Great Guest House

The excellent comfort of this guest house enhanced our stay in Glasgow. The breakfast was cooked to perfection and the choices were extensive. The only thing I would change is to book a room with ensuite next time. It was only a short walk to the bathroom however the sink in our room did a gurgling sound for about 10 mins after being used. Not great when you are trying to get off to sleep 😪

When first booked I did not check the detail adequately enough and was allocated a room with a separate bathroom across the hall (Shetland). Prior to arrival I paid for an upgrade to an en-suite room allocated by the hotel (Jura). Jura was nicely furnished but small and the en-suite was also small. There was no hot water at all on the last morning of departure and our schedule did not allow us to wait. Just before breakfast, after a cold shower, bathrooms with an electric shower was offered. The bedding and the breakfast was excellent. The on street parking is a bit of a hassle and paid for as an extra if necessary.

This is a very intimate and beautiful hotel in Glasgow. It has an historic feel and staff were wonderful. A special thanks to Jennifer for her help with luggage and booking taxi services and advice on restaurants.

It was so relaxing to arrive after a very long journey, and be made so welcome. The room was immaculate, beautifully arranged and scrupulously clean. En suite facilities were impeccable. The included breakfast they provide is very impressive, and overall, the hotel staff were very helpful, engaging, and nice. The room we had did have a bit of a musty odor, but it soon went away and was likely due to the age of the building. Overall, it's a very nice traditional-style hotel. If that's what you are looking for, you will enjoy it immensely. There are very nice walks right next to the park, with great restaurants and bars very close by as well.
