Only one night here and we had a good night sleep. room is clean, including a Safe in room, Renovated room with nice small bathroom. hotel has a very good rate for Parking your car. and Taxis are available at the hotel. the only bad side was all the Construction outside the hotel, City is doing Major Work on all Streets around this Hotel as they are building a new street car routes, public transportation. so when you go out of hotel, all streets are opened and dusty. you can walk all down town, all is walking distance from hotel, Shopping, Cathedral, Parlement, San Juan de Dios Market, Instituto Cabanas. we did not eat at the hotel but they do have a nice restaurant.
OK for the price, has airport shuttle from airport to hotel or both ways** "and is the cheapest", with tours to buy at the hotel front desk, it's in downtown, ride with the locals on the little buses** it's the cheapest** but watch out you might get lost.
This hotel is in the heart of Historic downtown Guadalajara, It is very family friendly and often books youth sports teams that are in town for playoffs. They offer a buffet three times a day, and I was impressed at the food choices offered and the table service when you did not want the buffet. The rooms are modern and up to date. There is construction going on around the hotel but they provide indoor parking. The front desk speaks both Spanish and English. They have a pool, although somewhat small, we have never found it crowded.
Staff went out of their way to help with hotel Wifi (very slow) and supply walking map of Guadalajara Historic Center. Public spaces very nice, room quality and amenities vary depending on where they are in the ongoing renovation process. Several school groups were staying at this hotel, so elevator and dining room access was a bit constrained at times. Property is as expected for low-mid range business hotel in slightly dated building. Again, staff went out of their way to be helpful whenever asked. Major street construction throughout central Guadalajara (for new Metro line) including those on 2 sides of this hotel made pedestrian and vehicle access trick: either the cab driver knew which one way streets to traverse the wrong way, or you just got out and walked a block or two. There were good views of an adjacent church and other sites depending on your room location and floor. Overall a slightly dated property with accommodating staff which was a reasonable value for the room tariff. Room quality and amenities varied depending on if and when they were recently renovated. Public spaces very pleasant. I would stay here again.
I do not recommend this hotel. When we check in and got to our room we checked the beds and the sheets were dirty. You could tell they had not been changed from the last guest that had stayed in the room. Service for breakfast and dinner were bad and to expensive. Need a lot of repairs. Will not be staying at this hotel again.
This hotel was great and the price in november was excellent. The room was clean and quiet. The small pool was cold but clean. The staff wall frendly and helpfull. The restaurant offer good choice and good food for a reasonable price. Good for a 4 nights visit at the historic center.
The Hotel Aranazu Centro is really next to the old Center and in that sense excellent for truistic purposes and for work at the science campus of the University of Guadalajara, which is why I was there. Rooms are very adequate, service is pleasant ad helpful and pieces are excellent, particularly with the University discount. The breakfast buffet is good! One piece of warning! While you are on the very edge of the old city where all is in walking distance, the modern shopping and nightlife district is quite far away and Taxis are expensive by mexican standards. You should NOT stay at the Aranzazú if that area is of central importance to you.
This hotel is horrible. I read the bad reviews and wanted to give it a try, well I did. I was asked to be moved three times. The first (hairs on the sheets). Second, (urine all over the toilet). Third, the bathroom sink collapsed, (I will post pictures of this). This was dangerous. The sink broke and shattered, even reaching the sleeping area. My two year old was awoken and cried and cried. They finally gave me a new room two hours later, in the meantime, we had a horrible sewer smell coming out of the restroom. I emailed orbitz asking for a refund and they contacted management, this is a quote of their broken English response, " Under review, we requested a meeting with managers and department heads in order to eradicate this incomvenient. I extend to you a cordial invitation to visit us again and show that our hotel is working to improve its processes and I get their orders in this e-mail address to receive the response to our invitation. Rest assured that both the rate and our service will be preferred. No more for now I leave you thanking in advance the opportunity it provides to improve with your comments, they are of infinite use to us." Horrible dont stay here, I recommend morales, two blocks away and you pay $15 more a night, but you dont have to be exposed to this crappy service from arazazu.
The hotel lobby makes it look decent but once the elevator doors opens the smell of a 40 year old carpet comes to you. Even more so in the room. Very old furniture horrible lighting and ugly bathrooms. Everything is clean though but won't come back here.
This hotel caters to Mexicans. They are very unfriendly towards Americans. The rooms and maids are nice. Everyone in reception was very unfriendly. I was the only foreigner staying in this huge hotel.
