Stayed here as a group traveller on tour. The hotel is well located within an easy walk into the old town if you are feeling inclined. Some nice restaurants are nearby. The bar also offers a very good bar menu for lighter meals if you don't want to go to the restaurant. The rooms are a decent size and the bathroom was also good with a decent shower. One thing we did like was that there was a night light in the bathroom - it didn't intrude on sleeping but was excellent for waking in a strange room in the dark and finding your way to the bathroom. Buffet breakfast had a good selection.
Very good business hotel near the main subway station. Wort noting is that breakfast is not included in room price and it was relatively expensive 22€. Room was quiet on 4th floor. Some thicker pillows could had been available.
The title says it all! Reception is fine and check in was quick. Upon opening my room door I was shocked. Net curtain falling down, chipped and scratched furniture. Dirty and wet towel and stained carpets. Not to mention the bedding had a definite yellow tinge to it! At dinner the bread plate had a dead fly in it, the waitress blatantly brought out the same bread on a new plate. We asked what red wine they had and she just knew it was Spanish or German, not the name. After the meal we asked for a wine list in the bar and this took 20 minutes, so we gave up. For €10,50 for a very weak Gin and Tonic we would expect better service.
We were in this hotel for many times with my friends , many times because we had not options to be in another hotel from high occupancy reason in our dates . But in next time we will do everything to avoid this hotel . Lobby and reception area is acceptable , but rooms are old , used , stinky . This rooms are so far from 4 star hotels ! This hotel need immediate reconstruction !
First impressions were this place needs a bit of TLC. However delving deeper the hotel is quiet and comfortable. Location is very good accessed from the main town via a subway. Staff are friendly and speak excellent English Rooms are well furnished. Air con is a little asthmatic. Swimming pool is clean and well maintained. Gym Consists of three cardiovascular machines only. Few things lacking. No tea or coffee in room (although coffee available in reception) our room did not have a 'do not disturb' sign in the room and we were woken by housekeeping at 8am on check out day (not sure what they wanted) Other than that a pleasant stay
Charming old fashioned hotel. Very service orientated staff. Very good location to get into the old town.Quite a good brunch and dinner, but the furniture is really old fashioned Rooms are comfortable and Rooms are comfortable and The breakfast is great with a very large variety of food to choose from and the location is great, being only a two minute walk to the central station.
We have been visiting this hotel few times but this time it was really not up to our expectations. First the hotel looks very dated, it really needs a makeover It needed a good clean, the terrace was dirty and someone left the top part from the bottle and clearly the maids did not bother to clean it. The water was yellow, in the bath tub as well as in the shower, horrible. I could not believe it. We called the reception to sort it out, and they didn't. We had to run the water for about an hour to be able to see it clean and actually take a shower. We even tried the other room just to take the shower but the water was yellow and dirty there as well. And the internet, very slow, it took 20 min to be able to download google site, very annoying Very disappointed in deed.
2 adults, 3 kids (11-1yr). Stayed a night, in a double (mattress) and a roll out bed. Sheets and towels were rough. No air conditioner so it was hot. I opened the window for some air but it was so noisy and brightly lit. Room was dated though they did try a minor update to the bathroom. It was clean. We had dinner downstairs of the hotel... Burger looked great... it was "good" and the dessert was great. Good food selection. Kids pasta was very bland. And German whipped cream is just that... whipped cream no sugar like in the states! LOL. Service was pretty good and they all spoke English. Hotel location is great. Train station right outside, shopping and eats across the street, all very convenient!
The hotel is well situated near to Hauptbahnhof and within walking distance to the old town. There is a restaurant which looked ok but we didn't eat there. We had some drinks in the bar one evening which were in my opinion overpriced, staff at bar and hotel reception were not really interested in us. Overall could do with some updating and not a 4*.
Well located and reasonably priced hotel near to the Central Station. The room was a little dated but fine, the air-conditioning did not work and it was very hot at night! The WIFI did not work anywhere within the hotel for us. There was generally a nice ambiance and we were pleased to find a piano bar. To this point in the review I would have offered a 4 star rating, read on... We had an issue in this bar in that we were offered 2-4-1 on cocktails when we entered the bar (having previously been advised of the offer at reception that morning also) but after finishing the drinks were told that this was not for hotel guests but only for those attending a special function that night. Didn't make us as hotel guests feel very welcome and was too late to change to a beer as we had already finished the drinks. The bar staff were rude to my wife when challenged on this. We explained this to the reception team the next morning but Ms. Thormann was not interested in offering a 10 Euro credit as a goodwill gesture on settlement of our bill which I therefore paid in full. She pointed to a German flyer (I don't speak German) and insisted there was no managers on duty and she would have the final say, she was very abrupt and impolite - I have since tried to contact senior management but to no avail. Needless to say this review will also be shared with my firm's office (a major international consultancy business also resident in this city) to advise of the level of customer that I received and the disappointment I have experienced as not only was this a leisure trip but also a trip to plan potential future visits both leisure and business, to the city.
