As it gets really hot in Havana in August the pool at Cohiba is great! Nice to have both a bar and a small restaurant by the pool so you dont need to move from the sunbeds. There are both sunbeds with umbrellas and cabanas to use for free and you get towels from the pool boy.

We had a junior suite that qualifies to level service and you can use the lounge at 20th floor. The room was nice with nice view. The air conditioner couldn’t cool the whole room probably. With level service we had a la carte breakfast in the lounge, that was really nice and relaxing. They were also open during the day with snacks and coffee and soft drinks. There is a Cuban show at the club in the hotel, next door. Free entry for hotel guests. The pool is ok, but in desperate need for renovation. Plenty of sun beds at the pool. Also several ok restaurants in short walking distance.

Very good. The area was good as well as service. The air was broken at our first room and we got switched to a suite. Very nice view. Very central location near Old Havana. Taxis were just parked in front and mobilizing was great and prompt

The hotel is located 15minutes drive far from Havana Vieja and on the Malecon. Though the hotel is quite ild facilities are quite up to date and rooms are big. Breakfast has a fine variety and when we were there we had live music every morning. We never used the shuttle to the city center but a taxi costs 10CUC (about 10euros) The swimming pool is very pleasant too. Definitely a nice option in la Havana!

i stayed at this Melia (Cohiba) and the other Melia (Habana). Pros and cons for each. But if I had to pick, I would choose Melia Habana because of the pool. Melia Cohiba is closer to more action and closer to the downtown/ center city area and the building is a tower. so everything is close and tight and you will get better views of the city at Cohiba. However, at Cohiba, there is only 1 pool and it is not that big. It is nice and has a luxury feel. But there is no swim up bar, even though a waiter will come and bring you drinks, etc. But at Melia Habana, the pool is a lot bigger, there is a swim up bar. But in Melia Habana, i felt there is less restaurants and things are spread apart a bit. But I like that.

This is a nice tower hotel situated in the malecón. Has a Modern Lobby. Taxi stand. Great service. Has Restaurants, bar, pool and gym. The Rooms are spacious but It’s an old hotel. Our air conditioning barely worked. It wasn’t cold, Just fresh. Stay at “the level”. It has an exclusive floor, check in, concierge, lounge and nicer rooms.

Fabulous hotel, centrally located, amazing attractions, amazing food, wonderful and friendly staff, safe environment, lots of restaurants nearby and in walking distance, I absolutely enjoyed this place. Definitely will be back

By all standards, this is a luxury hotel with a beautiful lobby and great bars. Remembering we're in Cuba, certain considerations must be extended to management and maintenance. Repairs and supplies are probably very expensive and/or unavailable. But something must be done regarding general maintenance. (We stayed in two different rooms during our trip because we were in Havana two nights and then returned after two nights in Cienfuegos.) Both rooms showed signs or wear and tear but there was no excuse for clogged drains. We reported this to housekeeping but nothing changed. The second room also had a major malfunction with the toilet indicating that some general plumbing problems exist. The air conditioning was excellent. The pool area has many areas with missing tiles, crumbling concrete and several broken lounge chairs. Having stayed in lesser hotels on a previous trip, and after visiting a nearby hotel, Melia Cohiba rates very highly. Staff always seemed willing to help and did so in a courteous manner. Security is present throughout public access areas.

The Melia Cohiba near downtown Havana is an elegant facility with a clear desire by the personnel to satisfy the clientele. Accommodations are excellent given the restrictions placed by a deteriorated economy and the local politics. Nevertheless, cleanness should remain a prime priority. When we arrived at the Junior suite on the 12th floor of the hotel, the first thing we found was that the room’s floor had not been swept appropriately. We were welcome by a death cockroach, a piece of gum, and a chocolate wrapping on the floor’s suite. Lack of maintenance was also evident at the outdoor pool where cracked tiles, discarded empty plastic glasses, and debris in the floor area were seen all over the place. While I am sympathetic to the limitations that are imposed to the Hotel personnel by the prevailing political environment, a greater effort should be placed in keeping this nice Hotel clean.

For the standards of Cuba, must be the top. Service, view and accessibility at its highest. Civilization and internet. In the heat of the day, they let us rest in the lobby cafe, communicate with our family and get something to drink and eat. Expensive but totally worth it! You can also exchange money or buy a wifi card.
