Although the hotel is not located in the central of Helsinki, i found it is very close to tram which is line 7, and that took me a few stations to city center which is very handy. The hotel is located by the seaside with a good runway, alot of people do their jogging in the morning. And there is a good pub next to the hotel does good seafood meal. I enjoyed stay there.
When new the hotel was a treat. Now a couple of years after having opened there is a possible relaxation in management. The restaurant service is slow, not friendly, feel as though they are doing us a favor by giving us a table and serving. The menu is quite limited also in the restaurant. A strange small in the overstuffed chair in my room, very expensive business center services, despite having a corporate agreement. All in all very disappointing and will avoid booking here in the future. Also the sky bar has wonderful views but again, understaffed, long lines to get a drink and just not friendly staff!
Normal rooms are very small and everything looks like the build cheaply starting with the bed. Also, the cleaning of the room is below the hotel price as dust can find all around... View to sea in Helsinki is not that uncommon to pay this price
We stayed here for one night in March. We had a room at the top level with a nice view over Helsinki. The hotel also had a sauna and a swimming pool, which you could use for free. These were a nice addition. The bed was comfortable, and we fell asleep easily. But we got woken up three times during the night by the TV turning itself on, which left us with a slightly dissatisfied feeling. The breakfast made some of that up, as it was good with multiple choices to make. But still, one would hope to get enough sleep and not to be bothered by electronics in the middle of the night. I would say base value for this stay was 3 out of 5 because of the TV problem, but the views add one more, so 4/5.
place is wonderful, the higher floors (up from 8th floor) allow a good view around harbour with the opportunity to walk to the design district night view from the bar is excellent, people are really nice and rooms are fine
Great lobby with a modern scandanavuan feel to the hotel. Standard rooms mostly come with great view of sea. But rooms are a little small and lacking in any design characteristics. Good breakfast. In view of general high costs on the city it was quite good value. All staff could speak excellent English and were very friendly and helpful
I went for a breakfast only in the Clarion Hotel Helsinki. The customer service in the restaurant was very poor. I never received a "Hello" or "Good Morning", not a smile and certainly not a single friendly word. The crumpy man at the cashier just cashed me and my friend, and blamed us for not having made reservation in advance. The same unwelcoming atmosphere continued during the breakfast. Cannot recommend this hotel for its unfriendly and unwelcoming hotel culture.
Swimming pool is cold and limited opening times. Stay four nights and the room was only cleaned on one occasion. Mediocre customer service.Staff could have been more helpful. Slightly far from the city centre. Breakfast that was included was excellent.
Nice rooms with a great view of the inner harbour area. Location close to the city centre and very easy to get to and from the airport. We visited the rooftop bar twice and this was a good experience, but take it a bit more easy with the air conditioning. We also visited the hotel restaurant twice. Saturday was a very good experience with fresh backed bread, good service and a very nice meal. Sunday was with a downsized menu card (and no fresh bread) and the service was more hectic. If this would have been the other way around would this clearly only been one visit from our side at the restaurant. Room service was not well organised. After a long day around the city was our room still not ready - we arrived back at 1700 hours. We arranged late checkout on Monday, but housekeeping knocked our door at 1100hrs - they were apparently not informed about our late checkout. All in all should the hotel management consider their services.
Good room and breakfast quite rich. Freshly made omelette and fried eggs was nice addition to other standard choises. Otherwise could be better for such level room rate. This level hotel should take more care for the rooms, e.g. water didn’t flow away normally from bathroom sink.
