Good hotel plenty of parking staff good breakfast nice selection room ok only complaint is if your room is at front of the hotel traffic noise can be heard also you can hear conversations of people on their mobile phones outside your room the insulation is so bad.
The staff here (both of them) were very accomodating. The beds are very comfortable and rooms a generous size. Bathrooms need an update and the abundant reliance on silicone is obvious. It is a noisy place though ... people in the floors above can be heard easily and those in adjacent rooms are obvious. I consider a restaurant to have waiting staff and on shift kitchen staff and fresh vegetables listed on the menu to indeed be that. Our dining was reheated food in a microwave heated by one of the 2 desk staff. Those fresh veggies were frozen mixed veg. It was edible but not what i expected.
Stayed at the Holiday Inn with my 94 y/o parents whilst they were having their bathroom modified, we were there for 5 night. The staff were exceptional providing care and assistance and happy to go beyond the norm to make my parents feel "at home" during this challenging time. The rooms are clean and tidy, furnishings and interior is looking old but I am told a major refurbishment is scheduled at the end of the season. Breakfast was usual hotel fare and reasonable. Convenient location and good parking.
Not the Hyatt but nicer than some that we had been in on this trip. Clean and comfy beds. Not impressed with dinner here. I ordered Tomato Basil soup and was served Campbell's tomato soup. Would have appreciated a laundry facility.
Wrote earlier review of recent stay (excellent room, brkfst, service, rate) BUT upset several requests to be billed in stirling rather than home currency ($) was not accomodated. The hotel conv rate is 3% higher than VISA. Most infuriating that the receipt says" I accept that I have been offered a choice of currency. I acknowledge that I had a choice of stirling but choose $". The hotel says "Being an IHG Rewards member, pre-authorization was done prior to your arrival for a fast and efficient check in. As it was done in dollars then the check out completion would only clear in dollars." So foreign IHG Rewards folks beware. Despite booking in L and asking for billing in L, you apparently will be billed in your home currency despite your wishes.
Positives: nice hotel, very clean, good location, great sized room, comfortable bed. Staff very friendly. Negatives: £20 deposit on card, this was not advertised. It was held till departure. The restaurant was very disappointing, we ordered our meal, 30 minutes later we had to ask for our drinks ( which had been paid for) they had forgotten about them, a further ten minutes later we were still waiting on our starters, when someone finally came to the table they had the mains but quickly turned and left when we mentioned starters. A further ten minutes later they finally brought the starters. The lasagne was not what was expected for the price paid, it was a ready meal however it was tasty enough. The lady apologised for the mix up and offered a sweet free of charge. Whilst we appreciate mistakes can happen it did put a bit of a dampener on an otherwise lovely stay.
We stayed at this hotel for two nights as it was handy for a ferry to Dunoon where we were to collect a puppy from the breeder. The staff were amazing, without exception throughout our stay. Nothing was a bother. From dawn til dusk they worked very hard making sure the guests every need was met. Bedroom was spotless. We enjoyed a short car journey to Largs and the west coast towns, with breath taking views over the Trossachs. Definitely one to return to for a more leisurely visit.
Friday night I stayed at this Holiday Inn in order to attend the Greenock Telegraph Awards at the Town Hall. My first impressions of this hotel was good, friendly staff, prompt service and a clean room. Breakfast was good in the morning as well, plenty on offer, well stocked and fresh! I would thoroughly recommend this hotel whether for business or pleasure as it is centrally located and has ample parking etc.
We stayed here, and as an IHG member I booked through their website. I was disappointed that I did not receive any of the "perks" of being an IHG member, and the hotel was INCREDIBLY busy as there were 4 bus loads of tourists staying in the hotel. The rooms were clean, although noisy, and the pillows were not the usual soft or hard version. Overall not a good look for this Holiday Inn express branded hotel.
We stated here overnight Sunday attending a family function in the area. It has not lost its cleanliness, efficiency and truly comfortable beds. I have written on this before and the staff and standard remains high. The breakfast now includes Bacon which as the rest of the food, well cooked and resupplied regularly. Easy Check in/out; plenty parking, very comfortable beds and great staff from Reception to Housekeeping.
