The Tremont House, A Wyndham Grand Hotel

Recent guest reviews

Beautiful place and location . A lot of nearby shops, antique architectures, verey bohemian ambient. Love it! Want to fo back soon!

First we paid a arm and leg a night for a suite for four people. When we got to our room, no bedding for the second bed (four people) only towels enough for 2.5 people, batteries were dead in the remote....... I called to guest services and they said okay and put me on hold for about ten minutes, I hung up and called back. Girl at the desk said sorry we got busy.....So you forget the people on the phone because you got their money's already...,. The reservation was for four people, you would think that they would make sure to accommodate for four people!!!! Hopefully they will post this, I just read everything they won't post so.... To bad, Other than the fortune we spent on the room we had a Great time in Galveston TX

There was a mix up on our reservation and we had to settle for a single King bed instead of two Queens. We get to our room and there was hair and dirt on the floor where we put our bags. A roll away bed was brought to our room(no charge) with dirty red duct tape on the handles. The ceiling has cracks along the molding and out tub was dirty. Just very disappointed for the price of the room and the history of the hotel to have experienced such a disappointing stay.

We had a great time. We only stayed one night, but the experience was amazing. The character of the hotel put it over the top. The staff was very attentive and e couldn't have had a better time.

Beautiful hotel, comfortable a d clean rooms. Great service! Breakfast in the cage was also good. Will be our go to place when we cruise again.

Very helpful staff. What a great stay. Had pizza in the lobby restaurant that was very tasty.

Very nice experience. Stayed for Mardi Gras 2018 and location is excellent.

The hotel is a landmark hotel with charm and it is right across the street from the cruise terminal.

We had two rooms. One by elevator which is VERY VERY VERY loud. Could also hear band playing in lobby in our room late at night. Had to call front desk to see when they stopped paying so we could sleep. We were on the third floor not a lobby floor!!! Other room had construction going on early in morning that woke up everyone. Then the ihome which was UNPLUGGED went off multiples times at 7am. Couldn’t shut it off had to call front desk. When we Spoke to front desk the next morning her response was “what do you want me to do”.

We went for Dickens on the Strand and to see A Christmas Carol at The Grand Opera House. They valet park your vehicle parking runs about $20 a day. The rooms are nice spacious and the beds have very comfortable mattresses. Roof Top Bar is fun and beautiful lounge in lobby with piano, brass band and Christmas Carolers. The only thing that could use improvement is in room tv, very limited but you could rent a movie for $19 plus tax etc... over all beautiful Hotel!

Pampered, luxurious, fabulous-Tremont House never disappoints!

We had a tough time deciding on a hotel in Galveston since we had never been before. I saw this one and read the reviews. All seemed like it would be a great place to stay, and it was! My wife and I loved it. Great location. I had back surgery not too long ago and have a hard time finding good mattresses when I am away from home. My bed was perfect! Loved the historic building and area around it. We just wish we could have stayed much longer...and we will next time!

Enjoyed our stay. The Tremont is in an ideal location for people to take a walking tour of Galveston. Our room was comfortable. Had hoped there would be a mini fridge. There was an ugly stain on the wall, almost behind the curtains. Reddish in color.

The room was so elegant and sophisticated....definitely for those with discerning taste. It was a block from the strand and the hotel offers shuttle service to local restaurants and attractioms. It was wonderful

Could smell burnt toast in our room all day the Monday we checked out. Two capped off cooper pipes sticking out of bathroom wall about 6 inches, an extreme trip hazard. Most likely from a old hot water heating system. Would have been easy to cap off at the wall. Floor mount door stop for closet door was to for off wall. One in our party tripped on it several times. Did not think to take pictures.

Popular with both locals & out of towners. Famous bar built in 1888. Place recently upgraded.

Great location to walk the historic district and to shops, restaurants and the bay. Great rooftop bar, cafe and classic lobby bar!

Nice staff, clean, good and cheap food. Room was great, comfy. Quiet enviroment. Nice bars and they have a rooftop bar. Although i didnt get to use it. Always on time with the food schedule, great chef, and she was quick

This hotel is in the historical Stand District of Galveston and an easy drive to the beach.

I choose this place for my wife and I as a get away. I am in the Navy and we don't see each other much. The check in process was great. Staff was very friendly. The room was nice, but the shower didn't work. We reported it but no one came by to look at it. I would not stay here again.
