House keepers should not knock on the door at 9 am on a room that is checking out later that morning.

A delightful stay with quality service in the dining facilities. Would gladly visit again.

The garden in the middle of the property was very enjoyable. We enjoyed a glass of wine from the garden bar by a fire pit surrounded by a few friendly people. The room we were initially assigned was awful. The carpet was really stained - big stains too. The view was the roof out the back of the hotel. Pretty small room too. We asked for a new room and they were very accommodating by giving us a cleaner room with a good view. I like the historical aspect of this hotel but it needs a lot of updates inside.

Would stay there again..

The Colorado Hotel is not state of the art as most resorts, but it makes up for it with charm and history. Presidents have stayed when it was a get away for the rich and famous. Have stayed before and will again in the future.

Great historical building in great condition. Large room, pet friendly, and great food in the restaurant!

Wonderful historic hotel with big rooms at an affordable price

Old hotel, well kept. Nice dining and bar area on outside patio.

I am a fan of historic hotels and this is a beautiful old hotel, ripe for exploration. On the downside, it was a hot week and the room took a long time to cool down - thankfully there was a ceiling fan in the room which helped tremendously because the heavy curtains covered the window AC. When we called for room service, the number was misidentified on the phone, so nobody answered. I called the operator who put me through but then seemed annoyed because nobody answered and it kept rerouting to her. Room service was pricey for what we received and it was cold, and some items were forgotten. At checkout, the clerk was not very friendly. So - in general, it was a lovely old hotel but just an ok experience.

Carol was great at the front desk. Really helpful and nice.

The Historical aspect of the hotel is unbelievable, but the rooms need a lot of work.

I booked the hotel knowing it was an older property, and it is. They are investing in it to bring it up to modern standards, for example, the mattress was very good. It was the staff and poor management that was the problem. We got a glimpse of that when trying to check in at 2 pm, earlier than the 4 pm published time. While normally this is has not been a problem for us, the front desk told us that no rooms in our class were ready yet, come back at 3:30. Ok, we did that and the room was about what we expected, although there was no coffee maker in the room. In our experience, whatever the reason for no coffee in the room, generally the accommodations has coffee in a lounge area. Not Hotel Colorado, one had to buy coffee, about $3 per cup at the coffee shop which was staffed by one person, resulting in a long line. (By the way, the front desk told us when asked about the coffee situation that shouldn't drink coffee anyway since it was bad for us, that while they operate a coffee shop.) We tried to go to breakfast, but were told there was a 45 minute wait, that while the dining room was half empty. It seems they insisted on serving breakfast instead of setting up a buffet table for much faster service, from which they actually could have made more money, so many people left after learning of the wait time. The idea of a hotel such as this, I think, is to recapture a grander, more gracious past time, and it failed on this completely.

Good for a real old hotel. No ghosts.

Everything was excellent, except for the fact that we couldn’t cool out room below 75 degrees, even when it was 27 degrees out and our window was completely open. No, the radiators were not on. There is simply zero air flow in there at night. Summer must be a nightmare.

Beautiful historic and charming hotel. Within walking distance of everything! Loved it, highly recommend

Very nice old place, I'd go there again.

We both thought that it was very clean the room was was clean and comfortable, and the staff was very friendly and helpful I would recommend staying there to anyone.
