My husband and I have stayed here twice. It's a very nice, comfortable place close to the beach -- great to sit around the pool and relax. The beach is very close. There are plenty of good dining options in the neighborhood. On our previous visit last March there were quite a few guests and a lot of socializing. This year, in January, it was rather quiet. The staff has been great on both of our visits.

Good accommodation, good location. A bit too quiet though.

As well as being two blocks from the beach, the best feature of Cheston House is the people, guests and staff alike are welcoming, friendly and fun. The clothing optional pool is bliss. I really enjoyed my stay and would go again anytime.

Great staff, great location, great price, had a great time will difinetly return a third time.

The staff and others that were staying at the resort were very friendly and hospitable. The resort was within walking distance to the beach, restaurants and shopping. It was also a short bus ride to many other restaurants and shopping areas including the docks.

Very clean, older guest house. Met some very nice guests who return year after year. I would definitely return as well.

Was OK not all I was expecting but great for the price

I stayed at Cheston House for about 10 days and absolutely loved it. It was in the summer, so there were not as many people there but I was looking for a quieter gay getaway. It is clothing optional on the first floor, but it was not a hookup fest and in my opinion it is very appropriate for monogamous couples who just want to socialize with other gay men. Chuck, the owner, was extremely helpful from giving me tips about local gay life to ordering delivery to the room. I had a regular room, not anything fancy. The room was comfortable and clean--but not luxurious--and the amenities in the room were very good. A sizable fridge, microwave, etc. Housekeeping was fairly diligent as well. If there were two things I would add to the place it is 1. An outdoor jacuzzi, like some other gay resorts on the beach have and 2. Heavier free weights in the exercise room (up to 50 lbs at least) for those of us who like to workout on vacation. However, these minor quibbles do not take away from the great experience. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Huge room, nice pool, very quiet, with a friendly staff. It's true that it's not the newest of hotels, but it has been well cared-for. Great location: a block off the beach, a short walk from lots of restaurants and shops, and just far enough off the strip to be quiet and peaceful. Would definitely stay there again when in the area.

Very quiet and laid back...if you want excitement, Cheston is not for you. But if you want a beautifully landscaped, tranquil and friendly place to unwind and forget the outside world, you've found a little gem. Cheston was clean, well run and a great value. The pool was refreshing after a day at the beach. Cheston seems to cater to an older crowd, which was fine...I hate being the oldest person in a room, so it made me feel quite young!

The hotel was quiet and relaxing. It's close to the beach, has a nice pool & adequate facilities for it's size. The rooms are well kept, but could use a bit of attention on their state of repair. All in all a nice place.

I stayed five nights and every night was great. Chuck was very helpful and efficient in everything he did for you. Even though it was the slow season, the guests there were friendly and sociable. The pool was pristine and in use constantly. I'd definitely go back there again. Thanks you guys

The place was very clean, but the decor is outdated. While my stay was very nice, like staying at a friends apartment (deluxe suite), the clientele was more mature than I was anticipating. I felt like a young kid among them, and I'm 41. The continental breakfast is also lacking, not as nice as the average chain hotel. I was expecting more from a small gay owned B-N-B. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great service, staff very friendly and helpful, clean and comfy room. This was my second visit to Cheston House and I will be back. Location can't be beat!

Checked in early Saturday evening. Staff offered me a cold beer while I was checked in. Room was immaculate and better than I expected. Many a guest were outgoing and friendly. Spent time nightswimming whilst getting to know the other guest. Extremely welcoming atmosphere. Just a five minute walk to the beach. Fifteen minute walk to the shops and restaurants along US 1A/along the beach. Luxury hotels and restaurants a few steps away from this little bit of paradise. The pool, and all of the guest house, was extremely clean and refreshing.

Awesome! Great service and hotel in heart of Fort Lauderdale. Loved it!!

Gay, all male-clothing optional guest house in Ft Lauderdale for a mature group of men who are comfortable in their skin. Excellent surroundings, service and location ( 2 short blocks to beach, 10-15 minute drive to gaybars, establishments, and restuarants ). I got this last minute, and have NO REGRETS!!

beautiful apartment, and beautiful grounds 2 blocks from the beach. the staff at the cheston house were great always there to meet your needs. the next time we go to ft lauderdale we will be staying at the cheston house they truely make you feel at home. we give it 5 stars.

Ideal location, private tropical paradise, beautifully decorated apartment and immacuate. Wonderful staff and host. Cant wait to return!

The Cheston House is a very clean, convenient, friendly place. That's what I was looking for. The room was very clean, the personnel were friendly and helpful, the pool and grounds were well taken care of and all of the guests were friendly and outgoing. The beach is just a block and a half away and bars and restaurants are within walking distance (10 to 15 minutes).
