The entire Front Counter Staff, Housekeeping Staff (Particularly Carmen) and the Wonderful Ladies in the Breakfast/Reception Area have provided me with EXEMPLARY SERVICE during my extended stay. They have gone out of their way to accomodate my special needs. I would highly recommend this Hotel to anyone.
I stay here often and really appreciate the staff knowing me and my crew when we stay there. Carmen in housekeeping went out of her way to fix a minor problem with a coffee pot. I stay at a lot of hotels but this is truly a favorite from clean accommodations and a welcoming staff. My dogs travel with me, and the staff is great, always greeting them too.
Let me first start off by saying that I stay more than 70 nights a year in Marriott hotels from North Jersey all the way down to Roanoke Virginia and this one by far is my favorite. My wife and I have taken our kids to Knoebels Amusement Park many times and I ALWAYS choose to stay at this location. Why you might ask is this hotel my favorite. Well, for starters, the staff at this location is by far the friendliest I have come across. From how you are greeted upon arrival to the friendly smiles and hellos from housekeeping to the kitchen staff, everyone has a permanent grin. Again, I stay more than 70 nights a year and believe me, when someone makes you feel special you know it, and they do. From the moment you walk into this hotel and smell the friendly aroma , you know its going to be a relaxing stay. The breakfast has never disappointed me and my family absolutely loves this place. If your ever staying in the Hazleton area or passing through on a long trip, this hotel needs to be part of your journey. They have never disappointed me before and I would suspect it will never happen. Regards, Frank
If you are a Marriott Rewards Member and expecting to be treated with the same warm welcome and appreciation that you normally receive at every other Marriott in the country, you should definitely avoid this Residence Inn (or any property managed by Veronica Garcia for that matter). I have no issues with the property itself. I have stayed here several times. My poor rating is based entirely on the terrible attitude of the general manager during my most recent stay. Essentially, you will never be upgraded, even if you are Platinum. She believes that the way she treats rewards members is up to the "discretion of the hotel." She will tell you there are no rooms available, until you book yourself into one and pay more for it on your phone while standing at the front desk. Then, she will say that she has the rooms available, but is not willing to put you in one... or "if you want to word it like that." Sadly, if you look at the other 1 or 2 star reviews on the Marriott site, you will notice a pattern. I am disappointed that Marriott has not done anything about her.
We had a great stay at the Residence Inn, and highly recommend the location to anyone. The room was clean and very cozy. Having breakfast available each morning was great, and all of the staff was helpful and friendly.
Driving back from Florida, we got caught in some bad weather and decided to stop and sleep for a few hours. Since the Residence Inn was the closest hotel, that's where we stopped. There were three of us and they gave us a room with a king size bed and a pull-out couch. The room was clean and the bed was great, but, the pullout couch was very thin and my friend who was stuck on it was aching all the next day. She said that the mattress was very thin and not even a child would have been comfortable on it. The desk chair looked like it had been seriously abused. They really need to update some things at this hotel, like the furniture. It worked in an emergency but I would not choose this hotel for any planned stay.
I've been there always for business and I can tell you can find everything you need in order to make your stay pleasant and comfortable. The rooms are spacious and full of everything you need, kitchen included. Internet works great, gym is fine, pool and Jacuzzi are great. Last but not least the people there make the difference, cordiality and smiles are always ready.
Stayed here overnight en route to upstate New York. The hotel is well maintained, and the staff was professional and friendly. Suite was clean and comfortable. We were travelling with our dog, and appreciate that this hotel is pet friendly. What sets this hotel apart from other Marriott properties is that it charges only a $20 pet fee per stay. This is refreshing when compared to other properties that charge $75-$150 per stay. Breakfast was standard Residence Inn fare. Very happy with our stay!
I stayed here with my wife and younger son for a night on a weekend getaway. We booked a one bedroom room, but they hotel upgraded us to a two room, two bathroom suite, which was very spacious and great for families. The bedrooms connect to opposite sides of the common living room/kitchen area, so each bedroom is quiet and private. The room was clean and in good condition. My son and I spent some time in the pool and hot tub, which was small but acceptable. However, they were out of towels when we arrived and it took quite a while for the hotel to replace them. The outdoor seating area with fire pit is a nice touch. The breakfast was standard with a decent variety. The property is set back from the main road and is separated from the gas station and fast food restaurant by a large grassy area (see photo).
I aways like to stay at Residence Inn hotels. They are comfortable and offer more space than most hotels. They also have full size refrigerators. This hotel was no exception. The room was a typical layout with seating, kitchen and bedroom areas. I requested a room away from traffic noise, and the woman at the desk changed my assigned room. I appreciated her effort. I would have given this hotel a 5 rating, except it has not been updated like many of the residence inns. It still has the burgundy colors rather than the blues colors you see in lots of the other hotels. It seems to be well maintained, but a few things are showing wear. There were tears in the seat of the office chair in our room as well as some scrapes and marks on the table and cabinets. Other than that, everything looked well cared for and very clean. There was a nice pool and outdoor seating area with a fire pit.
