The hotel is good, it is in a good location and has a good view to Badford Basin. They have a nice staff. The price could be more cheap, the room smell humidity. It was nice for one night but it could be better.

We stayed in room 18, the carpet was dirty, tap in bathtub dripped about a 2 littre bottle per hour. In the morning not hot water to be found. was told boiler was broken. No restaurant on site.Staff was helpful.

Easily reached from the Halifax airport with an attached restaurant that features regional Acadian specialties. Beds are comfortable and rooms are quiet. Staff is friendly and helpful. No frills but it's a convenient place to spend the night before setting off on your adventures.

I am just about to take off on another trip and realize I have not sent in a review for my stay last August at the Bluenose Inn & Suites. I stayed there for 2 days and had a wonderful experience, we would like to stay there again. If you are looking for extreme fancy this is not your stop....but if you are more interested in value for your money and get great service from staff who care about giving you the best ...then this is certainly your stop. I stayed at another hotel prior to that one and I will not give a review because the treatment was awful. The Bluenose has updated rooms also. It was the bad service that sent me finding another location for the remainder of that trip that was outstanding at the the Bluenose. At the Bluenose you also get a nice view of the water as you drive along the main road on that strip. It was our first time in Nova Scotia and we truly enoyed. .

Just no across the board. Don't do it. The toilet and sink are in a separate room. The shower didn't work. The smell was stale. The room had peeling paint and a view of the oil tank. The walkway to the room was decrepit and littered with disrepair and cigarettes. We left immediately. Just no.

Me and my family (5 in total) stayed at the Bluenose and even though it was somewhat runned down (old carpets, older furniture) I have to say that for the price and the location, it could not be beat. The staff were always helpful and willing to assist when necessary. Booking.com frigged up my reservation and the staff at Bluenose was able to accommodate my family with similar pricing for 6 nights in an efficiency unit. We were close to bus routes, to amenities, to everything. I really connected with Deborah - one of the hotel Managers who was a true sweetheart xo Their restaurant was one of the best places to dine - the food was excellent and the staff was friendly. Thank you Bluenose for your wonderful hospitality :)

I was booking from afar and went off pictures of this Inn online. It's all not current. It's no longer part of the Howard Johnson chain, in fact the current sign has those words scraped off and the building is now painted solid black. The suite is nothing close to the pictures, it's a broken down building with a broken bed, a broken lamp and broken tiles just laying on the bathroom floor without grout. The register couldn't be reset so our room was 27 all day and night. I was embarrassed to tell my family I had booked this hotel. A horrible start to our vacation. Don't believe anything you see online.

For the price the room was great. Friendly staff. Free breakfast was toast and cold cereals coffee and juice. However they sis have a mwni which is We ordered from was amazing. I do have 2 complaints. We stayed 5 nights and the only servicry was changing the towels. It would have been nice to have the beds made and floor swept. And the showers had no water pressure was it took forever to shower. However we will go back .

We travel to Halifax a couple of times a year. As our favorite motel was full due to it being graduation weekend, we found a room at the Bluenose. After I booked it I checked out the ratings and I must confess I got pretty worried, but tried to remain positive. Imagine my pleasant surprise to find the room, although quite small, clean, the bed clean, and the door of our room going right outside where there was a green space for our dog. Yes, this motel is old, the plumbing is old and rusty, but we thought it was perfectly adequate for our needs and our room, Number 5, was very clean. It contained a queen size bed, a bar fridge and microwave, tv, air conditioning and phone. It was very quiet and the bed was very comfortable. Our room for one night including the dog, taxes and two breakfasts was $111.32. The staff was very friendly. Good value for the price. If you are looking for deluxe accommodations, this is not the place for you.

This place was so old and dingy looking I couldn't even believe they were still allowed to operate. Everything was in awful condition. Neither our toilet nor our shower was working properly. Everything seemed outdated and ill-maintained, it was atrocious! When we asked about some of the issues the person we talked to wasn't helpful at all. They didn't apologize and they refused to admit that our room wasn't up to the standards that an accommodation of this price should be. Avoid this place at all costs!!
