Loved staying at the Hotel Privilege. Excellent location and delighted to have a room overlooking the River Arno. This family run hotel is very special. All members of staff very friendly, professional and welcoming. Many thanks to Barbara, Emmanuel and our waiter in the breakfast room plus Peach, the cutest dog you will ever meet. Rooms are attractive with comfortable beds and good quality sheets and top quality towels. I agree with some of the comments that some decor is a bit dated but I consider that 'old school' and something to enjoy. Exceptionally good Continental breakfast with plenty to choose from including Tuscan specialties; try the lemon cake. I know other guests liked the coffee but we didn't so we opted for the cappuccino; a small surcharge but the best 2 Euros I ever spent. We enjoyed our three nights at the Hotel Privilege and am pleased to recommend it to other travelers. We would definitely stay there again.
Nice place alright didn't know what to expect but big thumbs up.Nice greeting friendly Staff and the room was great clean comfortable great ensuite .right on the river ,great location easy walk to town/shops food etc.The Lady on reception was great, .We were there at the end of summer but still hot,it was nice sitting on the patio have a drink and food, and talking to Peach (the dog)watching people go by..breakfast was good.Cant really fault it at all.
Yes - the rooms are outdated. But our bathroom was recently updated and everything was neat and clean. Comfortable large triple room was actually a room for 4 - 2 twins and a queen gave us ample room. Only complaint is that there was not much room for storing our luggage and such but we made it work. The location was easy to get back to as it is near Santa Croce and right on the river. A number of close restaurants too. Breakfast was good and the coffee was great. Had we not stayed here we probably would not have hiked up to Piazzale Michaelangelo since it was directly across the river from the hotel. Would definitely stay again.
Our stay in this hotel was delightful. The breakfast had a good selection and was filling. You can even get a fresh made expresso and the hot chocolate is awesome! The room was clean and very comfortable, the shower was a little small but still easy to take your shower.
Good location and reasonably priced. Very outdated, in need of modernisation. Room was clean but smelt damp, bathroom paint peeling and extractor not working. Limited breakfast choices. Managers very pleasant, but there is no lounge area and the bar never appeared to be open!
We thoroughly enjoyed our recent 4 night stay at the Privilege. Its location is great, being close to the Santa Croce Basilica. The owner, and family, are absolutely superb and made our stay such a pleasure. Our room was comfortable and the spacious bathroom absolutely spotlessly clean. The self-service breakfasts were very good. As has been mentioned in previous reviews, there is some scope for a bit of refurbishment but this is easily overlooked when considering the pleasure of all of the above. Would definitely stay here again.
Owner Emmanuele was wonderful! He made our stay very comfortable. He answered all our questions and gave us tips on where to eat and visit during our visit. The room itself was a bit dated, but did not lack in comfort. The location was great, also. All in all, we had a pleasant stay and I would recommend Hotel Privilege to others.
The owners are the kindest and most helpful people you could hope to meet. They advised us on places to visit, helped look into travelling for us. The decor does look a little tired but the rooms were clean the water hot and the beds comfortable. Great location, right on the river, about a 10min walk to the duomo, ufizzi museum and other main sights.
We stayed here in the spring of 2017. The interior and furnishings were fairly dated and could use some renovation, however everything was clean and the bathroom looked like it'd been remodeled fairly recently. The AC in the room worked fine, the TV only showed local channels (not ideal if you don't understand Italian) and the WiFi also worked fine. Breakfast was included in the price and it was of the continental variety and fairly decent - except the coffee, which was mediocre (no big deal, there are dozens of great coffee shops within walking distance!). The location is probably the best asset of this hotel, it's situated on the bank of the river Arno, very close to all the most important sights of Firenze. The owners were very pleasant and helpful, with a friendly and slightly quirky sense of humor (we couldn't get back into our room until we learned to say its number "centootto" in Italian). Overall, it was a very pleasant stay!
This location was central to everything we wanted to do in Florence. Great views and within walking distance of everything. They serve a wonderful breakfast every morning, including meats, fruits, and cereals. And of course, wonderful Italian coffee! Manuelo was so wonderful in helping us with train info, Mass times, and calling a taxi. Loved him! Oh and Peach, the hotel dog... so sweet! Our room was downstairs and had a bad smell, but I think the upstairs rooms would have been just fine. We spent so little time there I didn't care enough to complain. Everything was clean and the bathroom was nice. Thank you!!
