As hunters it suits us to a T. I would give all fives if a bird cleaning station was available as it is next door at the Country Inn. We will be back in January. Cleaning birds in frigid conditions is challenging.

Close to everything like food and gas stations. Thats about all there was in small town

I will never stay there again. i booked for 3 nights but ran out of there as fast as i could after the first night. room smelled bad, bathroom was dirty and stool looked like it had not been cleaned. i felt unsafe. booked another room for the remainder of my stay in Larned. When i checked out with the clerk, he had obviously been sleeping and my ringing the bell woke him up. when i checked in there was a sign on the door that said they were out, but they saw me and unlocked the door so i could check in. I dont know what i would have done if they were truly out. the $50 a night is a joke...horribly kept. stains on the bedspreads....dont want to even think about it ! Yuck

They must have done some upgrading to furnishings and remodeled the room and bathroom as they were much nicer than my stay one year ago However, I remembered a better breakfast before. Maybe they just had not gotten the hot food out yet as I was there promptly at 6:30 AM and their was only cold cereals available with hot and cold liquids.

No ice machine anywhere. Room 35 had a tub but no shower. Old TV.

Would not stay here again. If needing a hotel in Larned, KS, stay at the Roadway Inn!

The first thing noticed was a dirty bathroom! Also the outside of the room door looked as if someone puked by it wasn't cleaned up.

I traveled here for a job interview at the forensic hospital. It was 9 degrees outside that evening and I was pleased the heater kept the room warm enough. Several other hotels I stayed at had a reoccurring problem with being very cold. I was pleased with the size of the refrigerator and the microwave in the room. The included breakfast the next morning was very good. Nice to have a hot breakfast on a cold morning. The T.V. left something to be desired. It was a very old T.V. (something out of the 90's, possibly the 80's), but at least there was cable with HBO provided. The staff was friendly and helpful. My only complaint really would be the tub drain. It filled up with water as I was taking a shower and I was standing in a pool of water as I showered. That made me feel a bit disgusted to think of what could be plugging up the drain to the point I could've taken a bath. was spacious. Despite being on the side of the hotel that overlooked the parking garage, the view from both the bedroom and the living room was gorgeous! The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and there are TVs in every room, including the bathroom. Not that they would get turned on much. I stayed 4 nights while working a convention and I couldnt have asked for a better place to stay. After a long day on my feet and entertaining clients for a dinner it was nice coming back to a place that wasnt loud and crazy! We stayed at the Townsman Motel in Larned, Kansas as a base while exploring a section of the Santa Fe Trail. The Hotel is all on ground level and we parked right at our room door. We only had to carry our luggage about 12 feet from car to luggage rack in room. The Water pressure in the shower seemed to be a disappointment but after 30 or 40 seconds it came up to full flow. The room was clean and the A/C worked very well - we had to set it to a warmer temp in the middle of the night ! And this was during 100 degree plus temperatures in Larned. The motel is close to Fort Larned and the Santa Fe Trail Museum and the desk clerks were friendly, helpful, and knew all the events and attractions going on during the 4th of July weekend. It is close enough to Dodge City, ( about an hour away ) to enjoy breakfast in Larned and then drive the Santa Fe Trail to Dodge. Some of the old wagon ruts are still visible on the prairie! The continental breakfast was typical, but did have a bonus of microwave burritos. Not the best, but adequate. About half the guests were in our age group ( 55 - 65 ) in the breakfast room next to the office and that made for easy socializing. This is a variable but we will try to stay at this motel again on our next trip through Kansas. Room Tip: The rooms on the East end are quiet but the water pressure takes a while to get there. Arriving at the Hotel I was pleasantly surprised at how many food options I had within a walking distance. The staff upon check in was nice and quick, and my room was clean and well stocked. They even had good quality internet service. The only complaint I have is I ordered a king room. Most places this means you get a king sized bed, a desk, chair and/or couch. Here the room was bit sized with a room barely bigger than a twin, a small sofa chair, and a super small an adequate desk area. I would go back but I would not call the room a king...
