Location is just a short walk to West Lake, the metro and the bus station. There are 2 non smoking floors and we had no problem being placed on one of them and having rooms close together. Front desk speak some English but it is limited. If you catch bus 7 to Lingyin temple, be sure to get on the bus heading towards terminus of Lingyin temple. We got on the wrong direction (drivers don’t speak English) but he let us stay on at the railway terminus so we took the long way to the temple. The bus is the way to go, though. Only 2 yuan each way. There is a night market right behind the hotel with street food and all kinds of wares. Many restaurants within walking distance, but may not find menus in English. The places with pictures work well. Shower was great with plenty of hot water and wonderful pressure. All in all a very pleasant stay.
convenient location to west lake, ie 20 minutes walk where you will find lots of restaurants. should try Grandma's restaurant by west lake. It is cheap and tasty but always long line ups and menu is in Chinese. hotel staff can speak a bit of English. most guest are Chinese so breakfast buffet are more Asian type.
Awesome location. Only 10 min walk to the West Lake. Great breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets. Professional and very friendly staff. Spacey and comfortable rooms. Except for the slow internet everything was EXCELLENT!
My Husband and I visited Hangzhou for a vacation and stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. Our initial booking was for 1 night and due to flight cancellation, we had to make last-minute changes to the itinerary. The hotel staff was gracious to book us for another night at the same discounted rate as offered for initial booking. LOCATION: The biggest selling point for the hotel is the location. The hotel is located about 4 blocks from the subway station (8-minute walk) and 6 blocks to the West Lake (10-minute walk). Bus 103 stops just in front of the hotel and goes to Ling Yin Temple (RMB3). The area is surrounded by many restaurants, bars, and bakeries. Many Shopping malls, high-end designer shops, and fancy restaurants are towards the West Lake direction. There is a small supermarket directly across the road from the hotel. The Wuhan night market located at Renhe Rd is just a few minutes’ walk from the side exit of the hotel. AMENITIES: The hotel ensures a comfortable stay - from a well-arranged check-in to a smooth check-out. Most of the rooms are smoking. The breakfast is served on the 19th floor from 0630hrs onwards. The spread is a mix of Chinese and Western dishes. One could sight West Lake from a section on the 19th floor while enjoying breakfast. There is also another restaurant on the second floor serving Chinese cuisine and a coffee lounge by the reception on the ground floor. The hotel also has a direct shuttle bus from the airport (boarding In front of T3) to Grand Metro park hotel and about 300m walk to the hotel. ROOM: Rooms are decent sized. The bed was clean and comfortable. This best feature of the room – it’s extremely well lit. Our room had a small sitting area with 2 chairs and a small round table. The usual toiletries were provided, with complimentary water, coffee, and tea sachets. The room is equipped with air conditioning, fly screens, TV (with English channels including HBO), refrigerator and a safe. Lots of little extra touches in the rooms which made it feel quite luxurious. In the bathroom, shower had great pressure. STAFF: The staff is helpful and courteous. Both the Front staff and Concierge are fluent in English. The Concierge provided us with a map of the city and drew bus maps for visiting various tourist spots – Broken Bridge, Ling Yin Temple, Longjing tea fields and Pagoda. TIPS: Any add-ons are expensive - laundry is ridiculously expensive. The room has many items for purchase from bottled water to detergent. Never seen a hotel with so many items in the room that are for sale (look for the tiny sticker). Would really put the price up if you took advantage of all the extras.
Stayed for 3N in a deluxe room on the 15th(non-smoking) floor. Room was clean and had a small sitting area with 2 chairs and a small round table. Bed was comfortable. The usual toiletries were provided, with complimentary water, coffee and tea sachets. Buffet breakfast on the 19th floor (from 6.30 am onwards) was great with a wide variety of food and brewed coffee included. One could sight West Lake from a section on the 19th floor, while enjoying your breakfast. The front desk staff helped to book tickets for the Impression West Lake performance for us and gave advice on how to travel to venue of performance. For those watching the performance, please be advised to pre-arrange for transport to take you back to your hotel, if it's located some distance away as its very difficult to get a cab/catch a public bus after the performance (due to the very bad traffic jam at area). Location of hotel is good - easy walk to mrt/nearby bus stops to various scenic attractions. The Wuhan night market located at Renhe Rd is just a few minutes walk from the side exit of th hotel. West Lake is about 10 min walk away. Highly recommend for one to stay here on your visit to Hangzhou.
Checked in a couple of hours early which was great after a long train journey across China. We were originally on 3rd floor but was moved to another room on 16th floor as the room keys failed 3 times after going up and down to reception Finally got room 1616 which over looked West Lake. Room has the most comfortable mattresses and pillows. I woke up thinking I was in my own bed. Room has complementary bottles of water and tea and coffee station. There is a fridge with room enough to put your own stuff. Air con not working so well no and was playing up throughout our stay. The tv has BBC world news channel which also was fixed within 5 minutes of telling the hotel. Free wifi. Hotel also brought a bowl of fruit to our room every day which was great. This hotel is nice and is right in the heart of everything Hotel serves a Very good breakfast with so much to choose from. I would stay here again:) Hotel rooms need modernising though Taxi 233511 cab I_D charged us 150 yuan and did not have his meter on. Hotel reception told us to expect to pay between 120 to 150 max fof just a 30 minute journey I remember hirig a cab for a whole day in Beijing for just 600 yuan last year. Taxi bloody rip off thd tourist. Deposit returned on checkout. Fan was given as a gift when checking out Make sure you tell reception of any damage in room as big deposit is taken from card at check-in
Stayed in level16 2 night and changed 1 night to level 17. The bathroom glass door not able to seal properly and water spills out during showering. There is some smells in the toilet and the bed in level17 are hard . Level 16 bed are good. I don't know why got two different quality. The corridor lights are dim and not brights. Most likely will not be back again. Location is ok
Quite a good choice, comfortable rooms, but be sure to indicate clearly in the booking if you must have a non-smoking room, as those are in minority. This is a chinese 4 star hotel, so most rooms are for smokers. No swimming pool, can choose many movies on demand what is nice added bonus. Good breakfast if somewhat disorganized. Nice stay close to Westlake.
I read the reviews before booking, and I have read again, now that we have been at this hotel. I don't get the good reviews. Maybe your viewpoint depends if you are Asian or Western. This hotel is very much aimed at the Chinese market. Breakfast : ample, but very low quality. For a 4 star hotel, it is shameful. Counter after counter piled with basic, low end ingredients. If you cooked this at home, you would be ashamed. Hotels should offer better than this. TV : over 159 channels, 99.9% in Chinese. I found the BBC and 1 movie channel. That's it. Location : not particularly convenient as it is not close to any of the top 25 attractions the city has to offer. Dated: Old fashioned, and the rooms stink of cigarette smoke. Upselling : look carefully, very carefully at extras in the room. They are all not included and chargeable. I don't recall being in another hotel room, which is doubling as a showroom. Conclusion : if you are Chinese you will like it. If you are Asian you will tolerate it. If you are not either of the above you will be extremely disappointed. Avoid
located 10 mins from subway station & main shopping strip. Staff were friendly & helpful. Rooms are well appointed. Bathrooms have the added bonus of a drinking water tap. View from breakfast area is excellent of West Lake & food itself is great with lots of western & eastern choices. My only complaint is the general lack of seating in the lobby area for a relatively large hotel. Yes you can sit in the bar area but not unless you're willing to buy a drink.
- Close to West Lake
- Free WiFi and wired Internet in rooms and public areas
