Closing Time at the Victorian

To begin with, we had to keep the thermostat set to 45 in order to keep the room cooled to 78. The ceiling fan in the bedroom rattled and knocked all night bad enough for us to have to stop using it and take a walk to Walmart, which is located conveniently in the next block, and buy a small oscillating fan to use instead. We could see the ocean once we looked past the yogurt store. The walk to the ocean was not bad. Just half a block to the closest intersection in order to cross with the lights. The restaurant, Kitty's Seaside Cafe is small and has good home cooked food. Be sure and ask to speak with Kitty herself. You'll enjoy the experience! We did! The pool and hot tub hours are 10am to 10pm. We were going to swim one morning, but found it still padlocked at 10:57am. The two hot tubs were located three floors below our room, but a very noisy group of people were still in it at 11pm. The layout of the room that we stayed in had the bedroom adjacent to the hallway with a window next to the bed. The light by the door was directly outside of that window. Even with the curtains closed, it was very bright in the bedroom. All in all, I'm sorry to say that our stay at the Victorian was a disappointing experience.

The location of this hotel directly across the street from Galveston Beach was a plus. The staff were very nice. The condo supplies were 2nd rate. The two plastic lounge chairs on the condo outdoor deck were both broken and unusable. The patio table had a hole in the edge of the table. The cooking and eating utensils were second rate stuff and very cheaply made. There was no frying pan or blender. the kitchen stove was an old two burner stove with loose burners. The fridge was like something one would use in a dorm room. The bedroom was very small and had no windows and no ceiling fan. The pools were very nice and well kept as was the garden area but the stairwells and the underground parking areas were unswept and had small trash in the corners and around buildings. The ice machine was in a different building from the one we had and we had to go down stairs and cross the pool area and then climb the stairs of the next building and walk to the central area of that building to get ice. For the price we paid for this condo=hotel, the property was ok. It just was not a four star property. It was more like a three star. It is located in a very good location and easy to find. For the amount we paid, I think we got a fair value.

We where treated great from the time we arrived till we went home. It was raining bad the moring we where leaving and the staff extened our leave time at no charge till rain stoped. This was great as we where one of 400,000 motorcyclest in Galvaston and hade a 250 mile trip back home.

Great security and ammenities... over $200/night... just a little too much

It was a great trip overall the room could have been a little nicer and cleaner

The room was flat amazing. It was like having a mini-apartment that even had dishes, great room service, and a friendly and very helpful staff. The only reason I didn't rate this with 5 stars was that the breakfast they included was about average. Overall, an very great place to stay!

Room was clean & comfortable, with a good location on Galveston Island

during our stay with friends we enjoyed all the events the lonestar biker rally had to offer. The hotel had a bike wash which was very convienent and parking was great for both bikes and vehicles.

Location- right on the sea wall road with sand beach. Security- Whole place is gated with a guard at the gate. was two women alone and felt safe and secure at all times. We were two ladies traveling alone and looking to spend the night before catching a cruise ship. The place was great. We had never been to Galv and was worried. Used there cruise parking and shuttel. I did read bad reviews, and asked the manager about it because I was quite plesently shocked when I saw how nice the condo and property was. He said the confusion is because not all of the condos on the property are owned by Wyndham. The condos that are owned by Wyndham are well maintained. Beautiful place.

nice 2 days in Galveston

We visited places on the Seawall and the Strand, drove around looking at homes and tree carvings, ate in some wonderful places, walked on the beach and along the seawall and sat on our private balcony watching the water.

The door did not lock. It could be pushed open.

older condos need a lil work..

We were in Galveston on a mini vacation and have stayed at about 10 different hotels in Galveston. We will never stay at this hotel again. The hotel is very old and hasn't been updated in years. The room smelled like stale mold, the AC would not cool below 80 degrees, the internet signal was so low that even with a booster it wouldn't work, the bedroom TV was against the wall where it was impossible to see from the bed, the floors were all tile and were dirty so we had to walk around with socks on the whole time, the pillows were hard and lumpy, there is only one ice machine in the center building which is far away from the other buildings, the water pressure in the shower was extremely low, the tub/shower was smaller than any shower I have seen, the towels were hard as if they were hung outside to dry, HGTV was not offered on cable TV. I would rate this hotel a negative 1. We actually had booked this hotel for 2 nights in the coming month but canceled the reservation to book somewhere after staying one night.

Room was clean and large, great location right next to beach. Very friendly staff. We did try to swim after dinner and the pools were already locked, would have been nice if they didn't close right at ten when the sun goes down so late in the summer. But that was our one and only complaint!! :)

overall experience was great cozy room with a great price very friendly staff striving to accomodatte there guest. very pleased

The furniture and appliances need to be updated. It was nice, the view was great.

we went to beach and out to eat..mostly relaxed!!

We have stayed here before and like the convenience.

Close to beach, good security, rooms pretty clean, breakfast buffet was not good Did not like the late check in 4:00pm and early check out at 11:00am.
