This hotel is nice. They are building a passenger train station on the side, so that's a little pain to get around. But well worth the money to stay If you can, get the breakfast included in the nightly stay if you can, worth that too!!
The stay was horrible. Standard rooms on 3rd floor are 20 years old, not renovated. The lights did not work, the shower was leaking making the restroom and the whole room forming mildew. Roaches were present, and requested to be moved, several times. Finally they moved us 2 doors down. Same old furniture and roaches. hallways has very old an dirty carpet. It seems that nobody was in charge of cleaning hallways because it was always dirty. My daughter stayed at a suite on 9th floor and her room was renovated and brand new. So why are the rooms on 3rd floor not renovated? You should not have them available if they have mildew and roaches. It was just gross to stay on the 3rd floor. The restaurant had a buffet breakfast and the lady that would cook certain thing to order did not look very happy working there. I will not stay at this hotel again.
This hotel should be rated excellent! Great value! The rooms are clean and well kept and the breakfast buffet is delicious and very reasonably priced. The hotel staff from every department were very gracious and caring. Centrally located and safe to walk to the downtown shopping areas and the Cathedral. The only fault is not the Hotel's fault....they are constructing a train station next to the hotel so the side streets are dirty and with a lot of trash. I will definitely stay there again when I come back in December!
I don't usually write reviews but this time I'm so pissed I have to. My wife and I stayed at this hotel for a few days and during one of the days the cleaners hadn't clean the room properly (didn't leave any towels, soap etc) and one of the papers we had in one place was in another. Also the safe stopped working this day after we opened it in the evening. My wife and I didn't think much about it, and locked what we had in the safe in one of our bags. After we left the hotel and came home my wife noticed that she was missing a couple of earrings she had in a bag in one of the drawers. So one of the cleaners stole her earrings instead of cleaning our room, so if you value your belongings choose a different hotel, but if you choose to stay here, make sure your safe works and that you lock everything you want to keep.
Only one night here and we had a good night sleep. room is clean, including a Safe in room, Renovated room with nice small bathroom. hotel has a very good rate for Parking your car. and Taxis are available at the hotel. the only bad side was all the Construction outside the hotel, City is doing Major Work on all Streets around this Hotel as they are building a new street car routes, public transportation. so when you go out of hotel, all streets are opened and dusty. you can walk all down town, all is walking distance from hotel, Shopping, Cathedral, Parlement, San Juan de Dios Market, Instituto Cabanas. we did not eat at the hotel but they do have a nice restaurant.
OK for the price, has airport shuttle from airport to hotel or both ways** "and is the cheapest", with tours to buy at the hotel front desk, it's in downtown, ride with the locals on the little buses** it's the cheapest** but watch out you might get lost.
This hotel is in the heart of Historic downtown Guadalajara, It is very family friendly and often books youth sports teams that are in town for playoffs. They offer a buffet three times a day, and I was impressed at the food choices offered and the table service when you did not want the buffet. The rooms are modern and up to date. There is construction going on around the hotel but they provide indoor parking. The front desk speaks both Spanish and English. They have a pool, although somewhat small, we have never found it crowded.
Staff went out of their way to help with hotel Wifi (very slow) and supply walking map of Guadalajara Historic Center. Public spaces very nice, room quality and amenities vary depending on where they are in the ongoing renovation process. Several school groups were staying at this hotel, so elevator and dining room access was a bit constrained at times. Property is as expected for low-mid range business hotel in slightly dated building. Again, staff went out of their way to be helpful whenever asked. Major street construction throughout central Guadalajara (for new Metro line) including those on 2 sides of this hotel made pedestrian and vehicle access trick: either the cab driver knew which one way streets to traverse the wrong way, or you just got out and walked a block or two. There were good views of an adjacent church and other sites depending on your room location and floor. Overall a slightly dated property with accommodating staff which was a reasonable value for the room tariff. Room quality and amenities varied depending on if and when they were recently renovated. Public spaces very pleasant. I would stay here again.
I do not recommend this hotel. When we check in and got to our room we checked the beds and the sheets were dirty. You could tell they had not been changed from the last guest that had stayed in the room. Service for breakfast and dinner were bad and to expensive. Need a lot of repairs. Will not be staying at this hotel again.
This hotel was great and the price in november was excellent. The room was clean and quiet. The small pool was cold but clean. The staff wall frendly and helpfull. The restaurant offer good choice and good food for a reasonable price. Good for a 4 nights visit at the historic center.
