Very comfortable hotel and rooms though ours was quite small. Bed very comfortable with good quality linen. Good but cramped bathroom was not well lit. Separate shower. Tea and coffee facilities in the room. Pool area very nice and the roof top bar on the 20th floor was a great spot for a night cap. Great views of the river and city from here as well. Breakfast was very reasonable with plenty of choice available.
Actually it is a wonderful hotel with typical five star Design. Our room was big and very quiet. Sleeping comfort was good and everything worked well. Wifi was free and fast. I don't give 5 points because the staff needs to learn to smile and to resolve the guests wishes and not to try to teach them what they have to do. Just because they work in a 5* hotel they shouldn't feel more important than the guests, especially the breakfast manager and the reception. But I would go there again because of great price value ratio.
We stayed in the Grand Hotel Saigon as part of a package including our stay in the Imperial Hotel in Vung Tau. The Grand has a very good location near the river and the opera house, you can walk right from the hotel to see the city. The rooms are old-fashioned but large with large bathrooms. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We are a gay couple and felt very welcome. Vegetarian food was available. We would stay there again because it is one of the hotels which are just "good enough", not expensive, not complicated, easy to find. We walked every morning at the river and took once the new Saigon Waterbus to the other shore of the river where we had dinner at the excellent Om Vegetarian restaurant, one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Saigon.
We chose this hotel as it fits in with our continuing ‘Grand Hotel Tour of the World’. Arriving for a 2 night stay at 06.00 but with normal check not until 12.00 noon. The early check in after our night flight cost an extra US123 which I thought was a bit on the pricey side, however we paid and I negotiatiated a 2 hour extension to the check out time included Bed very comfortable, room a reasonable size, same with bathroom and view from the 6th floor to the street was good. Location of the hotel was excellent. Breakfast was good with our coffee replenished regularly by a very chatty and friendly waiter, we did not encounter any staff that were aloof as mentioned by a previous contributor. The only issue I had with the breakfast was the bread, croissants and Danish pastries were not fresh each day. The swimming was a pleasant place to spend an hour or so. The rooftop bar was also a pleasant spot however the 2 beers for one deal during happy hour did not happen for us. No idea why a different beer was brought to us than the Sagato Beer ordered, oh well!
Great hotel with smart public areas but rooms seem a little dated, especially the old hotel rooms which can be noisy as they are not sound proofed and are close to the never ending road noise. The new wing rooms are better but seem a little tired. Breakfast was superb with everything you could ask for.
What a beautiful place this is. So French & very majestic. The staff were amazing, the rooms were gorgeous, the bathroom was so big & beautiful but the view from our room was to die for. Not to mention the breakfast upstairs was out of this world, from cereals to cheeses meats & salamis to pho. Also so very central in the hub of Saigon. Can’t wait to go back again & stay a bit longer in this amazing place.
very good and nice room with a good situation in the city with a beautiful scenery from outside of the hotel and near to some market for shopping with the friendly staff and good lobby in the hotel and I liked the food of restaurant in the roof
On our arrival cheerfully greeted by the Front Desk Staff then taken to our room which was spacious and very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was huge with lots of delicious Western and Asian foods all served by happy attentive and smiling staff (Wyndham Legend ,Ha Long Bay, please note!!!). Could not fault this hotel. Centrally located. Highly Recommended and we would stay there again.
Great reception when we arrived -by the time we had signed in the bags were in the room-very clean and tidy-great selection for breakfast-covers most cultures-good pool and the 20th floor restaurant was fantastic-room service great-want a Taxi -ask at the desk-need a map- ask at the desk. Also they they have a Tour desk to arrange you tours
Spend a 3 nights business meeting at this great hotel. Centrally located near the river and uncle Ho’s Park, we enjoyed the great service of the friendly hotel staff. Flawless organization, several food/restaurant options and good value for money deals. Walking distance from Hotel Continental Saigon (remember Graham Greene ?), the Opera, and many other tourist places. Highly recommended!
