Ramada Hotel Hope Harbour

Really nice hotel with an adjacent marina. Some might think it was out of the way but the drive to Surfers Paradise is not that bad and easily accessible by car. Lunch in their bar/cafe (fish and chips) by the marina was very nice and good value. However, breakfast in the restaurant was most unappetising and not very good value at all. My best tip: if you are able, drive north for about 10 minutes around to Sanctuary Cove where you will find at least 3 excellent places for breakfast and coffee. Apart from breakfast, we enjoyed our stay at Ramada Hope Harbour very much.

Husband and I stayed at the Ramada for two nights. Shane at reception was very friendly and helpful. On arrival my husband and I enjoyed a drink at the bar after checking in. You are given a free drinks voucher. Our room was very modern and clean. The bed was very comfortable and on the first night I wasn't able to stay awake to watch a movie because it was so comfortable. The shower was my favourite thing in the room because it had excellent pressure and heat. Very happy to have stayed and would definitely stay again. Highly recommend!

We stayed at the Ramada for 4 nights, the staff were welcoming friendly Room service-the food was terrible, the worst we have ever experienced. Although the rooms were clean the bottom of the shower screen needed a good clean. The bed was hard, and the pillows not very comfortable. A plus free movies!

Had a little trouble finding the Ramada initially, GPS had me going all over the place. Finally arrived and was greatly relieved. Hotel is lovely. Checked in, room was a little hard to find, bit of a rabbit warren the way the rooms are set out, but they are very roomy with a big bathroom, I was overlooking the pool on level 3. Had friends join me for dinner, unfortunately what they wanted wasn't available, but opted for the Atlantic Salmon instead. I Tried the fish of the day - Red Emporer really nice. Breakfast next morning was an assortment of cereals, fruit, cooked breakfast etc. Glad it was included in my stay. Staff very friendly and helpful. Am returning on Monday night with my family and am sure they'll love it too. Really liked that it was away from the craziness of Surfers. Has underground secure parking as well once you check in, it's accessible with your room key.

Friday night and we were going out for a meal with friends.....let's try the restaurant at thr Ramada. We booked and arrived at an almost empty room with little ambience, the waitress was present and so we ordered from the menu....we were then advised that three main dishes were not available and were "steered" towards what was left in the kitchen. We ordered fish of the day and rib eye steak. Well, the fish arrived boiled and the rib eye had been thrown in a frying pan. The accompanying graten potatoes had paper stuck to the base. This was "Greasy Spoon Cafe" standard and the worst meal we have had for a long time in the Gold Coast. They need to take a long hard look at this restaurant before thr Commonwealth games as it lets down the hotel and the Gold Coast. Get some proper chefs and serve good food from a well stocked menu. Will not be going there again and will be advising our large circle of friends to steer clear.

Great place to stay very quiet, staff are always helpful and polite. Rooms are clean and spaces, beds good and comfortable. Restaurant menu is a bit short but ok, would recommend just ordering through the bar as prices a bit high in hotel restaurant.

We had a quick overnight stop at the Ramada. We had a large room with two queen beds. It was clean and spacious with a view over the pool and amazing harbour. Our only let down was the food. We ate in the bar in the evening and had the buffet breakfast. Both were quite disappointing. Would have got a 4 in review if the food had been better.

On arrival, we thought wow! The lobby has great views and is well appointed; comfortable furniture, uncluttered. First impression was of a 4+ star hotel. Check-in was adequate. Hard to pinpoint. The person did everything he had to do in a courteous manner but the overall impression was that he was extremely bored. His responses were adequate at best. The room on the third floor was huge. It was very nice - large comfortable bed, nice area to sit plus a work space. Bathroom was well appointed. There was air con for those who needed it. The biggest downside was that with the outside door open there was a smell of cigarette smoke wafting into our room which was very unpleasant. Many of the rooms are not particularly private because they face another room. There is nowhere to get coffee or a snack until "about 5pm" when the bar opens. The bar menu is expensive for a bar menu (prices more suited to a restaurant). Breakfast is ridiculous - $22 (discounted rate). The food was good if it had been delivered promptly but my fish was soggy and luke warm. I think it could have been nice though. Portion sizes were interesting. I had fish and chips, my husband the steak sandwich. He received an acceptable serving of chips; I got 20 only. Using the stairs is obviously something people don't do. Reception made it sound like too much trouble to find them or explain how it worked. Basement car parking was free. Wi-fi in the room and good speed. Watch out when you walk along the boardwalk in front of the hotel by the marina; we had to dodge dog poo and dog diarrohea. Not the fault of the hotel. The Body Corporate needs to step up. I got the feeling there was so much potential in this hotel. A coffee shop is a must and maybe some staff who want to be there and are more enthusiastic and welcoming.

The hotel looks inviting from the entrance, foyer and reception area. The receptionist was friendly and helpful with any inquiry. Access to the room on the second floor by lift but there was a long walk, then down steps and through doors to get to our room. The room was quite large with two double beds which were very comfortable. Not sure who designed this hotel but there was a slope up to the bathroom - easy to loose you balance coming into the bedroom after a shower. Unfortunately the stocking of tea, coffee and milk was poor. On Friday night they have a live band in the bar which is very popular with patrons (Locals and visitors). We were the only guests (four people) for dinner in the hotel dining room (Saturday Night!) and although the meals were excellent they were overpriced. There is a nice walk along the waterfront overlooking the marina. Having a secure underground parking allocation was excellent (access by room swipe card).

Nice on arrival, Rooms very basic for price, Our room looked onto a construction site, not nice to look at. Meals were way overpriced for what we got, they came out separately after being ordered together we were a party of 6, the meals were ordered together after a 20 minute wait from receiving the first 2 meals, we had to ask where the last meal was, they forgot to cook it another 10 minutes it arrived everyone else was finished eating. Very poor service.
