The hotel is about ten minutes walk from the main station, in one of the streets off the Esplanadi. We had a good sized room, with two comfortable beds and an L shaped sofa. The triple glazed windows open easily (I hate air-con). There's a heated towel-rail in the shower room, a bidet spray...and plenty of hot water. Plenty of storage space. A kettle and mugs are provided - you need to supply your tea, coffee etc. and there's a small fridge. (There's a good supermarket just a short distance up the road.) A work desk is provided, but the room lighting is poor. BBC World and Radio 4 are available, also CNN and Fox News...but the rest of the radio channels from all over the world are pop and easy listening. The rooms seem well sound proofed. A small lift is quick and efficient. The breakfast area is rather crowded. There's a reasonable choice of the usual cooked and cold meats, cheese, salads, cereals, fruit and breads, but nothing outstanding. Some more variety and imagination would be good. Staff were pleasant and helpful.
We enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel, tucked on a quiet part of Helsinki but a short walk to city center. The hotel is located just a ten minute walk from the train station. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. The breakfast had many options. The room was comfortable and met all our needs. We couldn't ask for a better stay.
This hotel is well situated. You can walk to the markets, the harbour and the main shopping streets. The breakfast is very good and the dining areas pleasant. However, the rooms are not air conditioned. This means opening the windows and many rooms face an inner courtyard so your room is open for all to see. This was unpleasant. The room is very small but there was a nice little sofa which was nice. The reception people were always helpful and pleasant. And, there is a large grocery store diagonally across the street where you can pick up water and sandwiches or other meals. This comes in handy because restaurant prices are quite high.
Fantastic location Terrible bed remodeling (sheets folded badly in the feet) The 1-ply duvet placed on a double bed, the other placed in the lush and frayed closet, inconceivable for a hotel in Europe. Breakfast with sufficient, but uncommon assortment and disposition of the improvised ones (example sugar located far from hot drinks). For breakfast no table preparation, the cleaning is better than a mc/do overcrowded.
i spent a weekend here , overall it was just ok nothing special about it !! location was the best thing well centered at helsinki just a walk to main attractions, the room was very good and comfortable the toilet was excellent. The breakfast was very basic nothing special at all . Price was a little expensive but anyway helsinki is expensive.
Very well located if you arrive from the airport to central station. Just 15 min walk. Also only 10 min walk to the port or Cathedral square. The man at the reception was very helpful and understanding, allowing us to check in earlier than the forecasted hour although the room was a little simple than the one we booked. Anyway, it was our decision. Some ladies at the reception desk could be a little be kinder and smile to guests.
This wonderful hotel is a couple blocks off the main esplanade in a quiet cul de sac. The rooms are clean, large and comfortable with big soft beds. The free breakfast was good with hot dishes, breads, cereals, interesting jams, but minimum fruit. Throughout the day you can help yourself to newspapers, tea, and cookies and have a rest in their comfortable common areas. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Over the course of the day they diligently tried several times to make us a reservation at the Lappi restaurant and finally were successful. The ambiance is old school graceful, including a very affordable nightly rate! We walked here from the overnight cruise ship terminal, maybe a 15-minute walk, but if you have lots of stuff you should consider a taxi.
Couple travelling for the first time in Helsinki. Found it on Booking with very good reviews and happy to have chosen it. Location: very good, 10 minutes away from Square market, Old market hall, Stockmann, Esplanada. Smarket accross the street and nonstop Kmarket 10 min away. Breakfast: simple, european, freshly baked bread every morning, not too big variety but for us was just enough. We didn't expect more and not felt the need to ask for more. No need to buy water, tap water is just fine. Staff: friendly, helpful, we felt like visiting old relatives Rooms: clean, spacious enough for couple holiday, soft beds I will check in again if ever in Helsinki.
Breakfast is amazing, and its not too crowded generally. The rooms are quite old but confortable. Its quite next to the harbour and deisgn district so you can easily walk anywhere. You can even walk to the tran station. Maybe there are cheaper hotels but you wont regret this one.
This hotel is a cracking hotel for a city break, the rooms are clean and tidy and have excellent powerful showers. The facilities in the hotel are great for the price. This hotel has a great little gym if that's your thing has everything you need to get a sweat going. The breakfast is good also and youre best heading down a bit later into sittings as it's much quieter, our group had zero complaints about the quality of the breakfast. The hotel is very central and close everything. The rooms have WIFI which is free and excellent. I'd recommend this hotel to people visiting Helsinki for a well priced place to stay.
