check in pleasant, smell of paint, so is obviously going through a refurbishment, room clean tidy & spacious, services very short walk and you get what you pay for at a motorway services, shower had good power, clean soft towels, comfy bed and a good nights sleep, check out simple. car damaged from check in to check out, check in process not done correctly, car registration taken for parking, but not on form, so was not notified of damage till walk outside to car to leave, possibly write off, morning staff were most helpful, lady that was on from 10pm to morning was not really helpful, attitude was that not her problem. apart from that pleasant stay.
Like most Days Inn sites, Southampton Rownhams could really do with a little refreshing, but, this site is in the top third in my opinion. It's a cosy little retreat along the motorway, and really, I quite like knowing I've been booked in here. My second visit proved consistently high standards. All is good. Parking is directly outside. Reception is warm and welcoming, staff have been great. As a Diamond member, I get my complementary drink and choccy (Makes me laugh :-) The room I stayed in was clean, comfortable, and quite cosy. It also was quiet - affording a good nights sleep. Tea and Coffee available in the room, also a TV. The bathroom fully serviceable, although I would encourage housekeeping to keep an eye on the shampoo state more regularly - so that guests don't find there's none (Whilst already under the shower!). Simple mistake, and all good things make up for it! A very short walk brings you to the rest station where restaurants and a shop are available. Really enjoy this site, and will continue to book here. Well done!
We used the days inn for 5 nights while we was working in southampton ideal base for is as only a 10 min journey to where we was working, room was a twin room very comfortable and clean, good shower complimentary tea coffee in the room beds where very comfortable, we was issued with a breakfast / evening meal token which you can use at the food outlets in the service station which we did having a evening meal every night which was very tasty especally the fish n chips .for the hotel i would highly recommend
We stopped here for one night en route to elsewhere. Lovely staff (special thanks Debbie and Gena) and good sized room that was clean and in good order. Loads of room for 2 adults and 2 young teenagers. On the M27 but it was so quiet in the room, you would never know. We will definitely stay here again. Beats other budget hotels hands down.
Clean and comfortable with very friendly and helpful staff would recommend and will use again. Unfortunately we received a parking fine on return from our holiday but I rang the hotel and they have told us they will make sure it is cancelled so no harm done.
Abdolutely 10 out 10 across the board!! Having travelled over 1000 kms from South France .plus. 4 hour Ferry crossing we were rather shattered . Due to a sudden family bereavement stress was quite high too. Arrived 2200 at night and no idea where we were staying and found Days Inn. Receptionist was fantastic . Room.was equal to 5*..large,. ..extremely clean and warm. Will probably stay on return trip providing Ferry is available. Bed was so very comfortable so we slept well. Morning staff were equally efficient and so very helpful. The voucher at £7.50 instead of £10 to be spent in nearby restaurant was great value.
Overall stay was fine for what we needed it for - very basic but ideal for taking our toddler to Peppa Pig world. When we arrived to check in our room was not ready - staff seemed confused and took a while to get our room sorted. We were charged twice for our room - only just got the refund back now and we stayed back in July!!!!!!!! Couldn’t get through to anyone for ages at the hotel. Very frustrating!!! Took an age to get a refund and even more frustrating that a cheque was sent in dollars and my bank has charged a foreign transaction fee of £12! Can’t be bothered to fight for the money back on this as it was so painful in the first place getting any money back!! I would be very cautious booking this hotel - we certainly won’t be using them again.
We only stayed here for one night and we were aware that it could only be accessed from the southbound carriageway but, even so, it was still awkward to find. Once in the hotel, we wanted to find somewhere to eat but the thought of facing the motorway again put us off so we settled for going into the service station next door. The food was OK but it was basically service station food. On a positive note, the staff in the hotel were friendly and welcoming and the room itself was clean and comfortable. If I were to consider staying here again I would make sure I had eaten beforehand so that I did not need to go out after checking in.
Very friendly and helpful welcome. Rooms are of a very good standard. We had a family room which was a double with sofa bed, we brought our own travel cot also which fit in the room very well with the sofa bed made up - we didn't feel cramped. The only reason I didn't give a 5 was because the bathroom although clean could do with a few snagging bits done to make it prettier! Nothing to complain about though, the room was very quiet considering we were ground floor and next to the motorway. Would use again!
First i have to start off by saying 'Finding the motel was a JOURNEY on its own' not at any fault of their own. They did warn us with emails that SAT NAV's didn't recognise their postcode. First impressions were great, parking was free (as long as you give your registration at reception) check in was very quick and easy which was nice to see, staff were very helpful and attentive which was splendid. So after we recieved our keys and we went into our rooms this is where the issue's began,The sofa bed was very very thin and the beds are also very high or at least the one in our room were, so not ideal if you're prone to falling out of the bed. Next the pillows and duvets were abit thin for my liking and also abit dirty, even found lipstick mark on one of them. Mistakes happen so after getting more pillows and clean duvets which the staff were prompt on changing and giving extra, which was good to see. I didn't have any further complaints until i went to the bathroom. Moving onto the bathroom now, no shower gel in the gel dispenser and the doors wouldn't lock or close properly which was abit disappointing. I gave them the benefit of the doubt that maybe the previous guests might have emptied the gel pack and broken the door and the motel staff weren't aware. That soon cleared up as i went to notify the receptionist so they can either fix the issue or just be aware of the door, they told me that 'when the door was installed it wasn't lined up properly to the lock mechanism' and that was the reason why it stopped the door from locking or closing properly!! I was disappointed since i was sharing the room with others, it did get abit awkward at times. Also the receptionist gave me a refill pack of shower gel and told me to use that, so i asked 'how do i remove the old gel pack and insert the new one' to that they replied 'just pull the old gel pack out and push the new pack in'. As you can imagine i was abit shocked and confused to the reply, i didn't want to make a scene because new guests were behind me so i just took the gel pack and walked away. I did think to myself why they couldn't just install the gel pack for me and why they haven't resolved the door issue since they already knew about it. Well next day i spoke to my brothers who were also staying in the motel and asked if they had any issues, his room had similar issues to my room the bathroom doors wouldn't lock and the beds were high. So i guess the door and bed was an issue in more than one room. Maybe the Days Inn team need to look into this matter. I must say some staff were helpful and friendly, where others were abit lazy at times. Overall we stayed 3 nights at the Days Inn Southampton and found the experience a DISAPPOINTMENT.
