Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa at Keauhou Bay

Absolutely beautiful. Grounds well kept. Pool areas, hot tubs, and waterslide were great features. Staff was very helpful. Trolley service was a nice feature as well. Will definitely recommend to anyone staying on the Big Island. Plan on returning to the Sheraton for some more good times.

I can't complain about the staff, they were all very nice & friendly. This just wasn't what I was expecting, on prior trips I have stayed in a condo. I much prefer this, as I don't like going out to eat for every meal. Also there was no beach near by. This is a good place to stay if you have children as they have things to occupy them. Paying a resort fee on top of the room, plus parking fee ups your stay by almost $50 per day, yes I knew this ahead of time so it wasn't a surprise, but just didn't think it was worth the price.

Nice clean comfortable stay. Early check out of noon, inconvenienced us related to our late flight home.

We stayed 7 nights at this location and the experience was very disappointing. The location by itself is great but they overcharge for everything: In addition to charging $30 a day for resort fees, they now charge $15 a day for parking!!! They are desperate to cash in on absolutely everything and this resort is simply not worth it. The room was okay but the walls are very poorly insulated. We could hear the couple next door do their thing as if we were there. In all very disappointing experience. I would rather go to other resorts in the area, even if they are more dated than this one. Overall experience is better.

We were given an upgraded room on the top floor overlooking the ocean. All the staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel architecture was a wonderful surprise.

Relaxing fulfilling stay. I have no bad thing to say about the Sheraton Kona what so ever. This is as near premier accommodation as one can get without paying super premium prices.

Found a sock next to bed from previous guest, could be an easy oversight by cleaning crew. Valet crew was awesome and friendly, there's also an option to self park. Great location with a beautiful view. No direct beach access for swimming as there are lava rocks boarding the ocean line, but beach nearby. Cute market outside of hotel for hawaiian goods on Wednesdays if you're there during week. Excellent night manta ray snorkel outside of hotel if you're up for it. Good concierge staff.

We only stayed the one night as our reservation at the Wyndham wasn't until the next day. Check in was easy and the staff were very friendly. The room was nice, but nothing spectacular, maybe a little dated, standard bathroom. We didn't really mind because who wants to spend a lot of time in their room in Hawaii? The balcony had great views and in the morning, a bunch of mongooses run atound the lawn area because people feed them. There are two pools and a little kiddie beach pool. One pool is a little more shaded and the main pool has a spectacular view of the ocean. We were tired from traveling and this was a great place to lounge on our first day there. Our daughter enjoyed the water slide. The pool is a little regimented in that you have to get a wrist band to be in the pool and have to check out towels. The staff explained this is because there are a lot of events for non guests (they have a luau on site on certain nights). We were tired and hoping to just do room service for dinner but that is not available. Ended up eating at the hotel restaurant Ray's on the Bay and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. This was one of the best meals we had in Hawaii. The resort is a little isolated and there are not a lot of options near by for food. We ate breakfast at the hotel, buffet, overpriced, good but not great. All in all, a nice stay and a great start to our vacation.

The Hotel grounds were very well kept and beautiful. The Hotel rooms could use an update but not bad.

Mediocre staff, rude at the front desk and pool bar. Hated being there, couldn't shake this feeling I had. Turns out it's built on ancient battlegrounds, basically a graveyard. Seriously bad energy, this is my fourth trip to Hawaii and ive never been so excited to leave. Even my husband and son felt it. I feel like that should be disclosed, I would have never booked there had I known this. It sucks to walk around a resort you're paying a ton of money to be at and not understand why you can't stand being there. Toilet seats old and chipping, probably not disinfect able at that point. Dirty lanai and uncomfortable beds

Hotel was good. Breakfast was average. Coffee was not hot. Cheese on omlette was not melted.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We spent 5 days on the big island for our honeymoon and the Sheraton Kona was a great resort. Lots of amenities at the resort itself; incredible pool, friendly staff, plenty to do and see. Room was okay. Pillows and mattress were subpar but it didn't ruin our trip. Free parking, free internet, close to tons of restaurants and the airport. We'd recommend this as a place to stay if you're looking for a less expensive option.

We loved the hotel and had a great time, but we were hit for a $35 a day which we did not anticipate. Wish we would have known ahead of time. No one said anything about that charge.

Enjoyed our stay at Sheraton. Went to the Fed Cup to watch women's tennis that was awesome hope Sheraton will sponsor them back should they return to Hawaii. We really need more pro tennis in Hawaii and hoping Kona will bring them.

Loved the stay. The location was beautiful. Staff was very helpful and friendly without being pushy. Not too crowded, which was nice, but probably because it was early December. Mainly younger and middle aged with occasional kids.

They would charge us for the minutest things that are required for people vacationing like a microwave for example. Though the room itself is neat, the hotel is old and could easily be avoided in favor of more contemporary looking, stylish and cheaper hotels in the area.

This was our first trip to Hawaii. The resort is very nice with a great setting. It is in an older part. The resort itself is older but it has been kept up. There is not a lot around the resort but we liked that part. You have to drive to the tourist areas but when its busy there you have a nice quite place to relax at. Our room was ocean front, awesome views. Most nights the manta ray boats was straight out our window. we could see the rays from our room. If you are looking for a quite clean place to stay it would be hard to beat for the money.

It helps to have a car when visiting the Sheraton Kona. Downtown Kona is about 20 minutes away (lots of shops and restaurants). The airport is about 40 minutes from the hotel. It would have been nice to have more restaurant options. The coffee café is nice and services light breakfast and great coffee. If the hotel is busy, self parking can be difficult. There is no beach, but the pool is decent. It could use some more chairs though.

The only complaint about our room was the low water pressure/temperature in the shower. Couldn't get very hot water. Other than that, great hotel & staff.
