Everything you want in a hotel in Florence at great rates. Warm welcoming staff and located within walking distance of everything you want to see and then some. What more could you ask for!? Within a block of the front door is one of the fantastic Florence leather markets. We did all our Christmas/Chanukah shopping and of course added a little something for ourselves!
Lovely welcome and a good hotel ideally situated both for the main market and for many local restaurants. Try the food in the market - lots of options. Short walk to all the sights but the hotel manages to be a little off the beaten track. Room was smallish but clean and well maintained. Breakfast was fine but not a lot of choice.
Clean and comfortable. Well located for the Uffizi, the Academia, the central market, and lots of restaurants. Reasonable breakfast got the days off to a good start. Friendly staff. Not posh with lots of facilities but just what we wanted for a four day visit.
This hotel offers a great location for Florence's main attractions. We found the staff all very friendly and helpful. Reasonable sized room, with good sized shower. They have a nice little terrace on the 2nd floor which was great for taking a little evening tipple. Maybe a little basic but cant really fault this place, I'd be happy to stay here again.
We stayed at the Hotel Botticelli for three nights at the start of our Tuscan adventure. This is a great little hotel that is tucked away in a discreet corner near the central covered market. It is close (walkable) to the train station and provides and excellent base from which to take advantage of what Florence has to offer. Staff are friendly and helpful whilst the facilities are clean tidy and well maintained. We stayed on a Bed and Breakfast basis and can recommend the Hotel to anyone.
Some hotels go out of their way to be welcoming and very attentive, Hotel Botticelli is more functional. If you accept that you are just another punter on a 3 day break all is well. The room we had was clean, comfortable and more than adequate ...it had a great view down the road opposite to the leather market and old, main market building. This was exciting until the road cleaning vehicle decided to do its thing when the market cleared at about 23.00 and the leather stalls started arriving at about 06.00! But hey ...it is a working city. The hotel is in a great location within very close proximity to the train station, the shopping streets of Florence[experience now advises not to get over-excited on arrival and buy an ice cream along this street unless you have an unlimited supply of euros. Doh!], the aforesaid markets [visit the food stalls/wine bars on the first floor of the old market building], all the main sites and the lively bars and restaurants of the area.
If you drive into Florence be aware that they have a complicated one way system and this seems to change every-time we visit. Beware as they have camera's and you can end up with a fine! That said this hotel has limited secure parking alongside the premises, so get there early if you wish to use this. The location is great and very convenient for visiting the tourist locations and restaurants. The rooms are small but this is because they have to fit within the existing architecture. Ok Wi-Fi. The staff on the desk were very helpful. A basic Italian breakfast was provided: Yoghurt, fruit, cold meat & cheese, cake and biscuits. Would stay again at this hotel
Super friendly staff and nice breakfast included in the room rate. Clean and in a good location for walking around Florence right next to the central markets and by all the street stalls selling leather goods.
This hotel is in an excellent location;it's a short walk to the train station and all major sites are in easy walking distance too. We found the breakfasts weren't anything special and not worth the effort of going to the dining room. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were basic but clean.
The hotel position is fabulous, very central but in a cozy, quiet bend of a long street on the back of Mercato Centrale di San Lorenzo. We could shop and return to the hotel to leave our bags! The hotel is also very close to several good restaurants in the Piazza del Mercato. The furnishing is pretty elegant and well kept. Room was immaculate with perfect air conditioning. We turned it off when not in the room but it was cooling the small room in no time when we turned it back on. I can see the bathroom would be a bit too small for large people. The towels were fairly new and plush and there was plenty of toiletry. Unfortunately someone in the room next to us left pretty darn early the next morning... In the quiet of the early morning you could hear every noise (including running water) happening in their bathroom... Breakfast was excellent, abundant, rich in choice, served as early as you would want by a very kind young lady. We loved this hotel and consider staying there again in the future.
