This hotel was very clean and well kept. the staff was very friendly and helpful. We were in the area for a soccer game and this was a very convenient location to the field. I would stay here again if I was in the area. Nothing stands out in my mind either way!
Great place to stay. Was visiting an office furniture manufacturer. Great place to stay, good value, excellent service. Queen size bed was comfortable, great pillows. Short walk next door to an excellent pub!
We stayed one night August 8, 2017 in a King Jacuzzi Room. The room was clean and well kept. The hallway had an odd, undesirable odor, but our room did not. It was a spacious room with a decent king sized bed. The hotel desk people were friendly and helpful. The fire alarm went off, and we had to evacuate. I had no idea that the alarm would be a low, buzzing sound. My recommendation is to make it louder and more noticeable to people who are sleeping. We did evacuate, and I am happy to report that the fire department soon deemed it safe and allowed us to re enter the hotel to resume our sleep. The breakfast was a traditional continental style, with the exception of three hot items: bacon, sausage, and fried eggs. There was a self serve Belgian waffle maker with syrup available, oatmeal packets, dry cereal, bananas, apples, the usual. This hotel is not the best that we have ever stayed in, however it is also not the worst. It was, as I mentioned, clean. It does have one washer and one dryer for laundry, at a cost of $1 to wash and $1.00 for 45 min of dry time---we had one average load, and it took us four times to dry, so beware.
We're on a road trip, and after an exhausting day, we were happy to find this hotel right along our route. After exchanging the first room we were given (the A/C had been left off, so the room was musty smelling), we enjoyed a peaceful rest. The hotel happened to be filled with Little League players and their parents, all come for a local tournament. The sounds of kids playing in the pool, and in the surrounding fields was a welcome change from the usual dead silence of most hotels. Very few restaurants in the area will deliver food, but it's a 10 minute walk to a several (fast) food options.
We stayed for 5 days while our daughter attended a camp nearby. We just hung out and relaxed and were very comfortable the whole time. The pillows are great - and I have a very difficult time getting comfortable! I loved the maple cinnamon flavor batter for waffles. Juice choices were fine( I don't drink coffee or milk). Blake was very friendly, especially since my son was very bored one afternoon. My son very much enjoyed the pool and the hot tub. The pool room was incredibly hot and muggy, uncomfortably so. It felt like a sauna. If you're swimming its not a problem, but if you're just watching your kid swim, it's too warm. Housekeeping services were excellent and friendly. Great to have a microwave and larger fridge in the room.
Great accommodating staff a very comfortable and clean Hotel with the typical type of early morning breakfast offered and coffee availability in each room for those of you that bring your own coffee and want to drip some you can make some too...
This is the first time we have stayed here since this property changed hands a year or so ago. The last time we were at this property was probably 2013. Since the change in ownership the interior has been redecorated and updated. It is very attractive and our room was quite nice: bed comfortable, pillows not too firm, temperature control good. The room had a mini-fridge and the ubiquitous coffee maker. I had requested a room far from the ice machine, which we received. It over looked the front parking lot which was not an issue. The room was very quiet. The entire property appeared very well maintained. We made use of the pool and the hot tub. The pool area is one of the most pleasant for this level of hotel. Pool size is adequate for a few laps. The free breakfast is decent: several juice options; several hot drink options; a selection of breads, cold cereals, and fresh fruits; three hot items which were two meats and one egg each day; make it yourself waffles; yogurt. There were two drawbacks, both minor. 1) The lamp in the corner over the easy chair was not plugged in and I could not locate a socket within cord distance. 2) The furniture does not include a bench suitable for putting a suitcase on and there is only one luggage rack. This is inconvenient as, if more than one person is in the room then there is no place to lay a second bag except on the floor.

I found this former Holiday Inn Express to be clean, comfortable, quiet and in a good way - not memorable. Traveling as much as I do for work, sometimes it's the hotels or restaurants that you stay or eat in where your experience is quiet and uneventful, that end up making your week tolerable and more home like. Everything at this location was a good experience, from the service to the rooms to the exterior to the breakfast. Too bad Holiday Inn didn't leave the omelette and pancake makers - lol. Is this location going to make the Top 10 Places to Stay in America or even Indiana or be a vacation destination. Probably not. But for a weary, traveling salesman like myself it was everything I was hoping it would be and a bit more. The value was also decent and the local Applebee's was as good of a choice as this hotel. If definitely stay here again and eat there while I'm here.
The hallway carpet looked quite faded and somewhat worn. I really didn't like how the entry way was crowded with 3 doors: door to the hall, door to the bathroom, and a totally unnecessary door on the closet/suitcase rack area. most places have that open, and that helps a lot. too many doors! I couldn't get the pillow comfortable for my neck, which is a common problem for me, but the Best Western Plus we stayed at the following night did not cause the same problem - I got a great night's sleep at the BWP. Also, both my son and my husband had great difficulty with the shower mechanism. It was very annoying for them.
