Very quiet, understated elegant hotel. We booked a standard superior room and requested a bath and a view and We were given both - so worth asking. Our room view looked right over The Piazza di SM Novella from the 3rd floor. The room was compact but spacious at the same time, with everything you needed. Marble bathroom with the deepest bath ever with such a torrent of water from the taps that it filled right up in minutes. The bed is a lovely kingsize with the best quality linens and cushions. We slept really well. Breakfast with a view on The 4th floor - quietly elegant affair where you can ask the staff for cappuccino etc. Everything available from cooked eggs, bacon to cereals, nuts, fresh cut fruit to traditional croissants, cake and biscuits. Fresh and potted yogurt. Reception staff are really helpful, We arrived too early to get access to our room immediately, but without asking we were advised on The hotel bathroom and bar facilities. A map of Florence was given to us and all the key places to visit pointed out. We felt welcomed. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
We have just got back from a 4 night stay at this hotel. From the moment we entered the hotel we were made extremely welcome. We absolutely loved every minute of our stay. The cleanliness is excellent and the little extras of chocolate when your bed is turned down at night.to the serviette placed on the floor by your bed at night so you don't stand directly on the cool floor. It is in a perfect location for everything and every where you want to go to is within a short walking distance.
View of the plaza is not worth it.. Not that the angle is bad.. But this is not the landmark you care to have a view of. I am only giving a 4 rating due to the room and and some member of the staff that were friendly and helpful. 1. Check in.. during my check in I was suppose to have 2 hour early check in as an amenity for booking on hotel website. The two gentlemen that handled my check in was not friendly and my room was not ready. 2. Room and bathroom was nice. Slipper, robe, complimentary water and etc. I was happy with the room. 3. Good bed. 4. Rooms are not soundproof. From early morning to late morning.. you can hear the cleaning staff from rooms around and the rooms above.. very annoying. You cam hear furniture being moved, people walking, etc. Big minus for me. 5. Breakfast room was very nice. Breakfast staff and the room is a big reason for my 4 rating instead of 3.. Also the staff that gave me my keys after I couldn't check in early + staff at check out. 6. Very close to the station but the area did not seem loud. Descent stay with good room but not being sound proof was a big minus. There is also a spa downstairs but I didn't get a chance to use it.
Spent 3 nights at Hotel L’Orologio and loved everything about this place. Nice location just a quick walk from the main train station. Located in a beautiful square and our room had views of the Florence Cathedral. We were celebrating our anniversary so appreciated the complimentary bubbles in our room for arrival. Spacious comfortable rooms which were perfectly decorated. Make sure you go to the bar for snacks in the evening. The barmen are top notch and know how to mix a cocktail!
We stayed at Hotel L'orologio for 5 nights during our honeymoon stay in November 2017. It was close to the station and our room had a good view on to Piazza Santa Maria Novella. The staff on the front desk were always welcoming and helpful, booking us tickets to events, suggesting places to eat and booking a driver to take us to our next stay. The bar and snug with a cosy fire were great to come back to after a day sightseeing and the aperitvo offer was always abundant. The room was quite cosy, not hugely spacious, but the bed was enormous and comfortable, and the bathroom was amazing. Chocolates on the pillow, slippers and bathrobes, all the little details were there to make the stay comfortable. The hotel has great decor with the watch and clock theme done well throughout, and art deco styling in the breakfast room with a view over the piazza. Great location, easy walking distance to all the major sights, and close to the main station with direct links to Pisa airport. We would come back and stay at this Hotel if we come back to Florence.
I stayed at the L'Orologio for 6 nights on a recent business trip to Florence, and I was not disappointed at all. While the room was fairly small, it was very functional eith a comfortable bed, and the bathroom was ample with a good shower. Plenty of closet space as well. Breakfast was very good with a good view of the Piazza in the 4th floor breakfast room. Housekeeping did a fine job, even leaving me a bottle of water each day as well as a little candy! Great service and a great atmosphere as well. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again.
Our stay at the L’Orologia was amazing! From the location to our amazing room with a view of the Duomo! We can’t wait to go back to Florence and will definitely stay at the L’Orologia! The service was amazing, the breakfast divine! Location was easily walking distance station but there are not big signs so you it is easy to walk right by. The bar area was nice and a great area to relax in the lobby.
A very nice hotel close to the main train station in Florence. Every thing is elegantly furnished. Our room was large with an anteroom with large closets, a large bath and a sleeping area that easily accommodated a king bed. Breakfast was a nice buffet that included everything you would expect. I noted that the temperature control in the room was excellent and that there were adequate power outlets. We were well treated and given coffee when we arrived early and we also stayed late and enjoyed the public spaces. Luggage was stored without a second thought.
Been here a few times and always found the staff with a smile and the aperitivo just delicious. So close to SMN that you can crawl there and yet quiet so you can chat with your friends. Split into 2 semi private rooms [one next to an internal water feature] and the main bar area + an outside seating are.
Recommended by a friend who travels on business to Florence a few times a year, this hotel has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The staff is very friendly and very helpful getting dinner reservations, arranging for cabs, restaurant suggestions and assisting in suggestions for the train. Our room was in like-new condition (as was the rest of the hotel). The morning breakfast is served on the top floor and provides a nice slice of a city view and Santa Maria Novella. Great way to start a day! Close to main attractions but just far enough away to be a bit less frantic than the center of downtown (only a few easy blocks away). On our trip we stayed in Rome, Florence and London and felt that we had everything we needed and at an excellent value.
