I found this former Holiday Inn Express to be clean, comfortable, quiet and in a good way - not memorable. Traveling as much as I do for work, sometimes it's the hotels or restaurants that you stay or eat in where your experience is quiet and uneventful, that end up making your week tolerable and more home like. Everything at this location was a good experience, from the service to the rooms to the exterior to the breakfast. Too bad Holiday Inn didn't leave the omelette and pancake makers - lol. Is this location going to make the Top 10 Places to Stay in America or even Indiana or be a vacation destination. Probably not. But for a weary, traveling salesman like myself it was everything I was hoping it would be and a bit more. The value was also decent and the local Applebee's was as good of a choice as this hotel. If definitely stay here again and eat there while I'm here.
The hallway carpet looked quite faded and somewhat worn. I really didn't like how the entry way was crowded with 3 doors: door to the hall, door to the bathroom, and a totally unnecessary door on the closet/suitcase rack area. most places have that open, and that helps a lot. too many doors! I couldn't get the pillow comfortable for my neck, which is a common problem for me, but the Best Western Plus we stayed at the following night did not cause the same problem - I got a great night's sleep at the BWP. Also, both my son and my husband had great difficulty with the shower mechanism. It was very annoying for them.
My family of four (including two small kids) just stayed here a couple of nights. I've stayed at a couple of different hotels in the Huntington area, and in my opinion, this one is the best. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast that comes along with the room rate was really great. Not just cold stuff, but also eggs, bacon, sausage, sausage gravy and biscuits, pancakes and waffles, along with the usual options of cereal, toast, bagels, yogurt, fruit, coffee, and juice. The breakfast area was kept very clean and well-stocked; I could tell that person took her job very seriously. No problems with excessive noise from nearby rooms or from outside as I've had at some other hotels. I really liked that they provided a microwave and large mini fridge in the room. There's a nice pool there, too. Really, didn't find any faults! Nice, reasonably-priced place to stay.
Fantastic hotel, all themed as on the racecourse, fantastic staff, nothing too much trouble. amazing food, and great portion sizes. rooms are always clean and fresh bed was amazing great night sleep. Definitely recommend. Will be back soon !
This hotel is no longer a Holiday Inn Express but is now a Comfort Inn. I'm not a fan of Comfort Inn but this one was ok. It still had the HIE shower head and was clean. The beds were old and could stand to be replaced. There must have been a sports tournament in town because there were a lot of unsupervised children making a lot of noise. The lady at the front desk was overworked and was dealing with some drunk people in one of the rooms. The options in Huntington are limited so this place has cleanliness going for it.
I stayed two nights in this hotel very close to the downtown area of Huntington. The room was comfortable, the breakfast enjoyable and the staff was hospitable. Although I didn't use either, an indoor pool and spa is located adjacent to the lobby.
Great place to stay after a day of travel. Comfortable beds, good coffee, and the cinnamon rolls we have come to expect at Holiday Inn Express. Breakfast eggs were like a real fried egg! Staff was accommodating when checking in.
I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights during the week while in town for a job and I have to say that this is one of the nicer hotels I've stayed in for the price point. Good choice for breakfast, and nice updates. Granite countertop in bathroom, microwave, and a good sized mini fridge. The one complaint I have is that the shower didn't get as hot as I would've liked. It got hot, just not the kind of HOT I want after working all day outside in 10 degree weather. But, the shower did have really good water pressure, so that made up for it.
I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with a 4 year old. Upon arrival, the front desk clerk was away from the desk helping another guest, and in the time it took him to return, several other guests arrived to check in. The hotel seemed busy. I had booked each of my three nights separately, because I found varying rates offered on different websites. When I checked in, I asked them to make sure I could stay in the same room each night, and they said there was no way they could guarantee that - that I'd need to check out and back in each day. This caused me a tremendous amount of anxiety, but it turned out that I was able to stay in the same room the whole time. I just didn't know that until each morning when I went to check out. I appreciate that they made that happen, but would have had a better stay if I'd been able to unpack! The pool didn't have steps for entry - only ladders - which made it difficult to use with a child. The hot tub was closed and had a public health notice posted on it for all three nights. Overall, the room was clean and we were comfortable. There were good breakfast options each day.
