My husband and I had a comfortable 3 nights stay here as part of a tour group. The room was spacious and even had a sofa. It had a hot water boiler/kettle but no bottled water or bedroom slippers. The deco of the hotel was modern and chic, the lounge area was nice and cosy. The hotel is just right across the street from the train station. There's a small supermarket/convenient store there too. But it took us about a 15-20 minutes walk to all the famous piazzas and sightseeing spots. Food options are quite limited around the area. It's best to walk to the piazzas areas for more choices. There is a food market about 10 minutes away though we didn't have time to visit it. We heard from fellow tour group members that it was worth checking out though. If you need laundry done, there's a laundromat just around the block (2 left turns) that's easy to use and affordable.
After the initial confusion of the reception desk as to which room was to be mine and when I could check-in (due to a day late arrival which I had called the hotel to let them know), all went well after that. Comfortable and immaculately clean room with a lovely view over the Duomo from the balcony. My room was on the 5th floor so spared most of the noise from the close by main railway station and tram line but any noise on the lower floors I think would be well compensated by the convenient location of the hotel (and if need be, by some earplugs). The included breakfast was fantastic, as were those who worked in the breakfast room, very warm and obliging, ready with a welcoming smile. The hotel has a few quirks like tiny and grindingly slow elevators, but overall, a hotel I would have no hesitation in recommending.
I liked this hotel and the rooms but it was under construction while I stayed there. It is in a convenient location near the train station so this is a plus if you plan on traveling around Italy by train.
This hotel is located centrally, across the street from the train station and a short 10min walk from the Duomo. Rooms were clean and well appointed. Our room had a small balcony that would be useful in the summer. There were only two elevators which were rather slow at times. I would have rated the hotel higher but it lost points for unfriendly staff. One particular experience stood out in my mind. My wife and I had checked in late the night before and in the morning prior to leaving we realized that the safe was locked. Not wanting to leave our valuables unsecured, I went to make a report at the desk. When I explained the situation, this was the reply ' Why did you tell us this earlier? Didn't you notice this at check in? Why are you coming now?' I started to feel guilty bothering them with my concerns. Keep in mind it only took a couple minutes for a staff member to unlock the safe. Maybe someone elses experience is different from mine, but this left a bad taste. Having said that, its a great location and by European standards great value. However I wont return for the above reason.
This is an ideal location for those arriving in Florence via train. It is just across the road but at night we could not hear the trains at all. It is an end station so no through noise. The bar area is lovely being very relaxing and offering free nibbles with your drinks. Our part of the hotel had some refurbishment going on which didn't bother us during the day as we were out and about. Our facilities in the room were very clean but the shower room was tiny and you had to step out of the shower almost onto the toilet! That was the only down part of our room though. Our friends stayed in a different part that was quite old and although their bathroom was huge it wasn't very up to date and had a smell about it. Location wise though it was fab and I would go back again.
Hotel in The front of The Firenze station but quitte and close Santa Maria Novella, Duomo and Ponte Vecchio. The problem was that there're lot of groupe and it was not quite. When we booked this Hotel, They didn't inform us that they do works, a dit was à mess, no informations, we was in front door closed without informations, they build a shelve rack at 6pm close to my room, fire alarm three Times a day....It's not a 4 star Hotel, I suggest you another Hotel !
We arrived on May 7th in the afternoon. This hotel is being renovated and we actually stayed in an attached hotel which is a C-Hotel. The corridors are confusing and the elevators are very small. The breakfast food was okay but not great. The room was clean, but with a minimum of towels. No wash cloths or facial tissues. I would stay here again but only after the renovations are complete.
The second part of our tour with Trafalgar was Florence for 3 nights. Great hotel, staff and food. Very quiet room overlooking train station. Room was small but tastefully decorated. Once again Trafalgar's choice of hotel was excellent, within walking distance to all historical sites and cafes. Simply loved Florence, the buildings/architecture is amazing. The food at Francesca's was great. A must on everyone's list of places to visit.
Stayed in the Ambasciatori for two nights with my wife and really enjoyed the hotel. Location is perfect to see all the historical sights in Florence. Lots of restaurants around. Staff was very helpful, let us check in early. Rooms are updated and very clean, with nice hardwood floors. Parking was 29 eur/day in the garage below the hotel.
I stayed at the hotel for 4 days in October 2016. The staff were phenomenal, the food was excellent (breakfast was included!), and the room I had was great. The location was perfect for me - across from the train station, with full access to buses, it was a short stroll to many of the "must see" items in Florence. There are great restaurants located on the same block. I highly recommend this hotel.
