First the good (I am a gold hilton member) We arrived late New Year's Eve around 10pm. We were told if we needed to eat the restaurant was closing shortly. With 4 mins to spare before closing we were seated and picked something simple off the menu. We picked 2 starters off the NYE menu. What arrived for a total of 26euro were 4 tablespoons of salad between the the two of us and what can only be described as two bent table spoons of chopped stuff. So don't go to the restaurant to eat unless your life depends on it. (Breakfast however was spectacular. Second our "superior" room .... probably was .....in the early 90s. While clean, at the price point ....well, let's just say I think a motel would crap on it from altitude and as a "hilton" well you have been warmed , it is to hilton what Krakow is to Paris. The thing that really got me wound up though is while they give gold members breakfast they couldn't reverse the fact that I had booked breakfast. "Because it was a computer booking" ........ Me, ARE YOU SERIOUS?!? What are you typing into now ? Them. "Sorry we cannot change it. " So don't go there unless you really have no alternative. There is a Hampton inn in town or motel one or anything else, that's had 20 years less use, has better food and treats loyalty with respect.
Definitley in need of a makeover. One or two light's not working, stale decor, old fittings etc. Not what you'd expect from a Hilton Hotel. However, on the positive side, our room had a good view of 1FCN (Nuremberg FC) training complex & we watched the squad training one Snowy morn. Staff are as you'd expect. Excellent. Bar prices very reasonable, which was a pleasant surprise.
Stayed there for 3 nights in Dec. Rooms are spacious, staff are friendly and very helpful. Not much to say about the restaurant and bar area. My breakfast wasn't included and was rather expensive and limited compare to other Hiltons I stayed even in Germany. Hotel isn't conveniently located (about 10 min and 20 Euros taxi ride from Nurnberg Hbf). Having said that, Bus 44 stop is right across the street and take you directly to downtown. You can also purchase 2-day pass directly from front desk for 10 Euros. Also, couple of nice restaurants w/ very good food (Tang, Chinese and Duck & Curry, Thai) are within 5 minutes walking distance.
For a night stopover this place was great. Not the best location for walking to restaurants or city but first class service. Price was great, service excellent and nice quiet rooms. Next to the football ground so maybe not so quiet on match days. Highly recommended
We were in Nuremberg for few days. It was a short family trip. Sometimes I stayed in Hilton, but mostly when it goes for business, so my HHonors has the lowest level. Hotel is good, but some things are confusing. For example Wifi - (probably this is a general Hilton issue) in our current life a free wifi is mandatary, not luxury. Unfortunately, Hilton offers free Wi-Fi only in the lobby. Free wifi is in the rooms for HHonors status clients. Next time I will decide more carefully and if the policy of the Hilton will be the same I will choose another hotel. But overall - the breakfest was great, very wide choice and everything was fresh and tasty. Staff is helpful and nice. Furniture is a little outdated and the hotel requires renovation, but it's clean. One more important thing I can not understand - if the room is without a minibar etc., why does the hotel require a deposit if the room is fully paid? Of course, some minimal deposit is often required in hotels, but I have never been asked to deposit more than 100 usd / eur. But there 50 eur per person, per night? Its more that I paid for the room with a breakfest. Strange ... Now I'm waiting when the blocked amount will be released... Will test how long it will take.
I stayed here for just over 3 weeks. It has a large, free car park which is shared with the football club so does get packed on match days. Check-in was efficient and I was offered a HH complimentary snack and drink. Room was ok but dated but had all the usual facilities including an unstocked fridge which I approve. The first room was way too warm and the AC is turned off this time of year so I moved to the other side of the hotel and this was much better. Breakfast was very good with a large selection and a well positioned, freshly squeezed orange juice dispenser. Staff in here were very efficient and friendly. At the weekends it gets very busy with non residents taking breakfast too. The main restaurant like most hotels is overpriced but the hotel is in an isolated location and there's only a couple of fast food outlets as well as a small supermarket within walking distance. Just outside, a very reliable and frequent bus service operates - €3 to the centre. The internet was not very reliable with constant interruptions. Laundry service as expected is expensive and I had a couple of issues regarding both collection and delivery with the receptionist showing very little concern or action regarding the return of my laundry despite handing it in at the correct time and I had to wait for the day staff to finally get it resolved and found but would have expected a discount for a sub standard service regarding this. On the whole the staff were polite, friendly and professional.
Hotel was great. I have stayed several times for 1 or 2 nights at a time. Never any complaints, and service, rooms, and cleanliness are always great. It's not the greatest location to stay st prior to flying out - takes about 20/25 mins to travel the 5 miles to the airport. But I like the location with plenty of parking and minimum congestion in the immediate area. The location worked out well on a sightseeing weekend, with a few notable places not too far.
We knew were coming by a minibus and wanted to stay within walking distance form the Nurnberg stadium - for these purposes Hilton was an excelent choice. Free parking and plenty of parking space as well. We also tried public transportation to visit the downtown and it wasn't too bad at all. I've seen nicer Hilton rooms, but the bed was still convenient. Breaksfast buffet was really a good way to start a new day. We received the usual high quality Hilton service. Nice areas around the hotel for wals and running but not for busy nightlife.
What a great place and what a place to go walking from. We turned up on motorcycles in the dead of winter and got there earlier that we expected. We had nowhere else booked and were at their mercy as a football game was on and so was a concert by some opera type. Although we had to change rooms on a daily basis as to what was allocated they looked after use and made our stay feel like we were being looked after as VIPs. I very highly recommend this hotel for its service and the food and bar are excellent. Food good the bar can get pricey when you want to make a night of it. The area has lots to see if you're into your history and we went out the next day for a brilliant walk around. Really enjoyed mi time in Nuremburg and stopping at the Hilton made it a great experience
The furnishings and the style of the room we stayed in was obviously dated but at the same time everything was quite clean and ended up being a fairly comfortable stay. Quality of the bed was pretty good given the condition of some of the other hotels we've been to along our trip. Pretty decent breakfast spread and a very friendly wait staff. I'd stayed here before a few years back and I'm happy to see that they have kept up their quality and service.
