Stayed three nights and was very comfortable with room. The staff is exceptional, both a.m. and p.m. They are in the process of remodeling but it is no inconvenience to the customer. The bft.during the wreek is wonderful but it varies slightly on the weekends. Would definitely stay there again! No pets!
This was a very clean hotel however we were immediately given a room that was not cleaned yet. We were then given another room. Room was slightly outdated w the scent of Fabreeze. We prefered a non-scented room. It was a very loud weekend because young kids were running up and down the hall. The maids (on ground level was super friendly and professional.) The lady who worked at the breakfast area was very professional, too, asking how long we plan on staying, where we were from, etc... The only slight drawback was the front desk receptionist. The morning receptionist was super professional and pointed out many things to do in the area; however the night receptionist was not too friendly. In fact, we asked what her name was and she answered, “What?,” instead of answering, “My name is Amanda.” A bit standoffish. But overall, we may not return because we may not be in area again.
My family and I frequently stay at the Fairfield Inn Marriott. On this last trip, my husband forgot his medication in our hotel room. Crystal, Manager of Housekeeping, immediately retrieved the medication and shipped via Fed Ex. We had it in 72 hours. Crystal and staff went above and beyond. Additionally, they accommodated our connecting rooms request. We would recommend this hotel to other families without hesitation and will definitely stay there anytime we are in the area. the front desk staffs are really unpleasant and rude. amanda is the worst she is really rude everytime we ask for something she will say no. what kind of customer service is that? don't work for front desk if you can't do your job. the next morning the old lady who works at front desk is extremely rude. i will never stay at this hotel!! save your money and find hotel somewhere else. what a shame its marriott brand
Desk clerk had zero personality, borderline rude. Said my MasterCard wouldn't run so I had to produce another card. Called my card company and they said nothing should be wrong all other charges during our travels had gone thru. The room was dated and worn as was the lobby furniture. The next morning the complimentary breakfast was good. The bright spot was the very friendly lady Candace that set the food bar in place. She went above and beyond to meet our needs. Pleasant goes a long ways after long days of travel. Thank you Candace as I told you personalities can,t be bought.
Hotel rooms are outdated and were marginally clean. I would not stay at this hotel again. I chose this hotel because of it's location next to a Penn State University satellite campus and proximity to several restaurants. However, the rooms were marginal at best. Parking was tight. I did not eat breakfast at this hotel, but breakfast was served daily.
My wife and I were traveling through Pennsylvania from Maryland to Western New York. We were tired and found ourselves coming into Hazleton, PA on I-81. We saw on the highway sign that there was a Fairfield Inn & Suites at the exit and decided this was where we were going to rest. We were welcomed by the desk clerk. I am a Marriot Rewards member and made that known. The clerk was very accommodating and very pleasant. The hotel is very clean. This hotel is apparently an award-winning property because across from the elevators was glass case full of awards, plaques, and trophies. The room was great, also very clean, warm (the temperature was dropping from the forties/Fahrenheit into the thirties as night fell) and for one night met our needs as tired travelers. This hotel does have the Marriott curse, a bed that is too soft. If it wasn't for the bed being too soft it would be a perfect stay. I don't hold that against this hotel, that seems to be a corporate problem. I have traveled a lot and if you want a decent bed in a Marriott property than stay at a Residence Inn and if you want to sleep in a bag of marshmallows then stay in a Courtyard. The bed at this hotel is better than a bag of marshmallows, but you do sink when you settle into bed. Not sure if the mattress is really worn out or just low quality. There are some people that like a soft bed. My wife and I are not those people. if you like a soft bed than this hotel would be great for you. We are only staying the one night so as I said, I won't hold the bed against this hotel although that is the core of any hotel stay. Next door is a restaurant with a sports theme, Damon's. The food is great there and within walking distance from the hotel. I would recommend this hotel, but if you cannot handle a soft bed don't stay here more than one night. If you like a soft bed then this is your hotel in Hazleton.
The room was very nice and comfortable. Did not like the fact when I walked in to register and gave them my name and who I was with I was informed they were not Pet Friendly and the clerk said she would be glad to cancel my reservation for me. Not what I wanted to hear. I feel this was very inappropriate and unprofessional. On the better note Candace at the morning breakfast was a very sweet and helpful person. could not do enough for us offer to make anything we wanted. Everything was set up before 6am and was all very good.
Very expensive room...$198.00 with taxes. Nothing fancy. Check in representatives were very unfriendly. Would not honor AAA discount due to a wedding? When we asked about this the answer was ignorant and kept saying we got this low rate because of the weddings? We were too tired to argue and they were very unhelpful. We had entered this hotel after a very long drive and received sub par treatment.
I recently switched hotels from another local one and I should have come earlier. My elderly parents reside in a senior assisted living community nearby and to come back each night to Fairfield Inn & Suites Hazleton is always a warm and comfortable stay. Starting from the front desk, who recognize me each visit, to awakening to the smile of the attendant at breakfast is highly recognized as topnotch service. My first floor room is a request and given priority and the attention to detail of any other requests are followed up promptly. One late night I didn't know if coffee was available and the front desk said if there wasn't any left in the restaurant that she would make me fresh pot. Now that's service! Rooms are clean to perfection and parking lot is securely lit. When you get off the highway come over and smell the breakfast sausage! I'm sure you'll be delighted.
