The hotel is on a walking distance from West Lake. Restaurants and other shopping places are close by too. The overall services including the food (especially the breakfast), complementary facilities, and items, staff, cleaning, and ambiance were absolutely outstanding. Great for business meetings and stays. I personally loved the bathroom accessories that they had. Definitely, recommend to everyone out there.
We specified strictly non smoking rooms when we booked because we have a baby travelling with us. We ourselves are quite sensitive to cigarette smoke as well. We were quite worried as a lot of people were smoking at the lobby even if it is indoor. Not sure if the law does not forbid them from smoking indoor or the authorities just do not give a damn. So when checked in, we asked to confirm if the level that we are allocated at is non smoking level and the receptionist said yes. However, the moment we reached our level, we could see some guests smoking and the whole floor were filled with cigarette smoke. We complained at the reception as they did mention our floor is non smoking level. However, the manager just simply responded by saying they will look into it. Needless to say, nothing much they can do and there are still guests smoking at our floor. I know it is hard to stop their guests from smoking or this should be something that ought to be controlled by government as the locals smoke so heavily. However, still kudos to them for upgrading my sister and her baby to business room as the room that was initially allocated to them were too stuffy and my nephew could not sleep. Overall an average stay I would say.
Strategic location along the main road surrounded by lots of shops . Near West lake .Room clean and spacious. Bathroom accessories working well .Free wifi but access to WI Fi too complicated . Tv has many Chinese channels. Good variety of foods for breakfast Restaurant on 19 th floor overlooking West Lake . Mr Gao Wei who is very helpful and friendly who helped to book Impression west lake performance tickets (360 rmb) and West lake one day tour (190 rmb) with mandarin speaking tour guide including pickup from hotel. One stop service indeed .
The hotel is located about 10 mins to West Lake and 5 mins to a major metro station. It’s at a very easy access from the High speed Rail station by subway with many food options and shopping malls around. The breakfast is good but can be crowded sometimes. They also provide drinking water tab which is a big bonus in China which we do not need to worry about buying water all the time. We booked the theme room, which is level 18 with a balcony facing West Lake. However, the two days we stayed reached 30 degrees and were very humid in early April. The aircon wasn’t working and the room temperature kept around 29.5 degrees at night. When I called customer service I was told they hasn’t turned on the cooling system. The customer service did apologise to us and upgraded us to a lower level suite room. Overall I am happy with the service, and if the weather wasn’t warm I wouldn’t even need to cooling. But even in the spacious upgraded room, the humidity and temperature were still quite unbearable. I hope the hotel can be more flexible with the timeline for cooling system especially with the extreme weather like our stay.
All the good comments posted by other guests are true. I was particularly impressed that they have a separate tap for drinking water in the wash basin. It’s true that the hotel has disabled the air con and ventilation system except for the summer months. We have to open the window to allow outside air to ventilate the room. Choose a room that faces the mountain or the lake if you want to be away from the main road.
When we checked in, the reception noticed that there were a total of 3 adults; my wife, myself and my mother-in law. Although, we booked a deluxe twin-sharing, the staff at the reception was really kind to upgrade us to a family room just so that we could have a comfortable stay. And comfortable indeed it was! The bed was really plushy and they would serve fresh fruits every day. The hotel also provides a fabulous spread of complimentary buffet breakfast at the top floor with a stunning view of the famous Hangzhou West Lake. It is just a 5-minute's walk to the LongXiangQiao station; which is also surrounded by malls, cafes and restaurants. The West lake is also within 10-minute's walk from the hotel. What's more, there's a night market just behind the hotel bustling with life every evening. In short, fantastic location, fabulous staff and great comfort!
It was my first visit to China! To meet my best friend I tied up my luggage and went for an adventure from UAE! Basically I am from Nepal. I have landed in Beijing airport and somehow I felt discriminated by passport control officer as they looked at my passport and wondering how I reached there! However, European were passed without any hassle! Moral of the story Even you spend more money than European you will be still treated differently! Finally I arrived hangzhou after tight security check. What a lovely city with beautiful lake. I booked online hanchuan hotel. And I found it very clean and professional hotel. Specially big thank to housekeeping staff who looked after my room! My room had a view of a street market and I have been there due to curiosity and found amazing. Good hotel and good staff. I definitely recommend this hotel. See you guys soon if not bothered by Chinese custom again!
I searched a lot about hotels in Hangzhou before I got here, and I found out Huachen Hotel had a great value and convenient location. A few steps away from the west lake grand music fountain and big shopping malls. The guest service agents were always happy to answer all different kinds of questions. Thanks for the lovely fruit plate; however, I didn’t find a fruit knife in the room, lol. The decoration was outdated but very clean. Excellent job and I will still choose Huachen when I visit Hangzhou next time.
I stayed in this hotel for 2N. It is a typical 4-star standard hotel but the hotel staff and the location of the hotel makes up for that extra star. My family and I arrived at the hotel 2 hours before the check-in time. But the hotel staff made sure that we checked in the midst of clearing the room, we were able to check in after just 30 minutes wait. When we needed a taxi, they also brave the rain to hail one for us. Really kind indeed. As for location, it's a short walk to the West Lake. Near the hotel along Ping Hai Road is also a row of restaurants serving delicious tasting food. As the weather was cool and nice, we took a 40 minutes stroll from the hotel to He Fang Street Market.
Staff quite friendly & helpful though hotel lobby is not that brightly lit up. Location ok. Not much choice for morning breakfast around the hotel but ok for lunch & dinner. Hotel has 7-seater van service to airport or train station. This is real good for big family, travelling in a big group or having big luggages.
