Pleasant and modern hotel. Staff were polite and I think the place lends itself excellently for a work trip (which ours was) due to the meeting room facilities but this a separate part of the hotel so it would not interfere with your stay if you weren't there for work. Convenient for the station and 15 mins walk to the old town. Breakfast was nice, continental as expected, filter coffee was good. I wouldn't book here for a romantic escape but for travelling, city break or business it does the job.
We stayed here as part of our Italian tour. On the face of it our room seemed fine, having been renovated. Unfortunately, the design left a lot to be desired. There were no bedside tables or reading lamps. The bed was a fold up type and very firm. As a fold up bed there is a large gap (150mm+) between the bed head and the bed. This gap swallows your pillow during the night :( We were in room 601 which fortunately faced a side street and not the main railway station so we didn't hear trains all night, just occasionally. What we did hear were the renovations going on above us. I rang reception at 10.16pm on the first night only to be told they didn't know what I was talking about but the noise stopped within 5 minutes. Mind you, it started again at 6.15am. On the second night we waited until 10.36pm before ringing reception only to be basically called a liar and that there was absolutely no work going on. Do these people think their clients are idiots? Again, the renovation noise ceased almost immediately, but this time it started at 5.30am next morning. NOISE TRAVELS! Through walls, floors and the like. Just because you can't hear the hammer drill outside the door, doesn't mean the noise isn't travelling to the adjacent rooms and those below. There were multiple complaints from those on our tour about noise, no aircon, small rooms, the list goes on. I will be forwarding a copy of this review to Globus headquarters. This could be a very good hotel but personally I think the current management should be retrained in customer service. Mr Stefano Copioli, you need to do an undercover boss and stay in the rooms your staff provide to tour groups. The question is, would I stay here again? Not on your life. Poor staff attitude, poorly designed rooms (at least 601 was) and bloody noisy. P.S. AND WASH YOUR WINDOWS!
This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in m it looks pretty but my room is so small there is n9 where other than the floor to put your luggage the shower runs all over the bathroom floor because it is so badly designed the safe wasn't work8ng the aircon wasn't working no bedside table as no room to pur it. I absolutely hate this hotel
Convenient to the train station, our room was reasonable, however, our 18 year old granddaughter had to sleep on a converted chaise longue, not even twin sized mattress. Okay for a child, but not for a teenager. The best part of the hotel was the breakfast buffet. It was the best, with lots of choice. Fresh fruits, fruit salads, crusty breads and other pastries, meats, cheeses, juices, etc. comfortable stay, overall.
While checking in at the Hotel Ambasciatori, the front desk lady took full 15 minutes to figure out which room was assigned to us. The only 2 things i demanded at that time was a quiet room with a walk in shower. I was given room 645 on Floor A and the lady on the desk assured everything was according to my request. To my surprise and disappointment i found the following problems staying at Hotel in room no 645 on Floor A. 1. Inspite of booking way in advance requesting a higher floor with least noise, i was given a room on 1st floor (A Floor) facing Railway station and ongoing renovations with maximum noise from outside. Moreover, i was not told that the Bar area just outside the room is an adjoining wall. There was no sound proofing and the window could not be closed since it was a made up room wherein the room no was printed on a piece of paper and stuck on the door. Believe me, i called reception twice for the same. I personally went thrice at the reception and complained about the room and noise from all over the place but no one even once tried to address the problems except saying that the room will be changed next day at 2 pm. I was already charged the entire amount in advance. Room 645 on Floor A which cannot be called a room without any soundproofing and Insulation. We literally sat the entire night waiting for the morning to change the room. It is a crime allotting anyone such a room. I call it cheating on Hotel's part and is in a very bad taste. Pathetic and disappointing service on your part. 2. There were no facial tissues, bathroom sleepers, dustbin and electric kettle as requested in advance. The room had no facilities and after 3 personal visits to the reception, it took 7 hours for a box of facial tissue and just one bathroom slipper to reach me. I was told there are no electric kettles in the Hotel by a gentleman on reception. Disgusting. Next day i was allotted a room on 5th floor called as complimentary upgraded room. To my dismay i found a bath tub instead of my sincere request for only giving me a room with walk in shower. Again the same problems, no facial tissues, no bathroom slippers and a dangerous bath tub. And "surprise surprise", there was an electric kettle lying on the table. What credentials does this Hotel has? What kind of employees have they hired? I had written 2 complaint mails to the Hotel till date but to my utter disappointment they have never bothered to reply. If you are looking at a Hotel near Florence Station, i would suggest go to any Hotel but Hotel Ambasciatori or any of the so called C-group Hotels. It is a shame and in a very bad taste to cheat customers. I call it mistreating, misleading and mis selling. Pathetic service and attitude.
Spent 3 nights at this hotel. Great location - next to the train station. Easy walking distance to all the major sites. Room was spacious and modern. Great balcony view of the Duomo! Breakfast had great variety and tasted good. I received excellent service from an employee at the front desk, who helped me secure a ticket to the Uffizi Gallery on short notice.
This hotel is in flux. I believe they are trying to remodel and convert several hotels into one. It will probably be nice when they finish, but at present it is not. My daughter's and my experience was terrible. We hated this place! No outlets, shower didn't drain, bathroom had no vent so couldn't see in mirror, bathroom door on wrong way so you couldn't stand at the sink and have the door open (so the mirror could clear). The hairdryer didn't work. The walls were so thin we could hear our neighbors. The lighting was nonexistent. Wallpaper peeling off walls.Very rundown room! I would NEVER stay here again. The only positive things I can say is that the upstairs bar looked nice, and the beds were not uncomfortable, and the location is a good one across from the train station.
The best selling point is the location, it is just located opposite to the railway station. It will be good for those travelers who take the train, or joining local tours, as the gather point for most local tours are the railway station. The wifi and breakfast were very good. The cleanness, however a bit disappointed as they didn't change the linen even it was dirty.
excellent location , renovated rooms are very nice but cleanliness null, mosqitos in the room very bad ac plates at breakfast buffet wet dirty smelly & stinky. the only good thing is its location. the floors are a maze & the rstaurant at the first floor very noisy.
Just returned from a four night stay at this hotel. Perfect location for the train & bus stations and the Palazzo dei Congressi conference venue. Spacious, clean rooms. Breakfast offered a fine selection of bread, pastries, cereals, cold meats plus cooked options. Reception staff particularly helpful eg printing out papers for me, and also for helping, with the aid of a Director, a problem with an extra room prebooked - not the Hotel's fault, nor my fault - but rectified all the same! Would recommend this hotel for travellers to Florence. PS 24hr pizza restaurant opposite, for those arriving late at night.
