Hotel Santa Maria Novella

Recent guest reviews

We spent a weekend in Florence, traveling by train from Rome. The hotel was a 5-10 minute walk from the station, which was perfect when lugging a suitcase. Hotel staff was most accommodating — mapping out directions to places we had booked, making recommendations for places to eat that were off the beaten track and tips for shopping for particular items. Hotel breakfast was fantastic— a most relaxing way to start one’s day — food, ambience and service were first rate. Room was well appointed and comfortable. Bathroom had many extra amenities — robe, slippers that were a plus.

We loved everything about it. The hotel was beautiful. T

Elegant and stylish small hotel. My room was very comfortable with a stunning view of the church of Santa Maria Novella. The hotel roof offers lovely views of the Duomo and Campanile as well. Staff was very helpful and breakfast offered a wide range of choices. I have already booked a return visit.

Wonderful location and room. A maze to find your way to access the rooftop terrace but lovely once you found it. Spacious and pleasant bathroom in junior suite. Fresh fruit and prosecco were lovely added touch! Terrific place.

Highly recommend, friendly staff, clean, great breakfast, perfect location. Stayed at four places in Italy, this place was favorite.

This hotel is walking distance to everything. Breakfast was so good and lots of options to choose from. You get water everyday but we did have to ask sometimes for it, but they brought it immediately. Room was very nice with windows. Beds were comfortable. The rooftop terrace was amazing! The hotel can be a maze but it was fun figuring it out! If I come to Florence again I am for sure staying here so I don't regret staying in a hotel that's not great. It was perfect!

The hotel was clean, well decorated, excellent breakfast and most of all near to everything in Florence. I could walk to the hotel from the train station in Florence.

Great location and staff. Centrally located, walking distance to all the museum's.

Great hotel . Big rooms , with a great location . Just a few blocks to everything .

We have nothing but positive things to say about this hotel, its location and its staff. We had a wonderful timexperience. The rooms are amazing and beautiful. You can't beat the location within a walking distance to the train station and all that Florence has to offer.

Our stay in Florence was fantastic. Nice clean accommodations with a friendly helpful staff. Convenient location .

I enjoyed this hotel. I visited Florence for a weekend with my son. The staff was friendly and accommodating. When the room setup perfect upon check in, they immediately fixed it and could not have been nicer (e.g., remade beds as 2 twins not 1 double, checked on bathroom faucet, tried to improve internet). They graciously provided a large umbrella to use for the raining day. Hotel layout is a bit quirky, which meant a few different ways to our room, but I found this charming. Our room was quiet. The only drawback was weak internet in our room (internet was fine in hallway and common areas).

The hotel is gorgeous and elegant. The staff is gracious, cheerful and helpful. The location is excellent, 5 minute walk to the Duomo and sits on the Piazza Santa Maria Novella which is lovely. Rooms aren't as big as American's might expect, but they aren't tiny either. I would be happy to stay here again.

Simply a terrific hotel! Staff at the front desk made our stay thouroughly enjoyable! Thanks Simone!

Again, the hotel location was perfect. It was near the train station and walking distance from all the museums and sites!

staffs are friendly, location is great, except the sign of the hotel is too small that we had hard time of finding it while it was raining at that night.

Beautiful little historic hotel. Loved the fabric (silk?) wallpaper in the hallways and the gorgeous breakfast room. Breakfast itself was superb - fruit, pastries, eggs, bacon, and infinite cappuccino. Staff bent over backwards to be friendly and helpful and all spoke near-perfect English. Reliable, free wifi (though remember that streaming video like netflix / amazon is not available in Europe). Only downsides: my room was tiny, shower leaked (not a huge deal since I wasn't the one who had to mop it up), and water temperature varied wildly and sometimes painfully, depending presumably on water being used elsewhere (I think this is common in Italy).

The hotel was lovely. However, the double bed in a superior room was really, really small and very uncomfortable for 2 persons. Did not like having the bathroom immediately next to the bed. I would not stay in this type of room again. We very much enjoyed the beautiful dining area for breakfast and great breakfast buffet.

The hotel is really close to the Train Station and to the Tours' Meeting Points. It is close to the Duomo, to the Ponte Vieccho, Shopping and a good selection of restaurants.

Hotel is very conveniently located and staff was extremely accomodating. I would stay there again.
