My room left a lot to be desired. I had to sleep on one side of the bed for fear of the ceiling plaster falling on me. It had serious water damage throughout the room. The hotel was virtually empty and they gave me a room facing the interstate so my alarm clock was the traffic noise.
The bedspread was noticeably dirty. I can't help but be turned off by something so obvious that is so dirty. It was a real turn off for the night we stayed there.
So me and my friend showed up to stay after we drove 6 hours! The pictures on their website are not the same as in person! Got a non smoking room and walked in and the smell was so bad, there was black dirt on the bed, white stains all on the floor, air unit in room was broken, lifted up the comforter and there was holes all in the mattress, went to the bathroom the bathroom was not clean nor the sink and then there was used toilet paper all over the toilet seat!! I will never stay there again not recommend it to anyone. It was the most nasty hotel i have ever seen in my life!
The heater did not work, it was throwing out cold air and the bathroom sink drained very slow. They offered to put us in another room but I took ill and we checked out and returned home.
Were regular Super8 patrons. This is one of the nicest properties. However the Super8 website is usually difficult to manuver
Went for simple non smoking room, one queen bed. Not looking for anything fancy. When I walked in the room, I immediately smelled stale smoke from Cigarettes. The chairs in the room have large mold spots on them. When I pulled up the covers a few hours later when getting ready for bed. I discovered crumbs and other bits of food all over the linens, which I severely hope was from the Cleaning staff and not the last person to stay in the room. Tub/ shower is disgusting.
This was the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. The place was filthy. After checking in there was obvious drug activity and fighting. No way was my family staying there. We lost the money two rooms but for the safety of my family it is what had to be done. Horrible experience!!!
this hotel was a great place. the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. the owner was great as well. I would most definitely go back if in ft wayne again
As soon as I walked in the door, I saw "dirty" and unprofessional staff. If they had not been behind the counter, I would not have realized they worked there. No uniforms and some in dingy old t-shirts! The hallway to my room smelled horrible and the room was not much better. I went to front desk for a room deodorizer, which they gave me with no questions or comments about why I was asking for it. Assumed they already knew their rooms were stinky. After spraying carpet and curtains, I went to a shop nearby to buy fragrant room deodorizers, which helped get me through the night. I would not have stayed another night! This hotel is in desperate need of a total remodel!! Mattress and bed was horrible. It obviously was worn out. So glad I had brought my own pillow! I just wanted to cry...and I did! Did not take part in the free breakfast. Since, the place was so dirty and smelly, I would NOT eat there!
This facility is not welcoming nor inviting. Initial entry onto the property is confusing due to the subdued entry point into the registration/lobby area. Upon opening the door to the lobby, a smell of old mop water and stale smoke filled the walkway and consumed the entire interior of the areas that my son and I traveled. Within seconds of receiving our room key, the key did not work for using the elevator. The carpet of the hallway on the third floor was loose, had rolls throughout its entirety and is an obvious trip hazard, in addition to giving the appearance of apathy on behalf of the property management team. The room (non-smoking) was in order, but not clean and smelled terrible of smoke. The obvious areas that were not clean were the bathroom (floors and walls) and the main floor and around the baseboard (actually dirty). Our stay was just for an overnight so I was not looking for a place with plussed up amenities and plush decor. However, a clean non smoking room with a clean bed and bathroom, to include the bedclothes and bathtowels, is and will remain a minimum standard when I'm paying a hotel that advertises and boasts such services. I recommend all travelers avoid this Super 8 in Ft Wayne, especially if you prefer a non smoking room. I have stayed in plenty of Super 8 facilities and have had reasonable stays for their reasonable prices. This facility is not reasonable.
