One Night in Helsinki

The hotel is centrally located so it's walkable to the main downtown area. Theres also a supermarket across the street. The codes are only activated at the ckeck-in time, so plan your arrival at that time. And remeber your code - you need to use it three timea to get into the building, floor, room. The communication from the customer service was fantastic.

Shower water is only warm. If you want a hot shower, you must use the bidet shower from the toilet since this is the only way to get hot water. The downside is that you have to squat the whole time and it does not feel very hygienic to spray your face with the same bidet which you just used to your other parts. You cannot open the windows, so you don’t get any fresh air. I had to suffer all night since the AC only blows air into the room, and my nose got stuffed because of this. I did not feel safe, since there were often some sketchy people hanging around at the front door of the hotel. The problem is that they can easily see when you enter the code to the lobby door, and the same code also works for your room. So if they see you entering the code and follow you to the same floor where your room is, they could get into your room anytime. Good: Fridge, instant coffee, water boiler, TV, internet, plenty of towels, soap and lots of toilet paper, decent bed, 4 good pillows, huge windows with lots of sunlight, and an electric plug next to the bed. My conclusion: I would rather spend my money renting a private apartment in the Tapiola district for the same cost

This is a good hotel to stay the rooms are big. They don’t have staff onsite it’s all automatically done. I have no issues but I saw other people having issues. It is located about 10 minutes walking from the senate square/old town. There are lots of restaurants convenient stores, mall, and even a super expensive stripe club. The down side they don’t offer storage for your bags and the checking is at 4 pm. I will stay here again

Great base for a few days

The room was fairly basic, but had all we needed, and was perfectly fine for our 3-night stay. The virtual reception was no issue with all instructions sent via email and text message as instructed. Very handy to public transport and food shops.

A bit of a walk from the main train station so we took a uber to/fro. Check-in was super easy and we liked that we did not have to worry about losing the room's card key :)

It’s cheap and the neighborhood is close to the town center but then so is the park bench at Old Church Park. This experience has taught me, no matter how affordable, that you can’t run a hotel WITHOUT staff to offer help and service.

Booked for one night to see how the property was, ended up booking for another six nights. Close to the heart and soul of Helsinki. Felt safe inside, you have to use numeric key codes to enter everywhere, which is comforting. Five minute walk to the Ritzy shopping stores.

Very good room with some concern

The Omena Hotel Lonnrontinkatu is conveniently located in Helsinki city center, just a 10-minute walk from the main train station. Our room was clean and comfortable, featuring a sofa and dining table. Although the room was a bit small, it was perfectly fine for two people. One thing to note is that this hotel has no reception, so check-in and check-out are done independently. However, this system has a major flaw. We were supposed to receive a registration link and code for check-in, but we never got it. Unfortunately, the customer service number was completely unresponsive, and the phone in the lobby was equally useless. We ended up having to contact our travel agency, who thankfully managed to get us the code within 15 minutes. However, this whole ordeal cost us two hours of our precious vacation time. And we weren't alone! During our 3-night stay, we witnessed at least 6-7 other groups experiencing the exact same problem. This is a serious issue that the hotel needs to address immediately. Guests should confirm their registration and code well in advance of their arrival date to avoid this frustrating situation.
