The desk clerk with whom we had most of our communications was one of those amazing individuals who spoke with us in fluent English, spoke with the couple ahead of us in fluent French, and was himself Spanish. We really appreciated the extra time he took to give us advice of all sorts, including a range of dining choices. The hotel is very centrally located. The breakfast room (breakfast is optional) has a great view of the Alhambra. We were lucky enough to have a room on the top floor with a patio and a view. When a misfortune made it necessary for us to change our plans and stay an extra day, the staff made it very easy to do. One thing to note: you need to use your room card in the elevator to access every floor except for the second floor (reception), including the ground floor from which you exit.
Our one night stay there was lovely. The hotel is well located, close to the big Main Street Gran via, yet to get there was a bit annoying, cz cars are not allowed to go there, piétonne area. The entrance of the hotel is charming beautiful mix of colors, u need elevator to go to reception. Room is clean beautiful, with a view over roofs of old Granada’s buildings. Price was reasonable. And staff professional warn and helpful. Brunch there was not at my taste I don’t recommend it Costs 8€.
Room Mate Leo is in the best location/central downtown Granada. Has a well groomed & excellent room service, delicious breakfast and exceptional/precious front desk assistance at all times. Cool place!
Stayed here for 2 nights last week, great hospitality as you would have expected from the RM group. Room is very spacious and well decorated and I didn't have the problem with bad smell. Having tea and coffee making facilities and free bottle of water were fantastic but would be better if they can refill it daily. They do for the jelly beans but not the more basic tea and coffee. I took a look at the breakfast option but it wasn't that appealing so I had it outside instead. If the guest can adjust the room temperature, it would be nice, on the first night it was too warm and second night, I had to open the balcony door to air the room before sleeping. Luggage rack is provided but they expect you to place at the most awkward space in the room, which was in the hallway between the bathroom and on the way out while there was a perfect corner readily available.
Enjoyed our three night stay here - really good location, rooms was well equipped, nice bathroom products and personal touches as others have mentioned. The terrace has fantastic views. Good to have breakfast staying open so late, but we did notice that selection of food was much reduced on the morning we went up late for breakfast. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Only downside, that one or two others have mentioned, was the strange smell at times, which did seem to be a drain/sewage smell, but this was intermittent, and I wouldn't let it put me off staying again!
Very happy with this hotel. Very well situated in the historic centre. They upgraded us to a lovely room with balcony from an executive room for very reasonable supplement. Staff very obliging and amiable.
Just returned from a short stay at Leo, in the heart of fabulous Granada. Small hotel within the city, just a short stroll from many bars/ restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Lovely outside terrace overlooking the Alhambra and Sierra Nevada. Leo's definitely my Mate...cannot fault it.
Let me start with the positive. The service is very good. They are very helpful and friendly. The negative the smell of this place is awful. It smells like sewage hall way and rooms. Not sure if the city was working in repairs but we did not see any construction around. Rooms are tiny and ugly rugs. Location was ok.
At last really gracious hospitality in Spain. This is a tiny hotel in the heart of the city seconds away from fantastic restaurants shopping and the cathedral. We had a street view room and it was roomy with great modern decor. Front desk helpful and friendly - always a smile and great advice. Breakfast was good with gluten free options and the terrace has a lovely view to the Alhambra. Taxi will drop you at the end of the narrow street but it's an easy walk 100m to the hotel. Highly recommended.
Hotel Mate Leo offers a good location. It is a very small hotel but I definitely would not call it a "boutique". The rooms are very small and a bit outdated. Our room had a horrible green rug and a bulky chair that occupied space and served no purpose because it faced a wall not a TV. I had to move the chair in order to get my luggages in the room. The bed is very comfortable but there was no room in the bathroom to put our toiletries. I couldn't find any English Chanel's on the TV. When I called the front desk to ask they told me to search the channel by going up & down with the remote control. What I hated about this hotel is that you must walk with your luggages to the hotel from the Main Street since the hotel is on a pedestrian only street. The distance is not far but extremely inconvenient since the street are cobblestone. What I did like are the staff they are very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. Not too sure if I'd return again only because I personally do not like walking the streets with my luggage. There is no bellman nor any assistance with luggages.
