Hotel Haven5.0 out of 5.0

My room was in the recently renovated section. Expansive ceiling, two stories high. Lovely soaking tub. Comfortable bed. Breakfast had the usual suspect and many local delicacies. The only downside was the trash pick up in the court yard at 7 am.
I stayed in Hotel Haven for 2 nights while traveling alone on business. The location of the hotel is very good, and when there is no rush you can reach the hotel in some 20 minutes from the airport with a taxi. You will get there with public transport too; with a bus or train to the central railway station and the with a tram just 200-300 meters from the hotel. I was warmly welcomed in the reception and allocated a room with a bathtub as requested. I had a room on the 3rd floor, facing the office building across the street. It's not such a great view, but the room itself (number 324) was great; large and very nicely equipped. The room had a nice big sofa, a big bed with a selection of large and regular size pillows, and a bathroom that was just perfect; in terms of size, light, and amenities. I'm a hotel toiletry geek, so you can imagine how happy I was when I saw toiletries from Byredo, a Swedish luxury fragrance brand. The hair dryer was from ghd, which I know especially female guests will appreciate. And a small, but cute bath whale was such as cute detail! Bathrobe and slippers were also provided. Most of the other guests I saw at the hotel were also business travellers, but this hotel would be equally suitable for a romantic weekend or a girl's trip. The breakfast was served in a building in the backyard, or should I say facing the passenger harbour. What a fantastic view! What I found a little special though was that not all breakfast courses were included in the breakfast price, there was an extra charge for eggs benedict and some other courses. Special coffees were included though. But I was pleased with the breakfast as well. Hotel Haven has some sisters and brothers in the area, such as Hotel Fabian and Lilla Roberts, all owned by Kämp Group. These are all elegant hotels that are guaranteed to offer a great stay for those that prefer to stay away from the impersonal major chain hotel path. For those that are in Helsinki for pleasure, Haven offers a great location close to shopping and many popular attractions.
Stayed at this place 3 times now and I have had 3 great stays and the staff get better and I realise how great this hotel is. For the money I simply cannot fault it and will return. Really welcoming staff, the bar is worth a visit on its own, what a selection of drinks.
I always enjoy staying in this hotel. Location is exellent, near everything and still peacefull. The staff in reception is very professional and friendly. You really feel wellome. Rooms are spacious and confortable.Very good brekfast in cozy milieu.
Excellent hotel in historic buildings,, comfortable room, great breakfast across courtyard, great service from staff to advise how to find sites of interest from museum to unique fortress on several islands, and where to eat local and traditional food. Only grumble was not one of the stamped postcards left with reception to put in the post actually reached the UK
The hotel is well located, close to the Market Square, Inner Harbour, Esplanade, shopping areas, and restaurants. The hotel is well-appointed, comfortable, and quiet, and I had a partial harbour view which was very nice. The breakfast was excellent. However, I had difficulty with the room temperature (too hot in mid-April) and also with a bath-tub plug that just did not release. Further, for a hotel this recently renovated it is shocking, in 2018, how inaccessible it is for those with mobility issues. You cannot get to breakfast without going outside and up one flight of steps, and there are also all sorts of unevennesses or one small step here and there or a step over a doorframe. To check in, you either have to walk up half a dozen steps from the Unioninkatu side, or else you'd have to pre-arrange to arrive from the other side, where elevator access is possible... but only after you have checked in and have your key-card. At this price-point, in 2018, in a modern design-conscious and socially-conscious country, one should expect better accessibility.
Staycation, my new hobby and this is one of the nicest place to stay in Helsinki. Nice rooms, great location and very good breakfast. Staff was very friendly as well. Downstairs they have the bar with a wide selection of whiskies from around the world. I have stayed here couple of times and will definitely visit again.
We spend weekend in Haven. Hotel is nicely located for exploring Helsinki. Hotel staff is very wellcoming, and we were able to get our room already at noon. Room was spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. We had a room facing the inner courth and it was very quiet. Bed was comfortable, more on the firm side. Breakfast was plentiful, and it really started our day nicely. I can recommend this establishment!
The location of this good quality hotel could not be better. Shops, restaurants and local sights are literally on the doorstep. The hotel itself has a feel of luxury without being pretentious. The room we had was spacious, well equipped and spotless. The breakfast selection was varied and well presented. We did arrive in the last hour of service and some items were depleted, however I am sure if I desperately wanted something it would have been made available. The only drawback for us was that the room was rather warm at night, despite altering the air con.
Stayed here over Christmas and couldn't be more happy with the hotel. Friendly staff - check; comfortable rooms - check; breakfast with variety and GF options - check; good bar - check; perfect downtown location - check! The bar had excellent food and knowledgeable bar tenders. Even if you are not planning to stay here, stop by for a nice drink and some food. Can't wait to come back.
