Querky but comfortable B&B

I stayed here one night as it is close to a customer I was visiting the next day. First, it is a bed and breakfast place and not a hotel. The place is not staffed after 17.00 and you get your key in a lock box. They send you a code. There are plenty of bars and restaurants around the place so you can get dinner and drinks within a few paces. The place looks like it used to be an old office block. Wood panelled, high doors and loads of room. My room was comfortable enough, although sparsely furnished. The TV did not work and there was nobody there to help. The bed was really comfortable and the place was very quiet despite being in a busy area. Breakfast was ok although a decent coffee machine would make it better!

Not too happy!!

The hotel was ok, but not that good. The reception was only open 30 to 60 mins in the morning, had the pick up the keys from next door pub. Had no fridge, kitchen, proper shower or anything fancy. So I think for the money I paid it wasn't worth it at all, very disappointed.

Nice stay beds very hard

Check in staff were excellent ...we were staying as attending a near by convention. Slightly awkward with no parking for our van so had to search the streets to park. The main issue was the beds were so hard and made it difficult to have a decent night's sleep .. They definitely need to invest in toppers ! The hotel cost expected and on par with others which means they should invest in some decent mattress or topper.

Avalon Avalon

The hotel is a gorgeously refurbished old buildings with a historic atmosphere. The wood floors were fantastic. Staff and breakfast were great also.

Not such a great impression of Hannover

We rented the "apartment" that was being offered by the hotel. Once we checked in, we were told to go outside, cross the street, enter a numbered door, go up 2 flights of stairs ...it was ridiculous. The stench in the front lobby was like dirty diapers and the ride up to the 2nd floor was gross. The apartment is actually located among permanent residences but that was not too bad. Once in the room - the sickly sweet smell of the air freshener was stifling. Not sure what smell was being covered up but it was awful. There was leftover food in the fridge and in the cupboard...overall just a very strange experience. The hotel may be great but stay away from the apartment.

Perfect connection to city

Difficult to find! As I arrived in the night, I could not find the hotel even after 3 rounds by car, there is NO WELL-VISIBLE SIGN. Even on foot, I passed it without noticing - bad!! Just two small texts IN ONE WINDOW(!) where nobody looks. It has no parking place and no lift! But there is a garage nearby for just 10 EUR/24 hours. The room was big, but very cold and it took time till it got warm enough by turning on the heating by myself. Clean, free coffee and tee available, breakfast sufficient. The very close underground station is the biggest advantage!
You will not notice the text in the window. I expected "HOTEL" somewhere..

Bilder die im Internet über das Hotel Avalon sind, entsprechen in keinster Weise der Realität. Unser Zimmer war sehr klein und mit wahllos zusammen gestellten Möbel eingerichtet. Ein braunes Bett, daneben ein weißer Nachttisch, ein völlig verkratzter Schreibtisch in dunkelbraun und ein lieblos angemalter Kleiderschrank in weiß und hellblau. Nur ein Stuhl zum Sitzen. Frühstück war okay. Die Dame die das Frühstück gemacht hat, was sehr freundlich.

Schön, sauber, freundlich - was braucht man mehr

Das Hotel liegt neben Listener Platz und ist schnell zu erreichen. Die Ausrichtung ist sehr charmant. Leider keine Klimaanlage wenn es zu warm sein sollte. Internet ist in manchen Zimmer nicht so schnell. Rezeption ist bis 18:00 besetzt, falls sie später kommen, wir der Schlüssel für sie hintergelegt. Allgemein sauber, ruhig und freundlich. Der Früstuckbuffet ist nicht gross im Vergleich zu großen Hotelketten , aber ausreichend.
