Palazzo Ruspoli - B&B0.0 out of 5.0

It has been said before, this is a fantastic location very central. It is a B & B so do not expect full hotel facilities, that said what it does provide is very good, comfortable accommodation providing a good breakfast in the centre of Florence. Which is exactly what we wanted. Our room was air conditioned (essential in August) with a great street view. (Photo attached). The staff are great very helpful and accommodating, my wife is Gluten free which presented no problem with options every morning. The Palazzo Ruspoli has plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. In summary we would definitely recommend this hotel it provided all of our requirements.
We stayed at the Palazzo Ruspoli – Florence for 4 nights in late June 2017. The hotel was a huge disappointment as it lacks major touches to become a charming B&B. Here are a few observations of my stay: 1) Location is a few meters from the Duomo and the main square / hub of Florence. It is within walking distance to major attractions in the city, 2) The front office staff is friendly; however, they are not available at all times, which can be a major hassle if you face any problems (we had a faulty sink that had hot water only and the issue was not checked until two days after our complaint. Even then, the problem remained as is), 3) Superior rooms are large; however, the view is not as advertised (the view of the Duomo is of the extreme top only) and can be very noisy due to the lack of soundproof windows. The bathroom have been cheaply restored and the shower is tiny and lacks any water pressure, 4) Buffet breakfast is very basic and not replenished unless one asks for a particular item, 5) Limited choice of in-room TV channels, 6) Free Wi-Fi all across the hotel with unreliable speed and availability. Not recommended. Two stars given only for the amazing location.
We stayed there for 3 nights. The room was big enough and very clean. The location is just perfect and the price is affordable. Breakfast was complete and the staff is very friendly. Everything was perfect!!
We arrived after 6PM and had another guest assist us in getting into our room. The smell in the entry hallway is very offensive. Like a sewer. The room was fine, not much space to put clothes away. The beds were quite hard. Our biggest complaint was the bathroom. Our shower was a folding surround that would not stay closed or keep water in. Location is the best part of this hotel. We would not stay here again.
The location of the facility is just 50m from Duomo, and a walk away from all the other City attractions. Hotel is old, but it has a certain charm. This is excellent value for the Money. The breakfast is continental and nothing special, but you have so many nice restaurants nearby so we did not mind. The rooms with the view on the main street are little bit loud, but if you want quiet room, ask for one looking on the other side. This hotel is not about food and modern rooms, it is about location and that charm of the old building, what Florence is all about.
Hotels in Florence are to expensive.I tried to find normal hotel for normal price in the center.Lication is really great! You open hotel door and Duomo is in your right side. But hotel is old.I like new or renovated 3*or 4* hotels. But this one is old as many avarage price hotels in Florence.Breakfast is continental and poor for me.I think the only reason to choose this hotel is location and price
We stayed for one night here awaiting to get into our real hotel down the street as we arrived in Florence a day earlier than expected. The location is fantastic- steps off of the Piazza and walking distance to everything. That's really where the great news ends. We arrived in Florence around noon wishing to check in (or at least check our bags to go and get some lunch). First, you can't even enter the front door from noon to 2:00 pm because the receptionist goes to lunch and apparently no one else works there. So, we left and came back at 2:00. There is some awful smell that hits you like mold mixed with urine. Not quite sure but it is very unwelcoming. You must go up the elevator to get to the reception and rooms. The receptionist was little more welcoming than the smell at the front door. Not rude, just more like a robot. The room was large, but looked as if it had not been updated since 1975. It was uncomfortable and strange. We slept and then left early in the morning before breakfast so I cannot comment on that. They did have free wi-if though. I would have rated this hotel 2 out of 5 but the location bumps it up. They need to update the rooms, adding some comfortable touches- not just a bed and a lamp. They need to have a receptionist there (a friendly one)- if not 24 hours then at least from maybe 6 am to 8 pm? People have needs! They refer you to their sister hotel somewhere close but that is really inconvenient.
Location is one of the best in Florence, room was dated and in my opinion in need of some care, I understand that the building is historically preserved but the rooms could be better equipped. Breakfast is average, staff was friendly enough. Review is average, if you're about location than go for it, if you're into comfort and room being up to date search for alternatives.
So, yes, location is good, very good - in front of Duomo. Everything is close, Duomo view from the room...but very very very cold in the room like at fridge...heating is poor, and not enough for this big room, hole in window....I do not recommend this place: only even you like freezing and cold condition. Reception work only from 8am till 11am and from 2pm till 6.30pm. You can't even ask about pillows and blankets..... upset
I am just so glad we stayed here for almost every reasons I can imagine! We were initially thinking about staying at the Hilton but due to the shuttle inconvenience and the distance to the town, we ended up picking this hotel only because it fell in our budget. To be honest, if you have light luggage you can always drag them from/to the train station as it is about 800 meters from the hotel. It is just across the Duomo and the Tower. The location is perfect even if you want to dine at fancy restaurants. It is the perfect part of the town you want to be in. Supermarkets, wine shops, restaurants, and even cycle rentals are close by! A pleasant straight walk would take you to the Ponte Vecchio! We had a room facing the Duomo and the room itself was so palatial. High ceiling and pretty-quirky interiors (stayed 17th-19th September). The bathroom was perfectly sized for our requirements. I also loved the breakfast spread. It wasn’t a massive spread but it was more than what I had imagined for such a nifty boutique B & B. They had options in the bakery gourmet to choose from - including croissants. There were cakes, jams, cold cuts, and cheeses and fruits alongside with cereals. There was tea and coffee and juices for beverages. The staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful and so was the lady at the restaurant. I am definitely going to return! PS – The staff at the reception is available before 9AM and then after 2PM (till 5PM I suppose). Do ensure you check the times of arrival with the hotel as otherwise the check-in formality happens at another hotel about 2 blocks away.
