My fourth or fifth stay at the l’Orologio. Good location at the Pza Santa Maria Novella, a short walk to the train station, to the Cathedral or to the river. The piazza is one of the most beautiful in Florence and a sight in itself. Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is located in several old buildings, so differently sized rooms -some small, some large, all well decorated. Good beds and very good bathrooms. Well isolated windows, good AC and better-than-usual WiFi (for an Italian hotel). Good breakfast, served in a room on the top floor with a view of the square and the St Maria Novella church. A real good start of a day in Florence, recommended!
My wife and I have just spent three nights at L’Orologio in Room 403. I have to say from the moment of our arrival we were made to feel very comfortable and welcome. Clara and her Front Desk colleagues and all of the staff we encountered were delightful and very friendly and are a great asset to your Hotel. The Hotel itself is wonderful. Full of character and warmth. Spotlessly clean and the service we received was second to none! Room 403 is great and the outside terrace makes it very special. Lastly, a thank you for the restaurant recommendations - Gargani is very good, and Buca Mario is fantastic - we enjoyed superb authentic food and atmosphere which truly enhanced our short break. Thank you again - your Hotel and staff are excellent!
My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in May 2018 and we couldn't be happier with our choice to stay here. We were warmly welcomed by the reception staff and throughout our stay they continued to welcome us each time we walked by the front desk. They gave us two excellent local dinner recommendations and arranged the reservations for us. Each evening the bar had an excellent assortment of free nibbles and all kinds of wine and cocktails to purchase. The breakfast each day included hot items such as eggs and bacon as well as cheeses, meats, yogurts, cereals, coffee and pastries. Our room was a deluxe room. It was huge. We had lots of room to walk around the bed even with an iron set up. There was a desk/chair in the room and another sitting chair. In the entry hall there were two closets providing hanging space and drawers to store your clothes. We emptied our suitcases and stored them out of the way. The hotel provided an iron and ironing board, a safe, blow dryer, coffee machine and coffee. The room had very good air conditioning. The bathroom was spacious and the shower had really good water pressure. The cleaning service was the best we have ever experienced. The room was cleaned everyday first thing in the morning and all of the towels, coffee, shampoo etc... were replaced. In the evening there was always a turn down service and an Italian candy was left on our bed. They were very efficient and we never saw them-they did their work whenever we weren't around. The hotel is located on the Piazza Santa Maria Novella. It was not a problem with noise and our room had a nice view of the Piazza. The Duomo was a 5 minute walk away and overall it was very easy to get everywhere from our hotel. We truly were thrilled with our choice to stay here and would highly recommend it!
We loved this hotel and would definitely stay here again. The hotel location is near all the famous sights and is situated on a beautiful plaza by a gorgeous church that is worth a visit. The hotel is out of the hustle and bustle of the main streets, but near so many attractions. The location is within walking distance of the train and bus stations which is convenient if you plan to do any tours or excursions to the countryside, Pisa, etc. Many tour groups meet there at the stations as the start point, or you can plan your own excursions easily. The staff were very friendly and helpful, super professional. Breakfast was great with many choices available. The room accommodations were very well done. Top notch bathroom facilities and beautiful decor with high ceilings. The wristwatch motif throughout the hotel is fun! The sitting room/library off the lobby is beautiful and so European in feel. Wonderful stay!
Wonderful hotel with the best concierges. They went out of their way to accommodate us. The rooms were great and the breakfast was good. I would stay there again and recommend it for others. I loved that they provided umbrellas when it started to rain.
We really enjoyed our three night stay in beautiful Florence and the hotel was lovely. Great location near to the train station and all the sights. Reception staff helpful and lovely bar. Breakfast was a little limited, especially for a three night stay but overall most enjoyable.
A lovely hotel with friendly staff next to Santa Maria Novella. A couple of minutes walk from the train station, 20 minute drive from the airport and easily within walking distance of all of the main attractions. A fantastic location. I love this hotel, having visited twice, however, the breakfast does let it down a little whilst it is nice it is also limited in choice and the breakfast room is very small, meaning you cannot always be seated, that said it is a lovely, friendly hotel and I would recommend.
Very convenient for travelers as it is close to the train station. Room was perfect....good size, and the marble bathroom was lovely. The hotel itself is very well decorated. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and happy to assist with restaurant reservations, etc. By far the best hotel we stayed at in Italy.
The Hotel L 'Orologio was a delightful find. It is on the Plaza Santa Maria Novella where we found musicians every evening. The hotel is rebuilt from three homes and sometime the hallways can be quirky, which can add to the fun. The name "L`Orologo" means "The Watch" and the decor features watches and clock images, Breakfast was served on the top floor with a great view of the Plaza. Breakfast provided a wide variety of well prepared foods and fruits and included Prosecco. Sometimes we did have to wait for places to be cleared to be seated for breakfast. But it was worth the brief wait. The Hotel is just a couple blocks from the train station so it is really convenient. It is also easy to walk from there to all of the attractions in the old city of Firenze. We easily walked to the Uffizi, the Pitti Palace, the Doumo and the museums. The rooms were beautiful as were the amenities. My only criticism would be that we could have used assistance getting luggage up the steps to the lobby. While it is only a couple steps, with the door and the incline, assistance would have been nice.
This is an exceptional hotel property. It's location is excellent (especially for train travel from Santa Maria Novella station), it is an easy walk to all parts of Florence. The staff are attentive and professional. It is a beautiful, secure, luxurious site.
