A lovely, traditional hotel in a quiet neighbourhood that is very comfortable and relaxing, yet within walking distance of the town. Not far from the river and the American consulate. Cool interior away from the city heat. Friendly staff and a good breakfast buffet..
Check in was very easy, there is no car parking at the hotel they will suggest that you use their car park valet service or park nearby at a public parking area which is not secure ***there are guys who try to sell you parking for EUR20 at the public car park, it's a rip off, just use the kiosk***. Valet was easy, it was EUR25 to park and EUR5 each time you needed to access the car. Staff were really lovely and helpful. There is an overpowering perfume smell in the lobby. We paid for breakfast and it was expensive for what was offered. Rooms were clean and tidy but outdated furnishings. WIFI was free but slow. It's only around 20 minutes walk to Ponte Vecchio and the centre of the old town so a very handy location. Aircon didn't keep our room very cool, it got quite stuffy even when we tried to turn the aircon down to 18 degrees. We ate at a restaurant nearby as recommended by the hotel named Baldini's and the food there is quite nice.
The trip started not so well, ours luggage was left in Rome, but with the help of the people of the Florence airport and the front desk, we were able to have them next day. During our stay, the front desk was always very helpful. The rooms were very, very comfortable!!!!
Hotel is located just outside the tourist area but only 15 minutes away. The hotel itself, although a bit outdated, is quite nice with spacious rooms. The room we had, had a coffeemaker, fridge, safe and airco, although that did not work very well. Breakfast is fantastic with staff that provides you with coffee, tea, toast etc even though it’s a buffet breakfast. They do close the bar really early so don’t expect to have a drink after 11!
I stayed at the hotel with my daughter for 3 nights and I truly recommend this place. The firm which we have used to book our trip had made a mistake with the date of accommodation. However, the receptionist Gabriella helped us to find a solution to our problem and made everything she could. She was very kind and she and her colleagues made us feel comfortable and cosy at the place. The first night we were at a small and clean room. The view wasn't the best, which is really common in Italy, I think. But for the next two night we had a big room with a very beautiful view and with a huge bed. We got a good sleep there, thanks to the comfortable bed and the warm room. The breakfast was with a huge variety of pastries, croissants, fruits, dairy products and drinks. We were impressed with the proschuto, which was the best we have ever tried. The location is perfect. The hotel is near the train station, about a 10 min walk to get there. The river is a hundred meters away. The center of the city isn't far from the place. The beautiful sights and the impressive buildings make the walk to it really enjoyable. The staff was so friendly and responsive, the rooms were clean and cosy, the location is the best. I believe that the hotel is the best in Florence. I'm sure that this trip won't be my last in Florence, especially at that hotel! Grazie di tutto!
We stayed here for 7 nights in August. We got a taxi from the airport, it was approx. 25 minutes drive. The hotel is situated in a relatively quiet neigborhood, we didnt really experience any irritating noise from outside. The hotel is an old building with great atmosphere! Outside the lobby is a small, outdoor terrace of sorts, where we spent a little time every evening before we went to bed. Our room was large, and clean. The bed was huuuge, and we both felt we got good sleep every night. The room had a minibar, meaning you can keep a small bottle of juice etc cool (dont expect to fit a sixpack of beer in there, tho) The breakfast buffet was good, the selection was good enough that we didnt have to eat the same thing every morning. The staff was very nice and helpful, always smiling and had good recommendations for restaurants etc The hotel is located a bit off city centre, 10-12 minutes walk at a normal pace. On the way you can either walk along the Arno river for pretty views of the bridges, or you can walk through the streets where you will pass several cosy cafes and restaurants. A 5 minute walk in the opposite direction will take you to the train station. Close by there is a park, which hosted sort of a festival when we were there, with live entertainment (stage plays, concerts etc), great food stalls and some souvenir dealers, and of course - gelato vendors! We were pleased with the hotel, the staff and the overall experience there, and I would not discourage anyone from staying there. If we were to go back to Firenze however, we would look for a hotel a little bit closer to city center (even though that 10 minute walk did save us a fair bit of money compared to the hotels in town) My personal tips to make the most out of your visit in Firenze: *Go see the Boboli Gardens, and the even prettier Bardini Gardens across the street *Buy a bus ticket and go to Piazzale Michelangelo for a fantastic view of the city. Just be sure to catch the last bus back to town as this would be quite a walk *Take a day trip to Siena - buy a train ticket and enjoy the scenery on the way. Do take a taxi from the Siena train station to town and then you can decide if you want to walk back (thats a lovely walk, but kind of long)
I was just one Night in this Hotel , had a Wonderful Upgrade and the People from the reception Are very nice . They take care about their guests and Treat Them very well . Elisabeth is a very nice and Friendly Person . Thank you and i will Come again 😀
Staff gave a friendly welcome and we were able to check in early as our room was available. Room was big, spotless and comfortable. There was a good choice of hot/cold breakfast. The weather was unusually hot for the time of year (20/04) and after a sleepless night due to a very hot room reception informed us that the air con is not normally switched on until 1 May and takes 3 days to adjust! This was disappointing for a 4 star hotel.
You know when you are greeted by the front desk staff with a big smile and fond cheerfulness, your trip is off to a good start... Great Hotel with well appointed rooms. The rooms are New and very comfortable. The dining Area is beautiful and the lobby with a stained Cieling is Just gorgeous. It is an old Building but the renovated look is a delight. I must say the staff are friendly and really Helpful. Special shout out to Anna and Elisabeth. Thank you NH Forenze Anglo American. I Will encourage my friends to stay here and Will be back for sure.
Great staff that upgraded us to a suite. Hotel had a quiet local charm and the gazebo area is very relaxing. Wonderful stay and about 20 minute walk to all the main attractions (Pointe Vechhio etc..).
