+ This hotel is in a very nice and quiet area close to the center, just next to the river Arno. Rooms are spacious, mattress extremely comfortable! Interior of all facilities is in a beautiful fiorentine artistic style, so when you stay there you have feeling you are in 14th century. NH Hotels chain is a good quality in general, so I didn't have doubt staying there. Staff is kind and helpful, rooms are super clean, breakfast is regular, there is a bit for everyone. Hotel also has a nice indoor terrace that could be nice to sit in for the afternoon coffee or aperitif. All in all, nice hotel, but you have to be ready to pay the brand if you're staying here. - one small advice: hotel should provide slippers for guests, as there are no carpets on the room's floors, and tiles can be cold when you are without footwear :)
I stayed at the hotel for a business trip. It is situated about ten minute walk from town centre in a very secure area as the American Embassy is just around the corner. The staff on the welcome desk were attentive and helpful at check in. The bedroom was very spacious, very high ceilings but furniture was sparse, not at all in character with the building. The weather was cold and there was no heating, so the room was freezing, I was told the heating had been switched off and there was nothing they could do about it. I was given an extra duvet. The TV in the room was tiny so sound and picture was poor. Bathroom was surprisingly cramped, not at all in proportion to the bedroom. Shower was in the bath so you have to step in, this is very dangerous if you are old and infirm to get in and out. Room dining is very restricted, no burgers or steaks, just a few dishes they can warm in a microwave I suspect, I ended up eating the chocolates at five euros a pack. Fridge had only one beer in it. The bar downstairs was very quiet, but most people venture out to the beautiful city so I understand why they haven't made much effort to keep customers in the hotel. As with many Italian hotels there is no iron our board in the room allowed due too health and safety, so they told me to come downstairs and use the "ironing room" which is in fact the toilet! It had nowhere to hang your clothes so I improvised with the door handle. Got the job done though! Breakfast was pleasant, good selection of hot and cold food, very helpful staff. I will definitely select a different hotel for my next business trip, somewhere a bit more lively and that has central heating and a proper ironing room.
Highly recommended. In a quiet and pretty street a stone's throw from the Arno river. A 10-15 minute walk to Ponte Vecchio and centre of city. Friendly staff. Generous buffet breakfast. We stayed in a superior room which was spacious and spotless. Traditional Italian style of decor. Lovely little bar. Good value.
The room was tired and careworn, and also very cold. The staff were brilliant, friendly and very informative and helpful. The location is perfect for the centre yet quiet for the evening/nighttime - which is what we want. Local restaurants are good too.
We were bought a short break in Florence to celebrate our 'special' birthdays. The hotel was very good and we found the staff to be both helpful and friendly, on reception and in the dining room for breakfast. As soon as we arrived we had to hit the ground running as we only had a few days to get everything in so as we checked in (and it was quiet at the desk) took the opportunity to ask directions for the next day for our tours. This we were freely given an advised to get a cab to the meeting point and that we would not need to pre order as they would order one for us which would only be a few minutes. We also asked where to go for dinner in the evening and got directions to a couple of restaurants. After we had had a stroll round to get our bearings we went back to the hotel and enjoyed a glass of wine in the garden area before going out. Our room was large clean and supplied with the usual teas & coffees, also shower gels etc in the bathroom. High and nicely situated on the front of the hotel overlooking the quiet street at the front. Breakfast was plentiful an filling so we were well set up for the day. It was also a nice touch to have a free safe. As we were celebrating a special event we also had a nice plate of fresh fruit in our room with a welcoming letter from the management.
Myself and my boyfriend stayed in the Firenze Anglo American last November. It was our first trip to Italy and this hotel was the first one we stayed at on our holidays. What a fantastic experience we were treated. Our room was beautiful - spacious with a high ceiling with a small balcony looking out onto the (quiet) front street. We could not open the window shutters and front desk were extremely prompt about sending someone up to fix them for us. The breakfast was tasty in a lovely dining room downstairs. The hotel is situated a little bit outside the city centre, but is still very accessible - we walked everywhere while we were there. I hope everyone else enjoys their stay as much as I did.
I was bitterly disappointed with the stay at this hotel. Although the public areas are beautiful and well maintained, the standard room which we were allocated was very run down and very tired! The wallpaper was peeling off the walls and most of the paint had peeled off the window frames. The 'wardrobe' was hardly adequate to hang our clothes. The carpet in the hallways was threadbare and the paint on the skirting boards was badly chipped and marked. Although the room was spotless and breakfast was plentiful I do not feel that I had a 4 star experience. This hotel is in need of some TLC and a lot of refurbishment to make it 4 star again!
Nice hotel, it worths the price Iooked many other hotels but their prices were double of this hotel ,no need to pay much more to a hotel room in florence because you dont stay in the room or in the hotel and the staff was very nice room was a bit old eas very clean..hotel is near the touristic spots. You can choose Nh hotels in Spain also good quality doesnt change in NH hptels
We were a group of couples for 3 nights. It's a great location, it's about 10 min walking distance to the downtown historical locations and to the main railway statationand. Convey tranquility thanks to the neighbourhood. Good breakfast buffet and very kind staff.
Wonderful stay at this well appointed period hotel. The staff were friendly and rooms well appointed including tea/coffee and wifi. Breakfast was standard fare but did include nice touches like healthy options for cereal toppings. A minor issue was the shower over a very narrow poorly lit bath alcove that had us both slipping. Highly recommended - just be careful in the bath!
