Stayed in hotel haven 7th & 8th November A lovely cozy hotel , Great ambience; rooms were very well furnished and very comfortable, The hotel bar was different with every possible drink available and a wonderful wine list. Barren were also very knowledgeable and very professional. Polite staff all with a smile on their faces. Breakfast was also good with a wide choice Reasonable price. Happy to return.
We stayed for 3 nights in a harbour view room for a city break to Helsinki. Check in was easy and quick with some useful information provided on the city and the locations of restaurants we had booked. Our room was lovely, and the views over the harbour were worth the extra money. The bed was comfortable, with good pillows and there was a functional sitting area which is sometimes not the case in hotel rooms - there was a sofa, table and a desk. The room was clean and the quality of the bedding, toiletries etc was all good. We slept fairly well, the room was quite hot which is something we often struggle with. We managed to reduce the temperature a bit with the air conditioning on our second and third nights but it remained a bit too warm. The room was quiet and there was nothing else that made it difficult to sleep. A buffet breakfast was included in our rate and was good, there was no need to go to the a la carte menu which would have cost extra. Plenty of choice available in the buffet. A couple of small things to note but certainly did not affect our stay. We did not receive a formal "turn down" service on any night, something that the hotel says it provides. We left the hotel each evening to go out for dinner so there would have been opportunity. The selection of TV channels is also quite poor, with a pricey package available to upgrade to. While we didn't spend vast amounts of time in our room, with the hours of darkness in Helsinki being as they are a wider choice would have been good, and perhaps expected in a hotel of this calibre. Saying that, we would recommend Hotel Haven to anyone visiting Helsinki. The location is excellent for sight seeing and staff are helpful and professional.
This is a modern hotel with very helpful staff and delightful public areas at ground floor level. We had a wonderful large room overlooking the harbour with truly spectacular views. The hotel could not be more central. It is modern and innovative. Breakfast is in a much older part of the building which can be a little chaotic depending on when you choose to have breakfast. This breakfast area, we think, is a relatively new addition but at times when larger parties of overseas guests want to access the breakfast at the same time, it results in a lack of coordination with regard to table clearing and service. However, this is perfectly capable of being rectified but it does need some attention. All in all, this must be one of the best hotels to stay in particularly with its views of the harbour and its central location. Do not hesitate to treat yourselves!
We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day stay. The location was excellent and in walking distance to major sights, shopping and great restaurants. The herring festival was right at our doorstep as well a,s the wonderful market building. We enjoyed breakfast in the beautiful old building in the hotel precinct. The staff at reception were wonderful -exceptionally helpful and extremely friendly.
It was a good location. The hotel was quiet, classy and relaxing and the room was lovely and comfortable and clean You need to be very able bodied to stay at this hotel. Breakfast is like a magical mystery tour up and down stairs winding through the building. There was an extortionate charge for room service - don't order it!
Service at Hotel Haven was excellent. Hotel was able to keep my bags while I sight see in Helsinki as I arrived on 1 Oct too early for my ferry to Talinn Estonia. My return flight to Singapore was also late and the Hotel was able to have late check out for my family of five and arranged for a taxi to the airport. A wonderful stay as the hotel is within walking distance to attractions and amenities. Breakfast was wonderful with good latte & a good spread of food in a nicely renovated breakfast place.
Lovely high profile hotel, lobby/bar/halls/room etc very lovely decorated. Staff was amazing!! Very polite, helful and friendly but in a natural way. Clean and high quality linen and other materials. Breakfast was lovely, multiple choices, lovely service. Only bread could have been more fresh. Hotel has stairs but lift also available. High technic including tv's speakers in the bathroom :)
Our stay was just for two nights and we enjoyed this very much. Everything about this establishment is first class - except having to trudge across the courtyard to a different building (and up flights of stairs) for breakfast - a pain especially in the rain. Our room was very nice and modern, as was the bathroom. A well trained, friendly staff made this an exceptional stay.
We found this hotel to be a haven of tranquility in the friendly city of Helsinki. It is situated close to the port but on a quiet side road. At the same time it is conveniently situated for the trams. We found the receptionists always very friendly and helpful, and were particularly kind to our young daughter. They were happy to go the extra mile to answer our questions. We liked the breakfast room. The buffet was extensive and delicious.Unlike many hotels, the atmosphere was very calming. We would happily go back there.
I spent a week in Helsinki and the Hotel Haven and couldn't have been happier. The location is simply fantastic. Right on the bay, across the street from the indoor Old Market hall, the Market Square, Ferris Wheel, Sea Pool, Ferry to Suomenlinna and more, a block from the Esplanadi, shopping, restaurants, it just goes on and on. The room was a perfect size for my stay and although there were some extremely minor issues, there wasn't anything I brought to the management, so I won't mention here! And if I had brought it up, I'm sure it the staff would have resolved in an instant! I fell in love with the city during that week and Hotel Haven was definitely part of the reason! I can't imagine a more perfect hotel and location for another trip to this fantastic city and country!
