We stayed at the pennyslavian villa for a week, it was okey. The place was clean and nice, everything worked. The pictures has been taken a few years ago it doesent look the same no more. I wouldnt say its a rundown but it deffintly needs some renuaition. A big minus is the hotels breakfeast so boring and the same stuff every morning. And we had two small scorpions in your big toilet one night, we called the reception and they took care of them. I think its kind a normal to have bugs in your room in thailand, but the scorpions really sceard me. Overall the stay was good its not a luxury hotell but we didnt pay for a luxury hotel either. So worth the money ror sure.
We booked a one bedroomed villa with private pool. Rooms are outdated and a little shabby. It rained solidly for 5 days so we were unable to use the pool. Obviously not their fault! No free wi-fi in the rooms. Had no hot water, but they did come to fix that. There was an outside shower, but it didn't work. Long walk to rooms, as they don't let you take your scooter to your room. Breakfast was dismal. We had to eat at the restaurant because of the weather, and were both ill.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We had a one bedroom villa with private pool and it was perfect. The bedroom had direct access to the pool and either side was a stunning pond with waterlillies and frogs. Each night we opened up the bedroom windows and it felt like sleeping on a private island. Staff - were friendly and always helpful, they even surprised me with a birthday cake for my birthday. Breakfast was varied and delicious, room service was great. The hotel is a little rundown in parts but for the price it wasn't an issue. This is a great hotel if you want a quiet holiday - a short walk (or golf cart ride) to the local beach, bars and restaurants. Most of the holidaymakers were older (or as I like to say mature) or families. If you want nightclubs then go closer to the main town. A special big thankyou to Pat who looked after our every need - who even managed to sneak the surprise cake into our room. This hotel was great value and in the most stunning location.
Years ago when the pictures where taken it would have been a great place now unfortunately it is tired and literally broken in many places. Some of the platforms and walkways have given way and are literally dangerous this is wholly down to a lack of maintenance. Some of the staff were great and really helpful but unfortunately some were awful and could not be made to understand the simplest of requests even though i speak some Thai...others were just ignorant Breakfast was reasonable but there constant insistence that you must have the correct dated ticket was just ridiculous as a breakfast was paid for no matter what day!! A lift down to the town was available but the female managers insistence that it could go no further than the road in case it was needed was ridiculous as where we wanted to go was another 200m but it was torrential rain! In fact that totally sums up her attitude! My wife being Thai let her know in no uncertain terms ;) Room was ok but cleaners didn't...shower went 3 days without cleaning, had to be asked to sweep floors, dirty glasses and cups left for days, towel replacement hit and miss.... For the money charged you should not have to deal with these problems and only Paul and Tu showed some real interest and helpfulness. Overall a real disappointment..this is a true and honest review. Also be aware that it seems every time they get a bad review mysteriously a wonderful one seems to come from nowhere!
We travelled around Thailand for 2 weeks staying in 3 different hotels and resorts before checking into this place. The rooms were filled with mosquitoes (this is because the bathrooms are open and there are no windows to keep the mosquitoes and other bugs out!) The aircon when switched on sounded like we were on a flight back to Australia. The bath tub was so old and stained that we refused to touch it. There is a kitchen however they are no longer in use..so dont even try and ask for cooking utensils. The kitchen tap when we turned it on fell in my hand! The pool is old and dated with missing tiles. The footpaths are also the same. And dont even get me started with the breakfast, lunch and dinner service! Heads up there is a 17% charge on all food. They have cocktail and drinks specials signs all over the place but NO ONE knows how to make a cocktail so all they offer is beer. Take it from me go elsewhere.
i spent 2 nights 8-10 of December around this time there was rain that left the streets a bit flooded and added difficulty to reach the place i had to pay 300b for a 10-15min ride. the taxi driver covered the meter and the person was not even the same on the taxi identification card. after complaining about this situation they upgraded my reservation. i had an entire suite with a "view" for myself. which was quite nice and pleasant. the breakfast was a buffet and it was great. the beach front is unusable , rocks and a low tide make it useless. you have to leave and go to the next beach which is nice. the horizon pool is nice the fact that it has a "gym" area is nice i did not use the billiards/snooker/pool table the place was a bit empty, and so i could have had a better upgrade- a better view (it was good already but there were a few plants and trees blocking) plus the price could be lower i believe - i was traveling solo the suite was enough for a small family the furniture and decoration was a bit old fashion but nice i would still recommend this place
The rooms are very sweet and cozy, the staff always helpful and friendly, it's a wonderful area, close to the beach and the breakfast is satisfying! Futhermore they offer a free daily shuttle to the Shopping center and to chaweng Beach!
Rooms were beautiful, with superb views over the sea from the upstairs rooms. Staff very friendly and accommodating, not strict on pool opening/closing times (we stayed up in the pool till the early hours of the morning at times), very close to a long stretch of beach which is nice, with massages and bars on the seafront. Hotel not the closest to the main area of the island, but this isn't a problem for a relatively cheap taxi or a moped hire (which can be done through the resort itself!) Breakfast included, which is very nice all you can eat American style (although a bit repetitive after a couple of days!) Would recommend.
Two years ago I stayed 3 nights in the Baiyoke Sea Coast hotel and I was very satisfied. That was the reason for me to come back again for another 4 nights on last November. Due to my return, the manager was kind enough to upgraded me to the nice villa suites with a private pool. It is one of the best accommodation in Thailand for me so far. The staff was very nice, polite and very motivated and eager to fulfill all of my requests. The villa is very elegant furnished, observed to an unforgettable sea view. Inside there is a nice equipped kitchen, comfortable bathroom and a large bedroom with a huge kings-size bed. There is another very nice swimming pool nearby the dining room, both overlooking the sea and highly cleaned. The location is good for relaxing. However, you are not far from the airport and only 300 meter walk to the village where you will find lot's of restaurants and shops etc. One evening I had dinner at hotel restaurant, it was seafood bbq, variety of food were more than sufficient and the quality was good too. Overall - would definitely recommend to anyone who is tired of constant noises and rushing, and wants some calm, good quality relax.
So the hotel quite far from the ferry but it's peaceful place if that you looking for. The toilet dont hv heater probably most customer visit during hot season unfortunately i was there ard november. Overall I like the hotel.
