Drove as far as we could and then found this gem! If I were to have to stay in a hotel for an extended period this would be the spot! Courteous staff and anything I could possibly need to make it feel like home.
We had traveled all day,and parking was hard to find. Wehad reservations for a King suite, and a double. When we arrived there were no carts to unload our suitcases, and oxygen machine. We ask at the desk, and she seemed very unconcerned that we would have to carry a 75 Lb machine to room on 3rd floor. We looked on each floor, and finally found a cart to unload. I was told when I made reservations that we were getting two double queens, and a king suite. The beds in the double were xl twins, and the king mattress needed to be replaced. None of us slept well. The refrigerator and sink was a plus! We have stayed at the hotel next door to this, and was very satisfied with it. We won't be staying here again!
Nice clean place. The staff are extremely nice. And one of the best customer service I have had in a long time. Thanks you Bailey, Sophia, Karen, and the great housekeeping staff that made my stay outstanding. Highly recommend this place. Great access of the highway. Ms Ragland: your staff are wonderful!!
Went to Candlewood because it's just our favorite place to stay, as usual we were not disappointed. Great location, quiet area, and friendly staff. The rooms were clean and spacious, with a full fridge and stove top. The only complaint I have is that we had to go to the hotel next door to use the pool, however they were very polite and even offered towels.
Spent 2 nights while attending a convention--super easy check in, rooms are large with kitchenettes, bathrooms large and the beds are very comfortable! No daily housekeeping but you can get extra towels and toiletries at the desk! Also puzzles and games!!coffee in the lobby and 4 cup coffeemaker in the room--only one package of coffee so ask for extra if staying longer! Only one complaint: internet was lousy--on and off, erratic--we were on floor 4 so don't know if that was the problem!! They need a better provider !!
We came to Hattiesburg to see our son graduate from college. We wanted a king suite that was roomy for 4 of us. This was a great hotel choice. The room was extremely clean and there was plenty of space. It has a kitchenette with a full refrigerator, a table/countertop where we could sit and eat, a living room area with a fold out sofa and a recliner and a separate room for the king sized bed. There were 2 closets so we could get all of our clothes out of the way. It was great. It also had a gym and laundry which we didn't have time to use and they said that we could use the pool at the hotel next door, though we didn't have time for this either. They don't have daily maid service in the rooms so we had to go down and get towels a couple of times, although one day housekeeping did knock on the door and ask if we needed anything. The lobby is really small, kind of a bare-bones type of place, not someplace you'd invite people over to hang out for a while. These are the only 2 (very small) negatives about the place. Overall, it was great! It was quiet without street noise or noise from other people in the hotel.
I have traveled to many different places and always chose the more "upscale" hotels until last year when on a trip with my parents we stayed in a Candlewood Suites on an unplanned overnight. I was very impressed by how clean the room was and the beds are exceptionally comfortable which was a happy surprise due to my back issues. They are an extended stay hotel so they do not offer a hot breakfast but they do have a little area where you can purchase a snack, drink, or on the go breakfast item. The staff were extremely courteous and the location is great with several restaurants located nearby.
We couldn't sleep at all because a large group of guests kept running up and down the hallway screaming, yelling, fighting.. Pretty much anything you could imagine. It sounded like this was happening in the parking lot outside our window, as well. This went on until the early morning hours so we didn't get much sleep. The front desk staff shouldn't allow this type of behavior in the parking lot or inside the hotel. It is unacceptable! We will not stay here again.
The staff was friendly, however very slow with check-in and operations. Although the rooms were non-smoking, the entire third floor reeked of cigarettes. We had to check in late around 10:00, and the parking lot had several people drinking and acting out, so we were pretty uncomfortable being outside of the hotel with our kids. The beds were comfy and rooms were mostly clean, with the exception of the countertops.
We have been visiting here for several years on the way to Gulf Shores. Great pet friendly hotel with excellent grass for the dogs. Rooms are very well appointed and beds are very comfortable. Wifi was easy to access and worked great. Great location with easy access to I59 and Highway 49. Always look forward to staying here.
