Driving back from Florida, we got caught in some bad weather and decided to stop and sleep for a few hours. Since the Residence Inn was the closest hotel, that's where we stopped. There were three of us and they gave us a room with a king size bed and a pull-out couch. The room was clean and the bed was great, but, the pullout couch was very thin and my friend who was stuck on it was aching all the next day. She said that the mattress was very thin and not even a child would have been comfortable on it. The desk chair looked like it had been seriously abused. They really need to update some things at this hotel, like the furniture. It worked in an emergency but I would not choose this hotel for any planned stay.
I've been there always for business and I can tell you can find everything you need in order to make your stay pleasant and comfortable. The rooms are spacious and full of everything you need, kitchen included. Internet works great, gym is fine, pool and Jacuzzi are great. Last but not least the people there make the difference, cordiality and smiles are always ready.
Stayed here overnight en route to upstate New York. The hotel is well maintained, and the staff was professional and friendly. Suite was clean and comfortable. We were travelling with our dog, and appreciate that this hotel is pet friendly. What sets this hotel apart from other Marriott properties is that it charges only a $20 pet fee per stay. This is refreshing when compared to other properties that charge $75-$150 per stay. Breakfast was standard Residence Inn fare. Very happy with our stay!
I stayed here with my wife and younger son for a night on a weekend getaway. We booked a one bedroom room, but they hotel upgraded us to a two room, two bathroom suite, which was very spacious and great for families. The bedrooms connect to opposite sides of the common living room/kitchen area, so each bedroom is quiet and private. The room was clean and in good condition. My son and I spent some time in the pool and hot tub, which was small but acceptable. However, they were out of towels when we arrived and it took quite a while for the hotel to replace them. The outdoor seating area with fire pit is a nice touch. The breakfast was standard with a decent variety. The property is set back from the main road and is separated from the gas station and fast food restaurant by a large grassy area (see photo).
I aways like to stay at Residence Inn hotels. They are comfortable and offer more space than most hotels. They also have full size refrigerators. This hotel was no exception. The room was a typical layout with seating, kitchen and bedroom areas. I requested a room away from traffic noise, and the woman at the desk changed my assigned room. I appreciated her effort. I would have given this hotel a 5 rating, except it has not been updated like many of the residence inns. It still has the burgundy colors rather than the blues colors you see in lots of the other hotels. It seems to be well maintained, but a few things are showing wear. There were tears in the seat of the office chair in our room as well as some scrapes and marks on the table and cabinets. Other than that, everything looked well cared for and very clean. There was a nice pool and outdoor seating area with a fire pit.
Our family travels a lot and we have stayed at different hotel brands. This is the first time me we stayed at a Residence Inn by Marriott. The hotel is clean and in a good location with a gas station, Sonic Drive-in and other stores across the street and a walking/jogging trail around the hotel. But what made this hotel a great place to stay, is Jusilla. She is just amazing and genuinely cares about the guests. I initially thought she's the Manager on Duty as I see her all over the hotel. She's at the breakfast area helping out, cleaning tables. I called the front desk one morning asking for towels and a cot and was told that it would be delivered immediately. After 20 minutes of waiting, I called back to follow-up, this time, it was Jusilla who answered the phone. In less than 5 minutes, there she was delivering the cot to our room and apologizing about the delay. Then came back immediately to bring the towels too. Thank you Jusilla for your wonderful service. We will definitely be back.
I really enjoyed my experience at this hotel. The building was quite new and had a very inviting lobby/breakfast area. My room was quit large despite being a studio. The hotel is near a busy road, but it was far enough away that I didn't hear any traffic noise. The breakfast spread was quite adequate, and the workout room was very clean and well stocked with water and towels. The only negatives I have were with the cleanliness of my room. The toilet clearly had pee water in it and hadn't been flushed. In addition there was a used bowl in my sink. I don't mind those issues but it did make me wonder what else hadn't been cleaned in my room. I still think this is a nice hotel and offered good value.
Very friendly, helpful staff. Great community areas, pool, and courtyard, which made it easy to catch up with friends in the area. Rooms were spacious and well-kept. Would highly recommend if staying in the Hazleton area.
The Residence in Hazleton may be the best find you can get in the area. The amenities are worth the price, the location is also worth the price, and the staff are very accommodating to your needs. Having to stay in this hotel for 2 weeks was a blessing for sure and I'd recommend it to any person needing a hotel in the area.
The rooms were large, comfortable, and clean. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The fire pit, tennis courts, pool, and jacuzzi are really a nice touch - my group relaxed outside on many of our free evenings. Had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend!
