We enjoyed our stay here, we really wanted to be right in the centre of Florence and it did have a great location. It was only a 10 minute walk away from the main sights. It was an old hotel but it was clean and quite.

Great location, fairly easy walk from the train station, although busy through the market, and the cobbles are relentless. When we left, early Sunday morning, we saw a few lost suitcase wheels, which brought a smile. The staff were very nice and friendly. Breakfast was good. But the room, albeit clean, was in need of a refit. The bed especially was hard as nails, and the pillows like spaniels ears. Lovely restaurants nearby, and the top floor of the indoor market was a grastronomic delight.

This hotel could do with a lot of easy upgrades, or which their lack is concerning. Location is nice, but it should be far from the determining factor in which hotel to stay at: my recommendation is that you look a bit further and save your money in search of a place that spends a few extra dollars on basic comfort. The location is nice, only a few blocks from the terminal and the Piazza del Duomo which makes everything easily accessible. Their wifi is free and they provide an included breakfast, both of which are good to have. Their staff is friendly and courteous and none of my complaints should dissuade you of their good service. The problems seem mostly minor, things that should be easy to correct, but make things pretty uncomfortable. The mattresses are about as soft as a slab of marble, which are complimented by two equally rock-hard pillows. Maybe the mattress is harder to rectify, but there is no reason they cannot buy a set of softer pillows to make the sleeping arrangement significantly more comfortable. If you have ever slept in a college dorm room, then you know about what to expect here in terms of bedding. I was left with a sore neck and a headache for two of the days, which I am pretty sure was causally related. Another problem was the location of the shower head, which was positioned on the far end of the tub where the side curves up for laying. Unfortunately you can't stand under the shower due to that curvature, which makes it very difficult to use. If you're older and are worried about slipping, this would be an exceptionally problematic setup. You would obviously solve this by taking it down and using the handheld feature - except there are no shower curtains, just a pane of glass on the shower-head-side end of the tub (which is somewhere you can't stand). The result, for me, was spraying down the mirror, floor, and walls in an attempt to simply wash my hair (which only serves to make me feel guilty for the workers who clean it later). I'm not sure why they didn't just put the head on the other side and the pane of glass as well, but it made the whole process unnecessarily difficult and slip-inducing as you try to shower on a curve. They could also spend the extra dollar and get shampoo and conditioner instead of a two-in-one shampoo and body wash, which just says "cheap" to me and leaves my hair straw-like. The morning breakfast was good, rolls of bread with ham and cheese, cereal, pastries, and the normal variety of European breakfast items. The only downside (and I really don't understand this one) was their coffee, which tasted terrible. I'm not sure if their machine is excessively dirty with old coffee or, more likely, they are buying cheaper coffee to save a few bucks, but it isn't even worth drinking. This was disappointing because of how good the coffee and espresso is in Italy - I'd recommend going to a different cafe if you need a morning boost. The streets are also loud at night if you are on the street-side, but that isn't something that I would blame on the hotel - it is a result of a city, buildings with thinner walls, and cobblestone roads. You may want to bring ear plugs if that is something that would concern you, but I have a feeling it is common in almost all of the hotels in the area (I live in a city and it seems more normal and manageable to me). Overall I wouldn't consider this a three star hotel; maybe two stars with a good location and good staff, with the potential to have so much more with very little effort on the part of management.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights. It's perfectly located, it's safe, clean and inexpensive. My Room was small and awkward, the bathroom uncomfortable. Not well insulated, I could hear people from other rooms talking, whenever someone flushed or showered it sounded like there was a waterfall in my room. Overall I felt more like in a motel than a hotel. However everyone was very nice and I didn't want to spend too much in hotel since I would be by myself and only to sleep and shower. I like a bit more upscale, but Botticelli hotel is not bad at all considering my very good rate. Would I stay again? Probably not.

We just got back from 5 days in Florence staying at the Botticelli. Arrival was a 3am in the morning job due to Veuling Airline delay but that's another story.. We were given room 202 which overlooks the entrance. The noise in the night from the street and within the hotel didn't make for a great start. That room is an odd configuration anyway so we asked for a change in the morning. The staff overall were great and very helpful, reception and maid service very good. We ended up in room 205 which was better save from noise from the next rooms toilet. After finding the local market (5 min walk) and all the lovely eateries on the first floor; that's where we went for breakfast every morning. The Botticelli dining room I found cramped and the breakfast just adequate. The hotel is old fashioned or some say quaint. It's great for walking to all the nearby sights and reasonable value. Check the room at night for Mosquitos and pack a swat. They're small but deadly, you have been warned.

The location is good. The rooms are small and outdated. I don't mind outdated if things work really really well. But bathrooms are kind of essential to me, personally. The price is very good. Even with small rooms it would be much improved with an update. I do love the foyer/entrance... it's very sweet with a beautiful ceiling.

We stayed at the Hotel Botticelli for two nights. It is a great base in the centre of town, and only 10 minutes walk from the train station. Rooms are simple with dated décor, but comfortable; ours included free wifi, a small TV, but no tea/coffee facilities. The bathrooms are a good size and had a good powerful shower. Breakfast was the standard continental buffet, with very friendly staff. Recommend for guests looking for somewhere to leave there stuff and explore, not those who want luxury after a long day walking!

A difficult hotel to find, but once found the welcome from reception is friendly and informative. The receptionist immediately provides you with a map and explains all the places that might be of interest. Prior to the visit I requested a quiet room, having been warned of the early morning activity ready for the market that is right by the hotel. The room lacked a view but that is not what we wanted; we had a peaceful night's sleep every night with clean bed linen in a comfortable bed. The amenities in the bathroom were as expected: the bath towel was soft, but the hand towels were a bit like tea-cloths! If you want a decent shampoo and conditioner, you need to provide your own, the bottle provided was a combined body/hair shampoo. The hairdryer was effective but the handle got very hot during use. The breakfast was good with a decent variety: cold meats, cheese, eggs, tomatoes, cereals but only two choices of juice (and the orange was a drink rather than a juice). The hotel itself was central to everything. The one disappointment for us was the terrace where we hoped to sit and have a glass of wine: unfortunately it tended to be a smoking area. Overall, however, it was a wonderful stay and we would go again.

This is my third time staying at Hotel Botticelli and I would not stay anywhere else! It is centrally located and near 2 of the city's best restaurants - Zara and Mario. You can walk to all the museums and sites. The desks managers are very polite and speak perfect English. They are eager to answer all your questions! The rooms are comfortable and spacious! The breakfast whis is included with the stay had delicious berry tarts, Italian croissants and cappuccino! I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Florence!

I stayed here for 4 nights while on a city break. The hotel is in a great location, only 5 min walk from the Duomo and the indoor market is right on your doorstep. The rooms are pleasant and have everything I needed, considering I didn't go to Florence to sit my room. Breakfast, which is included, is tasty but simple. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The only down side was the size of the shower. It was tiny. I'm not big and I struggled to wash my hair because the cubical was small. I would stay here again because it's location and value for money were good.
