Park House Hotel

Don't get me wrong--the hotel is nice, but our experience was disappointing. We were traveling around Ireland, and as a result of hurricane Ophelia, we had to stay an extra night in southern Ireland. This unexpected event had a doimino effect on the rest of our travel schedule (we were going to a new location each day around the country). We scheduled travel via Orbitz; The Park House was the only hotel unwilling to work with us--we had to make our way to Galway and stay or eat the cost. Beautiful lobby and the receptionist was friendly. Parking was somewaht tricky. Breakfast was OK but nothing special. The room was clean. Overall, I was expecting more relative to the rating of the hotel.

This hotel is around the corner from the bus station and train station. It is a short walk to Eyre Square and beyond. There is a very large restaurant inside and a very pretty bar. While we did not eat at the restaurant, there were always many people who did. Many of them seemed to be local, especially in the evenings. Our only complaint with the hotel is that it was reminiscent of old London. Heavy on the brass fixtures, floral carpeting, and stuffy couches everywhere. Many people frequent the hotel for afternoon tea. Our room was spotless but contained an incredible amount of furniture. It was rather cramped. In short, beautiful facility, good location, quiet, but a bit dated and reserved. Staff was helpful.

Park House Hotel is central to Galway. It's a lovely hotel and the staff were helpful. I stayed here during the Christmas Market and it was a delight!

This was a great hotel in the heart of Galway. I would absolutely stay here again. The staff were professional, kind and courteous. The room was clean and spacious and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was excellent- it was a great way to fill up and start your day. No complaints here! Don't hesitate to book your room here.

NYT raved about this place. It was ok, but the heyday seems to have passed. Very helpful staff, but the rooms were pretty outdated.

Room was large and nicely furnished. Restaurant and bar were very good.

We stayed here for three nights. Prior to arrival we had communicated with reservations with some special requests. Everyone was very responsive both via email and in person. Have never had a better hotel experience in anywhere in Europe.

Great staff and nice bar, vintage details with ornate carpets and woodworking. Good food, great location walking distance to the main tourist area in Galway and across the street from the bus stations. Gobus offera a straight shot from Dublin city and costs $12 pp.

Our first night in Ireland was in Galway at Park House Hotel. We were very pleased with the entire staff. The front desk staff went out of their way to be helpful. The restaurant has great food with good service. The only problem is the access due to street construction. Parking is in the rear of the hotel. Very nice hotel.

Had a great time staying with the Park House Hotel during our recent stay in Galway. Would recommend to others!

A grand old hotel with attentive and friendly staff, great room service and proper kippers for breakfast

Nivce place, very convenient to everything. Everything looked good and was what we expected.

Located only yards away from both train and bus stations. Located only steps away from Eyre Square (the center of Galway City) Located across the street from a "convenience store" (Centra), which stocks almost everything.

It's a quaint little place that's in a great location by Eyre Square so it's close to the shopping and nightlife. We encountered very courteous staff, especially the parking attendant who went above and beyond.

The staff were extremely accommodating and even made a custom thanksgiving dinner for my girlfriend and I.

We spend 4 days at this hotel and really liked the location. It is right next to Eyre Square and a short walk from most of the shops. The included breakfast was good and the staff was very friendly. Based on how nice the room was I think this hotel is a good value.

When I booked...I wasn't sure... I'm picky...I just read reviews, like you're doing now. Two words...STAY HERE. Its a simple equation : free WIFI, FULL free breakfast in lovely dining room, GREAT location...in the heart of all that happens in downtown Galway, close to bus station, exceptional staff. Rooms are fresh and clean. showers are hot with towel warming bar and fluffy towels, I didnt want to get out! My daughter had a tooth problem at 5:00 am and the front desk attendant found us three dentists within walking distance (one in building!). Problem solved by noon! The staff called to check on her too! They also let us check-in early--after a long trip it was MUCH appreciated! will stay here again!

Location, location... This hotel is a block from the bus/train station. Staff...very friendly and helpful. Restaurant...great service. I only ate breakfast there and one snack with a glass of Guinness. On all occasions the waitresses were willing to adjust the menu to exactly what I wanted. Room: clean, quaint...good bed...clean, modern bathroom.

This hotel is just a block or two away from the train and bus station, as well as the main square in town. The pedestrian shopping street is a few short blocks away. (Galway city centre is small). There are a lot of dining and pub options nearby too, and the tourist information center is on the same block. The room itself was nice and clean, and the hotel offers free wifi. We didn't dine in the restaurant, though it looked nice. Front desk staff was friendly and efficient. The hair dryer was old fashioned and took a while to get the job done. That's literally the only complaint. Overall, very nice and fantastic location.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Great location and comfortable large rooms. Would definitely stay again.

Dear Donna, Thanks for taking the time in giving us a review. We have taken your suggestions into consideration as we will be renovating very in the near future, and a business would be useful for most guests. The style we have is old world charm, and most people love it, but we can understand that it is not for everyone. If you do find yourself in Galway again, please visit us after we alter our interior a bit.
