We experienced 3 glorious nights at the Lodge this month. This was our first time and we most certainly will return! From the minute you enter the gate, the attendant, with his deep booming James Earl Jones-esque voice welcomes you. By the time you arrive at the front door, they are waiting for you, unpack your car and direct you to the front desk where they are waiting for you, know your names, and have a welcome packet for you which includes a tote bag w/water bottle and a sticker w/your name! By the time you walk down the hall to your room, the bell hop has hung up your clothes and put your bags in the room. The facility is immaculate, the staff are incredibly friendly and polite and never intrusive. The food is delicious! You can change the offering to your need/liking. The spa facilities are super relaxing w/several spots to lounge, relax, nap. Always tea and water, nuts and fruit available. It just goes on and on! There are 3-4 classes available every hour, a full gym, plenty of outdoor spots to wander. The pond is so relaxing...kayaking is a must! You can even pick your own cranberries! Do it all, or do nothing but relax...your choice. But to be sure, you'lll be thinking of the next time..... J & D
When my friend suggested PA as our yearly getaway, I thought she was crazy. I know she won't read this, so I have to admit, she scored big time!! The location is amazing. Trees, wildlife, fresh garden, bee hives, and a lake make you feel that you have left the city for sure! The grounds are very well taken care of and it is just a beautiful place. Now add food that is gourmet and an exercise program filled with different and fun courses and a spa full of amazing treatments. It really doesn't get any better. Great for a girlfriends weekend or a romantic getaway or a business meeting. The area that shines the most here - the people. From the front door valet to the registration to the restaurant to the farm manager to the instructors to the spa helpers - everyone is soooooo freakin nice and friendly and not the fake kind of friendly either! Everyone is helpful and funny and kind. They make you feel at home and welcome to their little piece of this paradise. It was astonishing that we got amazing service every minute of everyday here. In a world of crazy, I am most grateful for this experience with kind people!
We were a group of six ladies on an overnight visit to celebrate a birthday. From the moment we arrived we were completely taken care of. Valet notified Reception of our arrival and they were already processing our check in when we arrived at the Front Desk. I would recommend taking the 10 minute tour of the facilities to get oriented - it was really useful! There is something for everyone at the resort - a comprehensive guide of all the activities is available at Reception with numerous classes and sporting activities available as well as art classes. The Lodge offers a number of rooms if you prefer to rest up and read a good book, and there are also walking trails and a beautiful lake if you prefer the open air. We opted for some treatments at the spa and our concierge had taken great care to coordinate our appointments so that we were all within the same time slot. The spa facilities themselves are fabulous with a couple of relaxation rooms to have a sleep or read a book. There are a number of jetted tubs, steam and sauna rooms, as well as a pool. I booked the tension tamer massage which was incredible! I was a little sore afterwards but it truly did the trick on working out the numerous knots in my neck and shoulders. I followed this with the floatation tank and thoroughly enjoyed the experience! Don’t be put off if you have a tendency to be claustrophobic - you have options to have lights and music playing, and can even keep the door open to the tank if you prefer. I switched off the lights and shut the door and truly relaxed and allowed my mind to wander. It’s a great experience if you are feeling a little stressed. As part of our package, all meals were included and every one of them was excellent. The portion sizes were perfect and there were always salad bar and soup options with each meal and oatmeal and fruit for breakfast as appetizers. The staff were exceptionally polite and helpful and were happy to accommodate my request to decorate the table for dinner to celebrate the birthday girl! Truly I couldn’t fault anything about our stay and I’m desperate to go back again! If you are looking for ultimate spa luxury in gorgeous surroundings, then you would be hard pressed to top this!
We have made the Lodge our prime getaway as funds become available. The cuisine is a sensual caravan of one delight after another. There's a proprietary attitude among staff that makes for instant awareness of welcome, and service at hand. To say we were enthralled is to damn with faint praise!
Amazing!! 11 women went to The Lodge at Woodloch for a friend’s birthday celebration. From minute one - the valet took care of our car and bags without incident - I knew this place was special. The service was top notch. Everyone was so accommodating. We even had a private room for all of our meals since we were a large group. The rooms are beautiful, the food is incredible, the spa gorgeous. Every class - wall yoga, pool pole dancing, barre - were very well run. They provide with amazing robes you can walk around in, bags to carry your belongings and water bottles with stickers for your name. Every few few is spa water, nuts and fruit, anything you could want is at your fingertips. This was an amazing trip and we all want to come back!!
Have been to several resort spa destinations and this one hits just about every button. Easy driving to from most east coast major cities; right sized ( large enough to be able to offer a full range of activities and services while being a compact size); quite luxurious and beautiful facilities; delicious food with full beverage range (unlike Canyon Ranch); reasonable prices throughout; and excellent staff. Me and my SO will be returning often.
My two daughters and I went here last year for a weekend and loved it so much that we all decided we would choose it again for our annual getaway this year. We tried paddle boarding this time. When we went to the outdoor area to get our paddle boards, we told the worker there that my younger daughter had paddle boarded but my older daughter and I never had. She put us on the boards, told us what to do, and then at the end, she added “When you return to the dock, come up parallel to it.” Sounds simple, doesn’t it? Well, I tried to do that and used my paddle to push off the dock when I was heading for it, and I fell into the water, clothes on. I had trouble getting to the ladder as the bottom of the ladder was broken and there were only two or three rungs on it. There were a couple girls sitting on the dock who asked if I was ok, but the workers were further away-one taking pictures with her phone, and the other two chatting. The two girls on the dock called them and one came out to help me. I was shaken up and embarrassed and concerned that no one was there to help us. On the way out, the first woman who gave us the boards asked me “How was it?” I said “Well, I fell off.” And she said “Yeah, I noticed that!” I went to the lodge and asked to speak to a manager. I was very disappointed in her reaction. She asked if I needed medical help, and I said no. After that, she didn’t seem concerned at all. Sadly, this colored my opinion of the place this year. Additionally, our bathroom was not cleaned very well. A piece of trash was in the corner when we got there and was there when we left. The wine and chocolate pairing was just about the same as last year; and the healthy dessert class was exactly the same. We had the recipes from last year. So maybe it is more of a one time weekend resort. The restaurant was great though, and the grounds beautiful!
Several of my friends and I visited the Lodge at Woodloch for a stay to celebrate our 60th birthdays. I was the person who found and suggested your facility and I hit it out of the park. I arrived frazzled and departed refreshed. We did not even use spa services because of all the excellent offerings of things we cannot or do not do at home. I was able to try new things, such as paddle boarding and meditation. The food was excellent, the culture of friendliness and unpretentiousness was regenerative, all the activities I tried were outstanding: archery, kayaking, paddle boarding, bicycling, yoga, exercise classes, meet with the farmer, fire pit, Honestly, it was hard to choose from the many excellent activities. I just loved all the thoughtful touches employed at every corner. I loved that tipping was included in the rate, so we never had to worry about gratuities during our stay. I highly recommend and will be back.
Hi, I have stayed here a few times over the past year, and this place truly just keeps getting better! True Peace, Serenity and Luxury await you the minute you arrive. I don’t think it is possible to stay here and Not want to come back. The food is Gourmet farm to table. Just so clean and delicious, all inclusive so order whatever you like:-). The amount of activities seems unlimited, (multiple offerings per hour)and while they do have very popular classes year round.... ie Drums Alive, Barry White Yoga, different aqua classes, Seasonal offerings do change it up....... Or you can just find the many places to relax and contemplate nature in beauty and solitude. The Spa is one of the nicest I have ever seen!!! And I am a spa snob lol. Super clean! One of my favorites .... eucalyptus steam room... can you say clean your lungs. Dress code very casual.... fluffy spa robes, athletic wear. Dinner is a no robe zone however;/) Smart casual for dinner. Lil fancier if that’s your style. One of the highlights for me this weekend was Jo Coppola who led the weekend workshop. Handwriting analysis.... priceless !! She is amazing!! Only thing that costs extra here are the Spa treatments if your package does not cover it, and alcohol. This trip was with my mom, Perfect mother-daughter. Also perfect for girlfriends and couples:-)
Truthfully, I have never been to a spa before (except for one 1/2 hour massage). I took my mother-in-law for a 2 night stay in celebration of her 80th birthday and it was absolutely amazing. It is a smaller resort, no doubt, but it made it that more relaxing because you did not have to travel far for anything. It is a relatively small building with a limited number of rooms. As such, there were not a lot of people staying there and we did not ever feel that we were missing out on anything because of the number of guests. There were so many staff members to assist you, if you needed it, all of whom were super friendly and very helpful and accommodating. We had booked ahead for our 75 minute massage, mani/pedi and 75 minute facial, all of which were absolutely wonderful! My mother-in-law does not move well and all of the women providing our spa services were so helpful and understanding and all performed services on each of us according to what was appropriate based on our physical conditions. The pool was great and the hot tubs amazing! There are plenty of areas to relax, in your robe or not (many people even ate in their robes), and many with snack foods and all with citrus water/tea, etc. Regrettably, we did not try the whirlpool or the sauna, nor did we participate in any of the exercise/hiking/kayaking/archery activities, but I joined the wine/chocolate pairing class, which was great! I also walked down to the lake (which is more like a large pond) and over to the organic farm, old farm homestead and orchard. While I was at the farm, one of the workers came over to talk to me, presumably to answer any questions, but I was just exploring and felt bad that he stopped working to help me out. The food was healthier food and not gigantic portions, but neither of us were hungry (although both of us are overweight). The food ranged from very good to okay, but our general consensus was good. At breakfast, in addition to your entree, there was a bar with fresh fruit, yogurt, quiche, cakes, etc., which you are free to help yourself to. I also appreciated that you could get (good) coffee, cappuccino, etc. At lunch there was a salad bar, which included wraps in case you were extra hungry. For dinner, you received a 4 course meal - apps, salad, entree and dessert. Although there was no bar for dinner, we never left hungry. In addition, I am 99% certain that if you asked for seconds or called the front desk and said you were hungry, they would bring you something (if you didn't want to walk to one of the sitting rooms to get something). All of the wines I had with dinner were great and reasonably priced and they even had a craft beer menu (which I should have tried, but did not). There were only 2 things that I have to say the hotel could improve on: 1. The beds were incredibly high off the ground and my mother in law needed a step stool to get into the bed (which was not so safe at her age and in her physical condition). Truthfully, I did not ask about getting a room with a lower bed, so that is on me - they may have offered it, but I didn't ask; and 2. The pool (which is on the smaller side, although not tiny - and there were only 4 people in it when we visited) is 4' deep everywhere (there is no shallow end). For short people, there is nowhere in the pool they can stand except on the stairs. It prevented my mother-in-law from enjoying the pool, since she was scared of not being able to stand comfortably with her head above water. However she did enjoy the hot tub/waterfall instead. All in all I would totally recommend this small, but super attentive and beyond relaxing resort. There is always something to do if you are not having spa services and I felt the stay was worth the price. We loved every minute of it, and I am certain I will be back! Thanks for a fabulous stay!
