Quest On Ward4.0 out of 5.0

Located right next to the shopping centre and a few minutes walk to the main street, this location was perfect for us. We had lovely apartment style room with separate bedroom, lounge and kitchen. Our teenage boys were thrilled to have the adjoining apartment laid out the same as ours but with twin beds.
Rooms are clean, spacey and the kitchen is fully equipped. It is perfect for independent travellers: within walking distance of the city centre, near a mall and with parking available. It's worth mentioning that the hotel is pretty new and it showed. Great wifi as well. It'd definitely stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay at Quest on Ward and would stay here again. After hours instructions were easy to follow. Location is great for eating out. The only negative was the couch - my goodness it was uncomfortable.
Excellent service on arrival and departure. It's not the Ritz, but its not meant to be. Well priced, functional and cosy. Parking is good also and close to a modern shopping centre. 4th time I have stayed there.
Great position within walking distance to the town centre, Starbucks right downstairs, well maintained, clean and fuss-free. Not what I would call a romantic getaway spot but certainly a great functional base.
The spacious 1 bedroom apartment was right in the city centre, and close to shops, restaurants and the bus terminal. It was clean, airy. We had a well equipped kitchenette with stovetop and microwave, as well as a washing machine/dryer. Staff were friendly and helpful.
I was booked into this accommodation by my employer. Located close to the shopping mall and just off Victoria Street (main restaurant street) it is conveniently located. A three story facility, the reception is quite small but clean and tidy. The office manager while I was there was Joe, who handled two earlier guests with ease before checking me in. He was very professional and had my file ready for me to complete and sign, saving time at checkin My room was on the third floor and was easier to access using the lift. The lift was quite comical as it slowed down as it reached the third floor and seemed stationary for at least 10 seconds before the doors opened, leaving another quest and me wondering if we were stuck. I was used to small hotel rooms with ensuite so was pleasantly surprised with the size of the room. The door opened onto a dining area, with full stocked kitchen to the right and lounge area/tv/work desk at the far end by the window. Off to the right was a utility area incorporating a washing machine/dryer and ironing facilities behind a door in a large bathroom area with toilet/corner shower/basin and towels on a towel rail. The bathroom is pleasantly large. Off the lounge end of the first room was a separate bedroom with a king size bed, and wardrobe. The views from the window were of the street below and a building opposite. However, as I was there for work I don't tend to worry about views. I picked up the ticket for free wifi (150mb I think) with an alternative of $10 for unlimited access. I found I used it on one device then wanted to log out and use on another device but the transfer didn't work as expected. However, as I use my phone for tethering my iPad and MacBook usually it wasn't a big deal to use my own internet access. Good 4G coverage via Vodafone. I would have rated this place 4.5/5 but two small things 1. There was a metal plate on the floor behind the door when I arrived. I put it on the table when I left. 2. Internet wasn't perfect - small thing but could be frustrating for those who rely on supplied internet services when staying. I did enjoy the apartment style and if I was staying 3 or more nights I would have used the kitchen to make my evening meal. I miss simple meals when I travel. The Quest on Ward in just off Victoria Street, a main thoroughfare loaded with plenty of great places to eat. I've been surprised and delighted to find so many fine places to eat, all of a good standard and some being top quality. I would be quite happy to stay here again.
This hotel offers real value; it is spacious including a separate living area and even a washer and dryer in each unit. There is a functional work area and this hotel would be especially attractive for longer stays. The hotel is centrally located in easy working distance of restaurants with a grocery store about a fifteen minute walk away. If you are driving, you should definitely consider paying for secured self parking. Parking is extremely difficult in the central city and the hotel’s parking garage is easy to use and well worth the NZ$10 daily charge. The front desk isn’t always staffed and this can cause delays in checking in and out of the hotel.
Joe at the front desk provided one of the best check-in experiences I have ever had. He was well organised, gave us clear and concise instructions and all the information we needed, made checking in a breeze. The room was good - had everything we needed for our stay and was clean & tidy. The location of the apartments was excellent, right in the CBD and walking distance from lots of shops and bars/ restaurants.
Great room, comfortable and with good amount of space. Would book again in this great location to the entertainment areas. Facilities in the room were adequate and service from front desk was hospitable.
