if you are only in Hobart for a few days. Tour buses leave on the doorstep and the Salamanca market is a lovely 3 minute stroll away. Airport shuttle can be booked or a taxi only takes 1/2 hour or so. We found the hotel staff very friendly and helpful with all our queries, we could have fresh towels daily or choose the 'green option' service. Beds were comfy too! I look forward to another stay here , thank you again James for your pro active emails and phone calls- the company is lucky to have you.
After a week of traveling around Tasmania we were thrilled with our stay here. The room was beautiful and very comfortable with a lovely view of the water. Excellent facilities and hotel was very accommodating to our 1 year old as well. Great location with easy access to all the good spots of Hobart with walking distance everywhere. Highly recommended!!
Somerset on the pier is the perfect location for your next visit to Hobart! The accommodation is very comfortable with wonderful amenities and a fabulous view. Somerset is on the doorstep of many great attractions including beautiful cafes, restaurants, bars, markets & the MONA Roma (ferry). Do yourself a favour and visit the spectacular Hobart harbour and enjoy a stay out on the pier!
My hubby & I stayed for 2 nights. We knew when we booked that the bathroom was downstairs so that wasn't an issue. The location was great. The only issue was parking. There is limited hotel parking & you would have to be very lucky to park in their allotted spaces. It would be better if they charged $10 per day & allocated the guest a space. We were led to believe that we would get a spot but we ended wasting time driving around & parking in a parking station at a cost of $30 per day. The front desk should give guests a map of parking stations & their opening times in case it is needed. The 1st parking station we parked in was closed on Sundays so we had to move our car on Saturday to another parking station.
well furnished apartment split over two floors in a very central city location. A short walk to most of the tourist areas. Only issue with location is there is limited free parking available, but otherwise excellent.
The Best Location. We had the pleasure of staying 3 great days at this fabulous accommodation, with wonderful views from our private balcony over looking this beautiful harbour. Very comfortable apartment and a good bed. With 2 restaurants, a bar and a seafood cafe right under the apartments, very handy to everything in the harbour and the city. My wife has a very bad knee and on arrival, young James at reception suggested we change our room to a Disable Room, so very helpful and friendly staff. Definitely would stay here again. Fantastic Location.
Lovely room with a view over the harbour. Immaculate facility with all you could need. Close to restaurants, shops and tourist must dos. Just a note, the bedroom in upstairs on a mezzanine floor and the bathroom downstairs so going to the toilet in the middle of the night is an adventure. I loved this hotel though and would stay again. Very helpful, friendly staff.
