Based on the reviews, I didn't have great expectations when I booked the hotel. Just needed a place to sleep and it met those needs, basically. I would only recommend the hotel to someone who didn't have high expectations and only needed a place to sleep. Not an appealing area day or night. The facilities are run down, dirty, smell of stale smoke in the rooms, bedding is not very clean, tv remote didn't work, breakfast was barely adequate (but the coffee was good!). Not complaining - it was basically what I expected. Thank goodness the price was low.
This is a budget hotel and, yes, the area it is in is not an uppity one. But it is not as bad as other people have made it seem. For one, as in many hotels around the world, if you choose the absolutely cheapest rate you get the absolutely worst room a hotel has to offer. Pay a little more and you'll enjoy a nicer room for still a good price. We wanted a room on the ground floor because this hotel has NO ELEVATOR. So if you have a lot of luggage as we did make sure you stay on the first floor AND take a room with two beds. The walk-in shower in our room was excellent. Refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, breakfast, were all good, the coffee was actually very good! The bed was a bit lumpy but we still slept well. The staff during check in and check out were very friendly and helpful. I didn't like the weird thing they do with the $100.00 "security deposit". I never had that at any other hotel in the world. And you will get it back into your credit card account only after 2 - 5 business days. Why?? I could not get a good explanation. We walked to dinner after nine and home after 10 pm and there was no problem. The streets were empty on a Friday night ...
For the price, I knew I wasn’t getting the Hilton but the joke of the night was, would we get out intact. A bit tongue in cheek however the hotel needs some upgrades. The breakfast was there. The lobby was uninviting. The staff were rough around the edges but pleasant. The room were as clean as you can make them. The bathroom shower was aggressive. The carpets were stained. The douvet had marker on it making it look dirty but the double lock on the room door was comforting. The sheets were rough. They need some serious improvements.
I would not recommend this days inn location. Hallways were dirty with garbage , the walls were stained .. and in our bedroom we found illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia in the bedside drawer as well as old pizza in our microwave. Even the worker at the front when notified of the situation agreed the cleaning staff had not cleaned the room. Guaranteed the beds were not changed if they couldn’t even clean up after the last guest. Was never offered another room or an apology .. and when we asked for a refund we were told they were “ unable” because we booked on Expedia. So you can take my 100$ Safety deposit on check in but can’t refund us for a completely horrible and unacceptable experience?!? When we asked to speak to the manager the best we got was his name and the phone number for the hotel.. Won’t be staying here again !!!
We had the best stay ever. We came to canada on a hunch because my hudand wanted to see Toronto and Niagara Falls. We could not make it to Toronto but we thought Hamilton will be a good place to stay and it was the best idea
What an absolute joke, dirty carpets, unfriendly staff, an absolute hole. Wyndham resorts should be ashamed of themselves for offering this as an option! Room with virtually no window, no daylight, broken desk chair. Do not stay here at any cost! Front desk could also care less, but that attitude seems to filter down from Wyndham resorts right from the top down. The whole company is a joke!!
They charcing deposit. CAD150 then pay back in a week. Large customer population. Staff smiley. Breakfast peesonel was rude. Not acceptable. Breakfat pretty enough to feeling full. Maple syrop was fake. Designed glycose syrup they serving (details on May photo) location is good. Room and bed was clean but there is no light coming from small window. Window facing to another room's facade.
I cannot say if the property was understaffed at the time of my visit, however, I've stayed at better kept Days Inn before. Rooms were poorly serviced and it showed. Breakfast was ok, and was the only area beside the reception where I saw a staff working.
I was in Hamilton to assist my brother with moving his family. I checked in quite late only to find no parking. I was told to park in the church parking lot next door. When I inquired about possible fine, ticket or towing charges I was told to move it by 8am. I said this is an inconveince to me having to wake early.especially after arriving so late. The room was dingy, air conditioner was so noisy and the light coming in the doorway to our room was significant enough to render sleep impossible. The breakfast the next morning was a nightmare as well. No juice or fruit, no name cereals, slae bread and bagels, and the tea water was luke warm. The manager that was called (waited 20 mins to talk to her) was rude no apologies were offerred and no resolution.
Mold in bathroom!! Shower curtain was dirty!! Smelt awful in the room. Rugs looked and felt dirty. Front desk people weren’t that welcoming. Place looks run down. Also only stairs for upper floors, if you have lots of baggage vest to ask fo a main floor. Not worth the price at all. Would never recommend this place to others. It’s to bad as we never had these issues with other days inn that we have stayed at.
