An absolutely fabulous location on the water walking distance from all Hobart Central has to offer. We were upgraded to a balcony room which was superb. The only negative comment is that secure parking is not available - all parking is on the street. The desk could have used a second person on check-out as the wait is a little frustrating when you have meetings to attend, however the process was fine.
we stayed 3 nights at Somerset on the Pier - the staff were welcoming, the room was great - large & clean, and we had a great view of the sea & the hills (where we saw wildfire start), right on the waterfront, close walk to old & new town, parking available (usually). do wish that they would use natural products in the bathroom though. it was a great choice & we would highly recommend
Love the apartment for the space and amenities and the property for its convenience. Parking was a hassle as there are limited free parking lots and even if you are ready to pay, you will have trouble finding lots.
If you want to stay somewhere local, where you don't need a car to get to tourist attractions, cafe's and shopping, this is the place for you. Right on the water with the option of booking a room with water views, and rooms / apartments very comfortable. We had a one bedroom loft apartment and own balcony facing the water. Small fridge, hot plate dishwasher and tea/coffee making facilities. Bathroom was lovely with shower over bath, though water pressure a bit light on, washing machine in bathroom. Basic toiletries also provided. TV in lounge and bedroom, and bed, queen size, comfortable. Site also has a number of sitting rooms available for guests. My recommendation is to request a room as far up the pier as possible as we were disturbed by the restaurants early in the morning, 5.40am, as they were setting up tables outside, and then a bit noisy again in the late evenings as guests were sitting outside. Parking was also a bit of an issue as the hotel spaces were very limited and we had to pay for parking quite a few times. Apart from that, staff were wonderful and the site great and we very much enjoyed our stay.
This is a really nice place in Hobart. The location is just perfect and you will have access to all the big attractions from here. The hotel offers amazing views of the harbour and the apartment are super big! Excellent service also and a really good stay. Just consider that beds are located on the top of the apartments so you need to use stairs to reach you bed.
This is our third stay and we will be back. Clean, spacious apartments. The bed are so amazingly comfortable and they provide heaps of pillows. Room service great and when your tired after a big day of sight seeing brilliant restaurants at your door step, especially the fish and chips shop.
The location is just stunning and very central to all the restaurants and harbour. The room was of an exceptional standard , very clean and just a gorgeous view from my window. The staff were lovely and no bother was too big. I enjoyed a cocktail on arrival which was a lovely touch and much appreciated. I will be back soon for sure
We found Somerset on the Pier catered for our family of four, including two older teenagers, perfectly. The location is spectacular being on the harbour. Our room faced onto Constitution Dock which meant that there was always some sort of nautical activity to gaze upon. Being located a short walk from the City, Salamanca Markets and many restaurants/bars, meant that we were only limited by our will to explore the local offerings.
We were upgraded on our arrival which was fantastic. Also I was travelling for my daughter’s 21st birthday and she was thrilled to receive a card and chocolates upon her arrival. Thank you so much! It was great!
My family stayed in the somerset on the pier for 2 nights and it was an enjoyable stay. The bed was comfortable and there was a kitchen with all the appliances. It would be useful if anyone wants to cook in the apartment. However we did not cook as it was quite near eating places and the market. There is no worry for food. As we went for a day trip to the sea, it was within walking distance to their service center. I will stay in the same place if I come back to Hobart again.
