I value sleep comfort and location over cost. La Maison du Sage is excellent for both - within walking distance of all the major places to visit as well as excellent restaurants. The bed in our Queen Superior Room was firm and comfortable, the Maison is a short distance away from the Duomo so very quiet, and the breakfast has good variety in a very pleasant room. The staff was friendly and attentive including having our room ready when we arrived - as we'd said in an email - in advance of normal check in. I think the cost is reasonable for the comfort and convenience.

We've just got back from 6 nights at La Maison du Sage for our honeymoon and we absolutely loved it. The location is perfect - close to everything but just outside the crowds. The staff were all very helpful - our best meals this week were recommendations. The room was very tastefully decorated and we loved the aperitif time in the evening. Had a wonderful stay and would love to return.

The oasis in Florence's mad crowds is close to perfection. Welcoming reception, warm staff, with great recommendations for sights, food, tickets, taxi. Really good breakfast in a beautiful club-like salon. Also free apperitivo in the same room before going out for dinner! English channels on the tv, and a smart phone to use while you stay. Its location across the street from Santa Croce is an added benefit, and the price is perfect. We got a standard room, a little small, but perfectly fine for short stays. Taxi can take you right to the door, around 10 euros from the train station. Peruzzi leather shop in the same building!

This small hotel is so charming and the staff are all so attentive and kind we felt that we were really well taken care of. Beautiful rooms with super comfortable bed and great shower. The complimentary breakfast was always fresh and very enjoyable. This was our second visit and we hope to return again. Christiano was very helpful, organising tours for us and helping with booking taxis. He was a very professional manager. The hotel is situated very near the Santa Croce Church as well as heaps of wonderful restaurants. It’s walking distance to all the other attractions of Florence. We’d totally recommend this beautiful hotel.

This is really a gem as a hotel in Florence Staff are friendly very comfortable set up I will definitely stay here again Place is central service is good and the overall stay was very pleasant It is very close to everything you want tonseeb

This has been our second stay at this hotel (first time in July 2017) and unfortunately I must admit, that the management has become complacement and my previous raving review is no longer relevant. Positives first: The location is still unbeatable - historic center but away from major tourist crowds, close to many great restaurants and landmarks. Private garage available at exctra cost - very convinient considering how difficult it it to find parking in Florence. Also thank you for changing our room - at first we were placed in Room 1 by the reception and found it too loud. The negatives: Forst and foremost - one can tell that the property has not been properly maintained for the last 2 years and the cleaning standards have dropped significantly. Dusty floors and even spiderwebs in the corners, very inconsistent housekeeping. Many reviewers have mentioned check in times are inconvenient. I totally agree and we have also found it very disturbing that a few days prior our arrival we started to receive phone calls and emails asking us to provide the exact time of our arrival. You know what - we are on the road and often it's hard to predict and we decide as we go. Why should this be my problem if you are guys are saving on the night shift personnel? Overall, unfortunately not a very positive experience this time. Knowing just how many new great hotels open in Florence every year, we will probably not be coming back to La Maison.

This is the kind of stay you will remember. From the moment you check in, when you are welcome with a smile, to the time you leave when will happen the same. Amazing decor and colors, yummy croissants and plenty of choice for breakfast and the city center at your door steps. Loved the hassle free parking service. Grazie!

We had a fabulous stay at this beautiful boutique hotel. The location is perfect - close to all the main sights of Florence yet quiet, the decor and furniture are lovely and our room was stunning! The staff could not have done more to help us and make our stay so memorable. Happy hour is a lovely touch and the buffet breakfast was delicious. We will definitely return!

We visited Florence for 2 nights during a heatwave in June. This place was a refuge from the heat and crowds which were like nothing we’ve experienced before. The accommodation is beautifully done, very stylish. Our room was spacious and comfortable although the bed was creaky which was a bit disturbing at night. I loved the Nespresso machine in the room. The complimentary aperitif hour (6-8pm) was wonderful. Breakfast was fine. The staff were lovely and let us store our bags and use the lounge after check out. We looked out onto a very noisy street which did keep us awake but that’s the downside to such a central location. Overall we were very comfortable and would recommend.

We actually changed our original hotel on the way to Venice and are so pleased that we did. This is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. Magnificent decor, fantastic staff and a nice breakfasts. A special call out to Aneta who has gone to so much trouble in helping us to change travel arrangements. Without even questioning, she spent 15 minutes speaking to our rent a car company to solve an issue and booked a number of train trips for us. In her own time, she also researched pending trips that we were planning on taking - Aneta said that she was going to do this but how good is it when people do what they say they are going to do! This is a first class, boutique and stylish hotel which frankly just doesn’t exist anymore. As a last point, they even a have happy hour with complimentary alcohol each night which makes for great ambience between guests - thank you!!. For management, your staff are a credit to you.
