A one night stay proved very enjoyable with a spacious room and a delicious continental breakfast. Coffee always available 24/7. Pleasant staff and easy check-in. Check rates in advance as rates tend to be misquoted. Book directly with hotel.
This hotel is gorgeous. I loved the older feel of the hotel. Our room was great. The only flaw was the cabinet where the TV is housed. The doors only open so far which makes it hard to move around when the doors are open. You have to close them to get around between the bed and the TV cabinet. We dined at Twigs and it was pretty good. If I am in the area again, I will definitely stay again.
I travel to Connecticut often for business but I usually stay in one of the chain hotels. For a change of pace I decided to stay at the Simsbury Inn this time. It is a quaint inn off the beaten path and looks more like an old mansion than a hotel. The lobby is warm and inviting and the staff are super friendly and helpful. My room had a four poster king size bed (with a matress topper) with night tables and lamps, almost like being at home. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. One night there were fresh cookies left on the bed and another night there was chocolate. You can't beat that. Although small, the Inn offers many amenities including a gym, pool and several eating venues. In addition, they offer free continental breakfast as well as snacks, coffee and a variety of teas throughout the day. I ate at the Twig Lounge, the food was good and the atmosphere was pleasant so it was not uncomfortable eating alone. Another amenity they offer is shuttle service. They took me to my office and even came back to the office to pick me up and take me to the airport. They will also pick you up at the airport. It was great to not worry about getting around and they were extremely accomodating. It was a very different experience, but a very enjoyable one. I will definitely stay there again.
This 100 bedroom hotel has a cosy old world charm typical of New England. Ample parking and close to Simsbury centre. A warm greeting as you step back in time to a less rushed world. Yes it has a small pool and gym like most hotels do but that's not why you are here. It caters for weddings so is probably very busy at weekends. During the week it's a nice place to hide from the world.
We spent several days here while my husband was in Simsbury on a business trip. It is a nice place and clean. Our daughters enjoyed the swimming pool and lounging around the patio. We ate at one of the restaurants and it was very tasty. The free continental breakfast leave a little to be desired but they do have a breakfast restaurant if you want to order and pay for your breakfast. Would stay here again.
The front desk clerks greeted us in a friendly manner. The lobby is beautiful, which includes a small cafe and a cozy fireplace and seating area. On the first floor, they have a very nice restaurant and an indoor pool/jacuzzi. You may go outside and relax by the pool area under the stars and cute little lights that are strung up along the patio, which gives great ambiance. The also have a private salon for hair and nails, which is great for brides to be. Our room was clean and smelled very fresh. However, when laying down in the bed, I was very disappointed. The mattress was beyond firm, to the point that it felt like I was sleeping on the box spring...or the floor. I tossed and turned all night and did not get any sleep, due to the discomfort caused by the mattress. We stayed in a room with two double beds, and both mattresses were the same. The posterbed blocked the view of the tv from the bed, which was also inconvenient. Due to that, I would not stay at the hotel again. What good are all of the amenities if I can't enjoy them due to lack of sleep?
We were visiting my daughter who is working at a kids camp 30mins away. What a gem, we enjoyed every moment of our stay, we river tubed, kayaked, biked and hiked. Pam is the most warm and wonderful host, a delight on a jet lagged morning. The breakfast cakes and gluten free options baked freshly each morning are divine, served alongside healthier options such as eggs and granola. Our room was very comfortable and spacious with coffee machine, iron, hairdryer and easy parking. We enjoyed our stay so much we are going back instead of finding somewhere a little closer to our daughter Thankyou Pam x
We spent the night for a quick anniversary getaway. The room was lovely! Would definitely return. The night we were there there were several wedding groups staying. The only recommendation is that when they have a full house, they should move the continental breakfast somewhere other than the lobby.
Went to a luncheon at the Simsbury Inn that was held in the Laurel Ballroom. The food was terrific, wait staff very attentive. Room was beautifully decorated and organization and flow of over 150 diners went smoothly and efficiently.
I love historic hotels and the Simsbury doesn't disappoint. I enjoy the warm wood and real brass fixtures. Staff was very nice, parking was free and easy. Room service menu is a bit limited. Area around the hotel is lovely.
