The hotel is well located, convenient to the train station, buses and trams. Being in the center of town many stores and restaurants are nearby and it is an easily walk-able distance to the harbor and markets. Breakfast was abundant and varied.

we loved our stay, the hotel is in the heart of the city. 5 Minutes away from the Central train station, from there you have access to all other forms of transportation, Shopping malls on 3 sides of the building. Wide variety of restraunt' s close by. The Silent Church is next door to the hotel

Buffet breakfast was outstanding, friendly staffs. Hotel is close to the main train station, connected to the shopping mall

Great room but the air conditioner did not work well. Called the front desk and they said the control box on the room doesn't really work. The problem may be the half inch layer of dust in the vent.

I was here for over a week and it was fantastic. The front desk staff were awesome - they ordered me a rental car to be delivered, and when I had to call my airline at 2:30am, they handled everything for me. The free breakfast was absolutely delicious - they had a little something for everyone. It gets crowded but if you head to the very back corner there is another room of tables no one ever thought to sit at. The location is unparalleled. You can see Sokos and the train station from the room window. It got a little loud at night because it was summer time and people were outside, but nothing too crazy. There was no fan and only one window that opened, so it got a little warm in the room. The room was a good size, two double beds, mini fridge, shelving including places for large suitcases to be out of the way. The WC was a typical European WC, with a shower, no tub. The tiles could use some bleach but otherwise fine. Also, you can get right to the Kamppi from inside the hotel! I would definitely stay here again.

Had a layover in Helsinki. Took the airport bus into town and the Scandic Simonkentta is right in the middle of town, just a slight walk uphill from the station. Rooms are comfortable and quiet. Front desk staff was attentive and responsive. Lots of restaurant choices across the street and several shopping malls in the area. Highly recommend staying here if you want to have a nice safe place to stay during your time in Helsinki.

Location is perfect, friendly staff, excellent breakfast.

The location of this hotel could not get much better. It has a direct elevator access to the underground metro station and shopping areas, and is centrally located in downtown Helsinki. The breakfast buffet is extensive and tasty - probably the best breakfast I've had in any hotel, ever. The rooms are clean and modern and include free, fast wi-fi. This is my go-to hotel in Helsinki.

This hotel was fantastic. The staff is very helpful in giving directions to other places around town. The view from the balcony to the center square is breathtaking at night and its location is close to shopping centers and the metro so you can always find something to do. For future endeavors to Helsinki, I know Scandic Simonkentta will be the place I will always call my temporary home.

Overall, this is about the most perfect hotel experience I've ever had. The hotel is well-located in downtown Helsinki - Close to train, subway, and busses. The room design was amazingly efficient, yet very comfortable. Just as close to "home" as could be. The morning breakfast was especially welcome. They feature a fantastic variety of buffet breakfast items. I was attending an academic conference that sometimes kept going until quite late. There was always food available in the lobby that I could purchase and bring up to my room. Staff members were always friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to book my next stay at this hotel on future trips to Helsinki.

Good but nothing special. The staff seemed overwhelmed at times and not too friendly. Breakfast was very good.

I was very impressed with the hotel. Our request for a queensize bed could not be honoured but they did accomodate us the first night in a suite at no extra cost. The following day we moved into a room with a double bed. Thee suite was lovely but right across from the hotel was a disco and having arrived after midnight and a long flight it was a little noisy but it was ok. The staff was very accomodating. Would recommend the Simonkentta to anyone. Centrally located and with the weather in Finland the convience of being able to go shopping without really going outside is a plus. Rooms were very clean and modernly decorated. It even has a small refrigerator .

The hotel is just two blocks from the Central Railroad Station and the Metro Station is just across the back courtyard. The front desk staff was very helpful. I asked them several questions about transportation and they gave me timetables, maps and good information. The breakfast was great. Lots of typical European choices. The room was spacious and very clean. The traffic noise was pretty loud with the window open, but closed it was very quiet in the room. Helsinki is a very walkable city and everything we wanted to see was within a 20 minute walk from the hotel.

The location was perfect for us. Close to shopping and within walking distance to the market by the docks. Very good restaurants nearby. Since we were taking a bus to our next destation the hotel was perfect because it is located above the main long distant bus depot. There is also a shopping mall below the hotel.

Very good location, next to railway station and Museum of Modern Art (Kiasma), as well as all the shopping options. Great service and extremely good value for the price.

Great hotel, checked in late after flight. Next morning went sight seeing, great location and close to shopping and bars.

friendly staff, clean, great location

Reception staff very friendly, helpful and efficient - service with a smile! Rooms were ok, very clean, comfortable beds. Pillows were very lumpy and need to be replaced - felt like generations of guests had already slept on these. Bathroom had only one set of towels available although we found a second set stuffed in the wardrobe. Many international TV channels (Italian, BBC, German, French) but missing CNN (at least couldn't find it). Breakfast included, wide variety of items, including eggs, sausages, meatballs, fish... All in all good, above-average experience but not outstanding. Would stay there again.

Very excellent hotel right in the heart of Helsinki. The staff was great, the food was exquisite and the rooms were clean and modern. Great for business or pleasure.

This was a very nice hotel. The staff was very friendly and seemed to really want to please their visitors. If something was ask for the staff made it happen quickly. The morning breakfast bar was tremendous and something to look forward to daily.
