We had an amazing room - although a bit of a maze to get there.... the View was outstanding. Overlooking the harbour with all the yachts and even saw a Wallaby and her young on the other side of the canal. The room was lovely and clean with a wonderful bar downstairs where we were able to enjoy the happy hour whilst we were there too Breakfast was had overlooking the boats and the staff were very pleasant and helpful
Hard to find at night. Thank God for GPS. But not even the gps will get you to the front entrance. Keep an eye out for unlit signs in the darkness to find your way. But once there very impressive foyer and night attendant. Spacious rooms with worn out mattresses. Sunk in the middle feeling. Can be tricky and a long wait to exit onto main road with ongoing road works but that is factored into the price paid I guess.
This was our first time visiting this establishment to chill out on a Sunday afternoon to watch the live music and enjoy a couple of drinks and have a nice late lunch. Nearly an hour after ordering our food we were advised that they were out of the salt and pepper calamari. So we ordered a seafood pizza to replace this. Another half an hour later and our “food” arrived. The bruschetta was nothing short of small pieces of untoasted round bread with about a teaspoon of flavourless tomatoes put on top & at least three pieces of the pizza had only one piece of any unrecognisable seafood on top and my “steak sandwich”was cold-A few slices of cold meat on cold toast. We then had our kids join us so we ordered them some chips. 20 minutes later we were advised that the chef was cleaning out the deep fryer & chips were unavailable. Why on earth cleaning out a deep fryer in the middle of service when there were 30-40 people ordering bar snacks is beyond me. So we ordered them a pizza which took another 20 minutes. On top of this we were charged a 15% surcharge for every single drink and all of the food as it was Easter Sunday. No food was refunded. Thankfully the front of house staff (one who was a food and beverage supervisor) took all the responsibility even though it wasn’t their fault and did their best to accommodate us with profusely apologising and offering a round of drinks. The front of house staff deserve a lot of credit because they were dealing with a lot of complaints about the food that day. They couldn’t have done more. Definitely won’t be eating there again.
We had a lovely two night stay but were appalled with the lack of environmental awareness... plastic straws in the bar... seriously?! Try removing these all together, or at least offering paper straws! Then there was the sign in the room saying you want our help to save the planet - was this ironic? It said to hang up towels if we didn't need them replaced, we did this yet housekeeping still replaced all 4 towels after just one use. Same goes for the individually-plastic-wrapped soap... we used it once and it was then replaced with a brand new (also plastic-wrapped) bar. Picture this happening in EVERY room, EVERY day... it adds up to a massive waste of the planet's resources. Please, for the love of this planet, train your bar and housekeeping staff better - teach them how to respect the planet. My 4 and 8 year old children pointed out most of these failings! It takes a few simple steps to help the planet. This would have been a 5 star review if it hadn't been for these appallingly bad environmental failings.
Basic buffet breakfast, nothing special and priced accordingly. Staff were ok and all the food and preperation areas were clean ,there was a really nice view up to the end of the canal but then it is all a work site.
After travelling in very heavy rain from Brisbane, we were relieved to arrive at our destination. Location maybe not so great but this was not an issue for us. We were met with a very friendly welcome and efficient check in by Ray. Ray extended the highest level of service during that afternoon/evening answering my queries and making breakfast bookings for family who were joining us for the buffet the next morning. The buffet breakfast was superb along with being great value and staff providing excellent service. The Ramada met all our needs. The undercover parking was a blessing on our arrival with the weather being so wet. I would have liked to see more information on the Hotel in the room itself but a call to reception answered any query I had. I would stay at the Ramada again and would recommend the Hotel.
IF you want stunning views of a building site, Groups of footy kids and bogans having free rain over the whole complex to make as much noise at all hours and generally be a nuisance, and be in the middle of nowhere then this is the place for you. there is nothing within walking distance. so be prepared to drive 15min just to see a 7/11. Forget trying to rest or relax because all rooms are around the pools and with the design it echos. once again screaming kids and parents who have no idea about social descency and respect of others. The one restaurant never opened because "private function". (kids again) overpriced pub food in the bar which was nice enough but not worth the money and they where happy to let people smoke near the tables, even though it's clearly signed. The staff are nice and the room is too. For the money paid I expect better amenities and even basic things like not using cheap coffee and not even a biscuit, cutlery or plates. I've stayed in 3star that where better then this place and half the price. having stayed in Ramada all over Sth Pacific and Asia this place is a joke.Told the staff on a few occasions how p"ss"d off I was and nothing. Formal complaint- nothing. I only picked this place because of the location -next time i'll pay less for a room and travel an extra 20 minutes.
Stayed single night on a Friday. Room was 2 queen beds and a balcony overlooking the pool. Very reasonable price, quiet air conditioned, clean and very comfortable. Nice bar and cafe (also have a restaurant) with live music. Check-in was very easy and very friendly. I was visiting Hope island for business, not visiting the beach action.
The hotel is a bit far to the main attractions in the Gold Coast, but it is fairly close to other beautiful beaches. The room was very clean. The movies are free. There are two outdoor pools and a Sauna. The buffet breakfast was also really good. Overall, I recommend this hotel for a family stay.
Helen and the team made my event a success. The hotel is nicely positioned close to the marina and away from the noise of surfers paradise. Highly recommended for a work function or for a couples getaway.
