The hotel is the only one my wife and I found in easy walking distance to downtown Frederick, and that's why we booked it. The location is good for that, and the front desk staff was wonderful. That said, the building is on the old side, and clearly allowed indoor smoking at some point. Also it is next to the highway, and thus is not in the nicest area (we didn't feel unsafe, but there was a loud argument in the parking lot around midnight one of the nights we stayed there)
Didn’t like ant crawling on my face when I woke up in morning- no kidding,, this really happened
room was quite clean, hallways had some musty smell though. staff was actually at the front desk, a rarity with hotels at night anymore. parking lot well lit. good deal for the money.
To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much from Super 8. They welcomed our pet with only a $10 per night fee. What I thought would be a pet friendly room (stains and smells) turned out to be a pretty great room. Laminate floors, firm double beds, fridge and microwave. Everything looked clean. Breakfast was also a highlight; waffles, cereal, juice, coffee, yogurt, fruit, toast, oatmeal, eggs, sausage etc. Very fancy for a Super 8, in my opinion.
Building is very old and lots of stuff not up to code. No smoke alarms, old electric panels, narrow doors, tiny elevator. Generally clean. Breakfast was fine.
Staff was nice and patient when dealing with wait for confirmation from Orbitz. Rosa was staff at the desk checking me in. Confirmation wait was too long.
It was a decent room with a clean bed. The elevator door would close on you and really hurt my girlfriends arm.
Didn’t like $58 removed from my pants pocket while my pants were in my room on the floor. Didn’t like the fire alarm went off and the manager came out and said come back in and the Firemen never showed up to clear the building. Didn’t like the ceiling tile was dripping water and they pulled all tiles down when I was away for the day and left them out and never moved me to another room. Didn’t like the bums hanyout in front of the hotel looking for cigarette butts to smoke and the fact that they were drunk and no one asked them to leave. Didn’t like thr fire alarm had a screw in the handle making it impossible to pull in the event of a real fire. Pretty sure that’s illegal!!!
Nice, comfortable room. Good value. The TV set up could be improved. I couldn't find the guide on the remote and some channels didn't come in clear.
I stayed only one night, but as I drove up there were many groups of people loitering around the entire building. It was a bit unsettling for a lone traveler late at night. The desk clerk took a lot of time checking in or checking out the man in front of me...it was hard to tell which one. The room itself was surprisingly nice with a clean bathroom with some updates features and a fridge and microwave. Unfortunately whoever was in the room next to me very upset and shouting and swearing loudly. Again, didn’t exactly feel as safe as I would have liked.
The desk clerk was very accommodating, let us check in early so we could get ready for a wedding at 3. Room was very clean and everything was well stocked and just like we expected.
Generally a good place to spend a night when on travel, but do not expect much of it. Last time there was no hot water when we came late in the evening (11 pm), neither in the morning, so we had to go with a cold water wash out.
Typical east coast economy hotel located in pretty Maryland.
Horrible location. Broken items in room. Unwelcoming appearance outside. Very loud because of location. Updates needed very badly.
Shorty one night stay on way to DC. It was a quiet night and the beds are comfy.
