The location of this property in Geneva could not be better. Literally adjacent to the train station, shopping, excellent cafés and restaurants, and within a five minute walk of the lake and the promenade. Excellent for a solo traveler or a couple. Staff was warm and attentive and housekeeping, efficient and daily. I will absolutely stay here again when I return to Geneva.

My strategy is to book a hotel within walking distance of the train station, and Hotel Cristal fits this criterion. PROs: Walking distance to a vibrant shopping streets, e.g., Mont Blanc, Berne, etc., and plenty of eateries. Small cozy hotel room with all the convenience, clean, and topnotch shower! An off-season reasonable price. Excellent breakfast on the 8th Floor with a fantastic view at sunrise! Polite breakfast assistants. Nice lounge area which I never used to relax or do anything. CONs: Room could use a larger TV screen. More central lightings needed even though eco-friendliness is at play here. Hotel still uses traditional room keys with heavy metal keychain - imagine carrying that around town in your backpack! No free local newspapers for customers. Front desk staff could be a little less formal. But again chitchat is optional, and staff is a bit too cold and formal. An excellent choice after all. Recommended.

Service from front desk manager was very good . There were few amenities missing and they were able to accomodate. Room is nice however the bed is too low and they are more like 2 twin beds instead of queen size beds for couple. There was some chemical cleaning smell in the room , so we had to open windows. There are glass doors and got to be cautious not to hurt yourself going to bathroom etc. Our overall stay was pleasant and central to all places, 5 minute walk to the train station , supermarket and restaurants

Central, Clean, and Comfortable

I stayed at Hotel Cristal while attending business conferences in Geneva, and it was a great choice for my trip. The hotel’s excellent central location, just a short walk from Gare Cornavin, made it incredibly convenient to get around the city. There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, which was perfect for quick meals and evening strolls after work. The hotel was very clean and well-maintained, something I truly appreciated during a busy schedule. While the room was a bit small, it was comfortable and quiet—ideal for resting at night after long conference days. A special mention goes to the friendly and helpful staff, who made my stay smooth and pleasant with their warm service. Overall, I would recommend Hotel Cristal to business travelers and tourists alike looking for a clean, centrally located hotel with great service in Geneva.
