We are staying in apartment 7 in this group of 12 self catering apartments and we have a lovely lounge dinner with full views of the Alhambra Aircon and all you would expect from a self catering apartment and a good size. The bedroom also has a great view of the Alhambra where can lie in bed and still look up at it. A round deep bath which is amazing to spend some time in with a glass of Cava. Talking to the owners no 7 and 12 are the best. It is 2 mins walk to the old town and the tapas bars. And about the same to the modern parts taxis and local buses. With apartment seven you also get us of a roof terrace where you can spend the evening just looking at the alhambra with a good bottle of wine and or have your breakfast up there. Can not recommend these apartments enough.
The apartments were located at the lower Albaicin, so the taxis would drive there without problems. The architect who has reconstructed the Ziri wall had also designed the apartments and buildings with beautiful details. The rooms had airconditioning which is very important in Granada during July! Besides the good location we enjoyed the shared roof terrace that gave a romantic view to the Alhambra. Our receptionist Eva was wonderful, getting us tickets to the Alhambra, taking care of us and giving us new info on the city.
Apartomentos Muralla Ziri is quite centrally located in the town of Granada. Everything is close by. Rooms are very clean but extremely tiny. The bedroom door has to be closed in order to be able to get into the bathroom. One thing we are not happy about is the air conditioning, as it has very low power. We didn't sleep well because it's quite hot, plus the bed is too small for two. The best thing about this apartment we can't afford not to mention is they DO have the precious lift. Otherwise image after we drag all our luggages on the pebble stone street (as the street are too narrow for Taxi to drive in ) then to find out that we have to climb the twist ,very narrow stairs we would be totally destroyed, physically as well as mentally. Also, this apartment have bidet, too. We very much appreciate it.
A little hard to find, since taxi driver could not (or did not) drop us at the door. Up a very narrow street, near the maze of streets filled with Moroccan artisans and tea shops. The apartment was a good size, nicely furnished, very modern bathroom, and a direct view of the Alhambra! Could walk to most sites, though we took the free shuttle from the center of town up to the Alhambra. Our hostess recommended that as it's a very long walk up the Alhambra hill. She also recommended the Flamenco tour to the Albayzin "caves." Thought it might be very touristy but the show was fantastic - such passionate dancing! Most tour books warn about pickpockets in Granada (and all over Spain) and we did have someone unzip my husband's backpack as we walked to the hotel. Just be careful.
I have lost count of the times I have stayed in these apartments - they are centrally located, perfect customer service & the apartments have everything you could possibly need! I have stayed in pretty much every apartment in the buildings, and they are all great. I love the location and that every care is made to ensure you have a great stay - this is definitely my home away from home! The people who form part of the staff are like family now - very highly recommended!
We did feel like in old Granada in this place. The room was spacious and clean. There is no breakfast, you must buy your own things to eat. The receptionist was very helpful, with advices. There is an agreement with the parking place nearby, do not forget to ask about if you arrive by car. Granada is.... just go and see for yourselves, it's just lovely :)
The location is indeed great, the place is very clean and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. But, as we didn't plan to stay in the room too much, we opted for one of the simpler rooms (without a view). But it's quite a stretch to call a room without an actual window "a room without a view"! Yes, we had a window, which could open on the street right outside (the room was on the ground floor) and hence wasn't really openable due to the traffic and the possibility to look inside. The bedroom was on the mezzanine, but there was no window upstairs; instead, the lighting was installed in a way to fake daylight. In addition, as the room was right next to the reception, we could hear everybody walking by and talking with the receptionist (so I assume they could hear us too). Last but not least, the smell of smoking could get into the room (I assume from someone smoking in the reception). To summarise, I can't advise against staying at this property as it has many advantages, but avoid staying in room number 8 next to the reception (I wouldn't stay there even for free).
This apartment is in a superb location close to the centre of Granada. We chose a Superior Apartment on the 1st floor. The apartment was very spacious and comfortable with good facilities. The problem was the noise from the street, mainly during the day. Even though we closed the windows the sound of the motor bikes was loud. The apartment itself was quiet. The staff were very helpful and offered us the option of moving to another room if we paid for the upgrade. We chose not to as the traffic was not as bad during the night. The Receptionist was very polite, friendly and helpful. I did not look at the pictures properly and expected a balcony that you could sit on but it was a very small French balcony that you could not access. I am not sure why a balcony is even in the description as you are not able to use it. However, the Teerace that is for all guests to use was magnificent with wonderful views of the Alhambra. We used it every one of the 4 nights we stayed there. I would stay here again but choose a higher floor not facing the road.
We loved our stay!!! We had a "superior" room on first floor which was great for us. We felt at home straight away with the warm welcome we received. The description was accurate so no surprises. I hadn't planned to cook more than breakfast so the kitchenette size (compact) didn't bother us! Why would you cook in Granada anyway?? Bed very comfortable, shower fab, bath towels huge (a big plus for my hubby),kitchen eqpt more than adequate, road quiet at night, loved the moorish theme. We loved having drinks on the shared terrace watching the view and meeting other guests...especially little Matthew!! One day when the plants on the terrace were being replaced Manuel (i think that's his name -I'm rubbish at remembering names)..let us use his own private terrace. This was part of the relaxed, friendly atmosphere we enjoyed. We can't speak for other rooms - just choose carefully.
We stayed here for a week, and it was pretty good. The top floor apartment, number 7 (executive with jacuzzi and partial alhambra view). Probably the best room besides the penthouse. The view from the living room is very lovely, and the family terrace we had access too was awesome. Also excellent kitchen utensils including a French press and a juicer! The apartment was clean. With a little love, this place could be magic. The sofa had what appeared to be bleach stains and could use an update. The bed was pretty uncomfortable (but this is a very subjective subject, I like softer mattresses. The jacuzzi is really nice, but like some of the other decorative pieces, could use some updating. Fresh new tiling and updated bathroom fixtures (in the tiny bathroom closet with toilet and sink too) would go a long way! The other apartment we stayed in in granada was really updated and about $30 cheaper a night (also had an alhambra view).
