This hotel was very nice and in a good location hotel was clean, had tea n coffee in rooms could do with supplying More milk with it though. My only problem with this hotel was the breakfast room just wasn't big enough for the amount of guests there, u had to get up early or fight for a seat, but I would still stay there again
I stayed here for business for one night in April. I arrived by car and made use of the garage, which is very tiny so be careful to not scratch your car :) The reception staff was very attentive and friendly. I received a room on a high floor towards the backyard, which was very quiet. The room itself was fresh and clean, though on the small style. A typical HI express room. Upon my arrival it was very hot, above 30 centigrades, and it took a while for the air condition to get started. But after a while the room was cooled down and I had a good night sleep. I could not make use of the breakfast as I left early. The only point which makes me take off one star is the price: maybe it was a fair week or something but I ended up paying 200+ Euros for my stay, which is definitely too much for a property in this class. For anything around 100 euros I'd gladly return.
Here is place for your car in the garage (15 € per day) - security is very good in the whole hotel - room s are fine - WI FI excellent - well, noise when windows is open, but that's normal when you stay in the middle of a grat town - brakfast okay, but a little sparely.
Fantastic hotel, no issues with any of the people or facilities. Staff very eager to accommodate and assist us as our requirements often needed a swift response. Very good and clean throughout, highly recommended for value and hygiene.
Perfect Holiday Inn Express, it all went right from the early check in with no fuss to well appointed clean rooms and a good basic breakfast . The staff were polite and very helpful , from issues with adding an additional device to the free wifi to calling a cab it all went seamlessly.
Great hotel in a good location. Not far from the tube, 5min walk and 15mins from the harbour. The staff were friendly and helpful and at times and willing to have a good chat with you while drinking at the bar. My room was 206, with a good shower. All rooms seemed to be the same size and was clean and a good size twin room. Breakfast is continental, it was ok. You can get ice from the ice machine next to the elevator on the ground floor. The staff were the stars here at Holiday Inn Express.
If you plan on staying here for glitz and glamour, I'd reconsider. The rooms are comfy and if you shut the curtains you'll sleep for days! The hotel offers no concierge service but the staff are still friendly enough. The use of the words "city centre" in the name are as much misleading as if they called themselves a "fairytale castle". They are 10 minute walk to the local station, and 3 stops on the train from central station, which is fine, but in my opinion a bit rich to claim central location in your name. The surrounding area is certainly not glamorous and the cautious traveler will certainly be keeping a brisk pace to make their way to the station. Once you look past the location, the facilities in the room are good. A good sized bed, and a good size shower. All you need if you plan on heading out and exploring Hamburg. Breakfast was a good spread of international and local favourites so no complaints there. All in all a 3 for the fact it is clean and neat enough to be comfortable while you are here. Just don't think you'll step out the front door into the "City Centre" based on the name.
The hotel is very clean and comfortable, the room we were in was also very quiet. The breakfast was good and plenty of it. The hotel is not far from the U-bahn which makes it easy to get round the town, the hotel is also walking distance from the river front.
On finding that my usual hotel was fully booked, along with most hotels in Hamburg due to a conference, I was a little stuck for somewhere affordable to stay on a recent business trip. I don't mind a Holiday Inn Express, you know pretty much what you are going to get - and this one was no exception. The best thing was probably the location, in St Pauli you are close by the Reeperbahn and most of the nightlife in Hamburg, but also not too far away from anywhere else either. The room was clean, although I did have twin beds in the room, but this was not such a big deal as at the end of the day all I was doing was sleeping there. The staff in the hotel were really friendly and helped us to find somewhere for dinner that evening, as well as giving advice on where would be a good place to watch the football. Breakfast is the usual HIExpress buffet - more than adequate for being on a business trip. Would certainly consider adding this hotel to my usual hotel list in the city for the ext time that I have to be in town.
